Chapter 9

Justin's POV

Birds. That's all I heard when I woke up. Melanie was right beside me, but we weren't in our bed. We were outside. Opening my eyes, I looked around, just sitting on the front lawn. The birds were chirping, and the wind was blowing a nice cold breeze. Looking down at I watched Melanie, she was asleep, but she had this little smirk. Slowly I stroked the side of her face, urging her to wake up. "Mmmnngh, what is it?" She shoved my hand away from her face and opened her eyes. "Morning beautiful." She looked at me and then rapidly blinked her eyes. "Morni- wait what? Its morning already?" I nodded and stood, upbringing her with me. "We fell asleep out here, and no one bothered to come and wake us last night." Melanie rubbed her head than like a light bulb went off in her head. She quickly started heading inside. I raced after she questioned her actions. "Melanie, what are you doing, sweetie?" You could almost see the steam coming out of her ears. She was a little pissed, "Oh, nothing bad, just gonna make some breakfast." Hmmm, I don't trust it. "Okay, do you want some help?" She shook her head and walked into the kitchen. Melanie started cooking bacon and eggs and pancakes. Every breakfast food out there. Slowly like a spell, it woke up the house.

It reminded me of thunder. Multiple pairs of feet stomping their way downstairs and to the kitchen. The first people through the door were Arron and Darren. Which is kind of surprising cause they were the newest people here? Alex wasn't too far behind them, followed by the rest of the guards. "Well, Justin, note next time we want people to wake up early, just make food, and they will be there in seconds." That was very true. These guys would do anything for someone to cook for them. They are too lazy to cook themselves, so we usually get take out. Or people do what they want for breakfast. "You know, mate, that is very true, and you want to know how you can get them to sprint away quickly?" The smile I had on my face filled an evil glint. Melanie matched my wicked smile and nodded ferociously. "Well, once they all get settled and you start to notice that they are finishing up, you say these magic words." I paused for dramatic effect. "ALRIGHT BOYS, NOW WHO WANTS TO GO OUTSIDE AND DO SOME TRANING?!" All heads turned towards me, and the look of fear was across every single face.

Alex was the first to move, and slowly he stood up. Everyone looked at him in awe. Was he really about to do this? Alex made eye contact, and then I could see it. This mother fucker was about to run. "Don't you dare, Alex." He gave me a slight smile before he turned tucked tail and sprinted away. As soon as he did this, it was as if everyone else's brain clicked, and they all ran. Looking over at Melanie made me smile. She was on the floor, laughing her ass off. "He… He made eye contact and still ran! That…. That was so funny. No one wants to… to train after eating great food." She was holding her stomach from laughing too hard. This was the most precious sight I could ever imagine. "Yea, yea, hahaha. Hush up, mate. Let's go on a date." She immediately stopped laughing. "W-what?" Walking over to her, I cupped her face. "Let's go on a proper date. Just us two, no one else. Food and talking. Sound good?" She stared up at me for a minute or two before a giant smile broke out across her lips. "I would love to, Justin."

Once I rounded up all the men, I stood up front, waiting for Melanie to join me. Searching around, I couldn't see Melanie, but then I spotted her. At the back. Whistling, I waved her over. Melanie looked surprised. 'I'm not used to being at the front.' Chuckling, I walked behind a tree and shifted, moving my clothes off to the side with my mouth. Walking back out, I saw that everyone had finished shifting and was ready to run. Turning my head, I glanced at Melanie, and she shook out her fur. She was so beautiful. 'Ready?' Melanie responded with a yip. Facing forward, I howled, signaling the start of the run, and then took off. Melanie stayed by my side the entire time, and I felt complete. Melanie nipped at my paw, and I retorted with a light growl, she just yipped and pushed her self-faster. Moving ahead, I caught up to her and bit at her back paws. Chuckling, we continued to run. I could tell that some of the men were getting tired, so I nipped Melanie's neck to let her know. She slowed down, and we started trotting and eventually got down to a walk. Everyone was accepting Melanie as the Luna. I started turning the run back towards the house.

Once we reached the house, I went behind a tree and shifted. Walking back out, I noticed that everyone gathered around two people. Melanie being one, the other was Lucy. What kind of trouble are they causing now? "You will never be Luna. That was supposed to be my spot. I was supposed to have Justin all to myself, and then you had to go and get into trouble. If you had just died, everything would have set up for me! I growled, but Melanie stopped me with one look. 'Mate doesn't need your help shutting this bitch down.' Rhydian mumbled. 'Whatever. I'm here if she needs me.'

I watched as Melanie looked back at Lucy. In an instant, Melanie was on the other side of Lucy. Melanie raised her hand and hit Lucy right on the back of the neck. Lucy had no time to react. With the blow that Melanie delivered, she passed out. Flopping on the ground, Melanie turned to the crowd. "DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ME?!" Everyone stood still. I was so proud of her. She has gained so much confidence; she has become a real Luna. Oh boy, was I whipped. I pushed through the crowd and walked right up to Melanie, grabbing her waist, I pulled her into a kiss. Making sure everyone saw she was mine and no one could touch her. Once we pulled away, I looked at the pack. "No one will disrespect my mate. She is Luna. Nothing will change that." Looking at Lucy, I called for Ashton. "Take her to the dungeons. Shes have been causing way too much trouble lately." Nodding, Ashton stepped forward and threw Lucy over his shoulder and headed off towards the dungeon. "Now that's settled, go shower. Good run today." As if I shot a gun, everyone took off and ran inside. Laughing, I looked down at Melanie. Her eyes were full of love. "You are the best." Smiling, I kissed her cheek and then pulled her towards the house. "That meant you too, you stink." Growling, she slapped at my hands, "Not as much as you do doofus." We continued our way into the house. I sent a pack link to the warriors that we needed to meet after we all showered. Pushing Melanie up the stairs, I opened our bedroom and flopped on the bed. "What happened to shower?" Looking at her, I smiled, "I was letting you go first." Melanie's eyes changed, and she walked to the bathroom, stripping she kept her back to me. "But Justin. I may need help cleaning my back." I jumped up and threw off my clothes, running towards her. Climbing into the shower, I pulled her into it with me. "Oh, I can't leave my mate helpless and with a dirty back." Giggling, she kissed my neck. "Don't let me fall." I wrapped my arms around her back, making sure to pull her close to me. "I would never."
