Our school is having a football game today after school. Apparently football is very popular out here considering the whole school is going.

My cousins are even going. It's my college against some big school out of North Dakota. It's a home game so I thought maybe I should go.

Right now I'm waiting at the lunch tables outside for my second period to start. Knox and his siblings are standing on the other side of the outside lunch area.

Dom sits on the other side of my chair.

He says "So Ms. Miami is alive after all."

I laugh, "Yeah, I am. I happen to be indestructible."

He smiles and asks awkwardly "You coming to the Halloween party the 27th."

I say "Ugh no, I don't do parties and anyways my cousin that is also in college invited me to stay with her."

He says "Oh we were all really looking forward to you at the party. I was also wondering if you could be my date."

I catch Knox's glance behind Dom.

I say "I think you should ask Jess. She really wants to go with you."

He asks "Really? I thought she just liked me because I gave her my hoodie one day."

I laugh at his stupidity then say "Go ask her, she's over there."

I point to her sitting on her cars hood.

Dom says "Thank you."

I say "Of course."

He gets up and leaves, I look up to see Knox laughing at his brother.

I don't even know if they're related. I know he's related to two of them. The other two are just his siblings significant other I just can't figure out who belongs to sibling and sibling in law.

I get up and walk towards my car. Tia joining me.

She asks "Did Dom ask you out?"

I say "No, he just asked if I was going."

She nods, says "I really want to go with Chase but he probably wouldn't want too."

I say "He definitely would, just ask him. You see how he looks at you."

She says "Yeah but he hasn't asked me."

I say "Tia, you ask him. He doesn't have to ask in order to want to go with you."

She says "You're so right. Thank you."

I say "No problem. Go get your man."

Tia laughs and walks away.

I laugh and get my hoodie out of the car.

I throw on a long sleeve shirt, jeans, a jacket, and a pair of boots for the football game. I grab my phone off my bed putting it in my back pocket.

I walk downstairs, my cousins are wearing my schools colors.

I laugh, "Y'all really have school spirit."

Chris says "Of course we do. We went there for a while two months."

We all laugh, I say "I'm not showing up with you three looking like that. I'll take my own car."

Nolan says "You're so boring."

Jake sticks out his tongue, I roll my eyes and go outside. The follow behind. We all get into our cars. All three of them ride in Chris's car.

When we get there they find their friends that still go here and I find Tia, Jess, Dom, and Chase.

Chase asks "So who's all going to the Halloween party?"

Dom says "I'm going."

Jess says "Same."

Tia says "Yeah I plan on going."

I say "I'm not, I'm going to Bryson."

Chase says "Oh that sucks, we were all looking forward to you going."

Dom says "I said that to her already, guess she's just a party pooper."

He lightly pushes my shoulder. I give an awkward smile.

Tia says "Hurry up so we can get the good seats."

Jess grabs my hand, practically dragging me along.

I look around almost for help to save me from Jess. I see Knox smiling alongside his siblings.

He is wearing jeans, a white t-shirt, and a sweater. He looks handsome.

Jess says "Oh Roslyn look at those hotties. Maybe you can find one you like."

She winks at me, I laugh and say "No chance, I don't really like relationships."

She says "Oh so you're more of a one night type girl."

I say "Oh my god, no not at all. I just don't really do relationships period."

She points to the guys and I see my cousins walking beside them. My face contorts into disgust.

She says "The ones in the sides are hot but they already have girlfriends."

I say "Those are my cousins."

We both start dying of laughter. Dom, Tia, and Chase look at us like we're crazy.

We sit down and the game starts about 20 minutes later. We got decent seats but I don't really care. I don't really like watching sports.

I get bored quickly so I say "I'm gonna go catch some air. Anybody wanna come with."

All three of them shake their heads. I shrug and get up, walking down the aisle of stairs.

I weave through people waiting in lines for food, drinks, and the bathroom.

After finally reaching the parking lot I sigh. I spend some time there before walking back towards the school.

Then I start my journey to the woods.
