MY HEART IS YOURS

SHAINE'S POV

I CAN'T BELIEVE that my grandmother set me up on an online dating app! She has a big smile now because she found a guy for me. The guy is a handsome and wealthy man. If I reject grandma, she will get angry at me. She was also looking for a blind date! She has been rushing me with my relationship with a guy since she got sick. I'm sure my list of friends will increase again tomorrow. I might consider if that guy is Lee Jong Suk... Be my husband babe! Just kidding.

"Shaine, I'm so excited for you! Wear something revealing! Show off your sexy tummy! What do you call that dress? Is it a dress or a shirt?"

"A crop top, grandma. And it's a shirt, not a dress." Wow! She knows all this stuff that reveals skin? I thought she'd be more traditional - like wearing a dress that is below the knee or something.

"What? Hip-hop?"

"Grandma, it's crop top!" I shouted because my grandmother's hearing was really weak. Of course, I said yes to grandma but I won't wear a crop top because my tons of fat might snoop around and it'll look like I'm really fat.

7:00 AM

"Shaine!! Wake up! You have a date at 10 AM!" I woke up to my grandmother's voice. Ugh why is it so early? Night dates are a trend nowadays, while others are even hanging in the club. I'm not that kind of girl, remember we should look like we have this thing called "class". I'm not sure what kind of class though. Ha! Ha!

When it comes to choosing clothes, I would wear a decent one. I came out wearing white long sleeves and camel pants. As I went to my grandmother, I saw her raising an eyebrow at me.

"God! What is that Shaine Malabanan? Today's trend has a little "skin show" on the shoulder blades and chest!"

"What? How did you find out about those things? And how can I even show my breasts if I look like a wall, having small breasts?" I asked.

Grandma came up to me and removed my eyeglasses and made me wear contact lenses. Aw man! I wanted to look like a nerd so I wouldn't be noticed on the date. Besides, I really don't want to date.

"Grandma, I don't have eye glasses anymore, what else?"

"There's more." She took a pretty hairpin and tied my hair. She was not yet satisfied. Wow, this is the first time I saw my grandma act like a fashionista. She went to my dress and unbuttoned some of it. I can almost see my chest, wait do I really have one?

"Oh see, you look sexier! I'm sure the guy will fall for you right away!" she smiled at me, and I just smirked.

"Grandma is joking again." I hugged her tightly before leaving and looked at her as I walked away. Maybe Grandma already knew that I'm not taking this date seriously. Maybe Grandma thinks that I'm doing this for her because she knows that she'll pass away soon. I sure hope not.

The date was just there in our shop so that we would still have income. I arrived at the coffee shop and my staff was so surprised with my appearance today.

"You're so sexy Madame! If I were a man, I would have invited you on a date. I'll kiss you right away!" Pam jokes.

"You look even more beautiful Ms. Shaine!" Frank joked, he seemed to be telling the truth. He's not a good joker I'm telling you.

"You know guys? Do you need anything? I don't have extra money here, I'm sorry."

"No Madame! We're just telling the truth."

"Is it true? All right, I'll just sit at the table and wait for my date."

"How many guys have you rejected??" Frank asked.

"30 plus? Not sure. I'm beautiful!" I said as I tucked my hair on my ear.

"Maybe now is the time."

The one I was waiting for arrived in a few moments. He is also wearing white long sleeves and camel pants. Dang! Why is he wearing the same color combination like mine? Is that also his favorite? I question myself. Why is this my favorite color combination, you might ask? It's because Write Her often describes her main characters like this, so I assume this is also his favorite.

"I have a date here, why are you sitting at this table?" he confronted me.

"Huh? Why? I'm the owner of the shop. Besides, who are you dating by the way?" I asked.

"My best friend was supposed to go on this blind date, but he's late, so he let me go instead."

"I see, I have a blind date today. James is his name, maybe you know him?"

"Exactly! That's him. So how?"

"I don't know, I just plan to go on a date but I don't have a plan for a relationship. You?"

"Me? I don't even care. Oh, one more thing. When he asks us what happened with our date. Tell him we're not compatible." This man is really different.

"Okay okay I understand. You have many clothes to wear, why is it that color?"

"This? Just my favorite color." He answered honestly. He even responded quickly.

"Not because you're a fan of Write Her?"

"Are you crazy? I just know him personally but when it comes to fashion? He's not at my level."

"Ah really.. Oh well, hurry up! What does he look like? Try to read his books as well. How dare you! You know him personally but you're not familiar with his works?"

"I'm still thinking. I think I'm more handsome than that guy. Wait, you might hope that I really know him but no, it's a joke. I've been reading romance when I came to your shop and I like it."

"Yes! You're just in time, you're lucky because Write Her is going to write a romance novel for the first time!" Everyone is looking forward to it, because everything he writes always wins the book of the year. Another thing is that he will be publishing it online as well! It's pay-to-read but money is not an issue for this guy. He looks so rich and stable anyways.

"What? Online?"

"Yes! It means that his company will earn more because he is a famous writer. People will pay just to read his story."

"If his novel is worth it, why not?"

"Damn you! It's really worth it! Wait for me." We're having a smooth conversation but I still don't know his name.

"Ford is my name." before I even asked, he first raised his arm to shake hands.

"That's a car! Hihi. I'm joking. By the way I'm Shaine, I'll just make a drink for you, BUT! You shall pay me! I'll show you my latte art." Usually, I act like this to my customers, especially those who are interested in novels, movies, and etc., I encourage them to order from me! Hahaha how evil.

In the distance I saw Ford glancing at me, he was watching what I was doing. What is he? A writer? Videographer? or maybe I'm just extra pretty today. Thanks, grandma!

"Hey madame, you have a nice smile today. I thought you had a blind date?" Pam asked.

"Shut up. It's been canceled so I'm just entertaining that man so we can have a lot of sales, ok?"

After that, I made art. One was Rosetta and the other was heart and hurried to Ford's table.

"Two orders of cafe latte for Mr. Ford Handsome."

"Wow, your marketing is bad, I almost believe it."

"Hey no! The Rosetta is mine; you take the heart."

"For me?" he asked.

"Yes. You don't want my heart?"

"I thought there was an owner." I spilled the coffee I made. It's not because it was salty, but because Ford was too funny. "Why? I mean another customer." he clarified.

"What's with my heart? My brain is not functioning properly lately." I said because I was a little embarrassed there, I was the one flirting but it all seemed to come back to me.

"I'm going to introduce you to my friend. Your blind date for today. He's looking for a partner. You're in your mid 20's, aren't you?"

"Yes. Wait before that--"

"A writer." I don't know, as long as that guy is a writer, even if he's not that handsome, it looks like I'm going to like him.

"What?"

"You heard it right. He's a writer of MT Publishing where Write Her writes. I know that because I've been working in their office in the marketing department."

"Why didn't you tell me earlier?!" I approached Ford with a grimace while holding on to his arm with large muscles that I immediately released as well. Woah, nice muscles he has there! Hey no malicious thinking!! Erase! Erase!

"You didn't ask."

"Where is your friend now?"

"Look at this woman, I thought you didn't want to date?"
