Chapter 1: The adventure begins
In the mountains at the border of the Spaden Kingdom laid a small village with about 50 people living there. It was poor but was also often forgotten when it comes to taxes as they where living completely separated from the rest of the kingdom. But that was also the thing that marked them for doom as no one came to help them as they where hit by a natural disaster called a monster outbreak. That is a event that happens quit often as soon as there are multiple strong monsters are in one area making the weaker flee and attack everything in their way. And sadly that village was hit with exactly that a monster outbreak. It was nothing they could do, so they got overrun. It was brutal the smoke of the fires where see able in the whole country and the countries around making sure everyone was able to understand what happend in the village. But even then no one was coming to see if anyone survived as they didn't care. But there where two Survivors in a small basement of a farm. Two children where huddled together trying to be as quit as possible so that they wouldn't be found by the monsters moving around above them. Those kids where the ten year old Adrian, son of the biggest farmer in the village. In his arms laid a little girl of the age of 9. She was his childhood friend maybe even his half sister if the former rumors in the village of his father cheating on his mother with the mother of this girl. Her name is Emely. Looking at them you could see how they looked. Both had red hair like most people in the region. Adrian was not small neither really tall for his age, but he was already pretty well build as he always helped on the fields and other works. He was wearing a ripped west, shirt and pants who where dirty. For Emely she had rather small and delicate fram with a small dress on her that was also ripped and dirty. Both had wounds all over their bodies and thanks to their position they smeared their own blood all over each other. And this is where our story starts, shortly after the monster outbreak.
Adrian opened his eyes and instand of standing up he began to intensely listen to his surrounding area to be sure nothing of danger was close to them. Listening he only heard the soft breathing of Emely in his arms and nothing else. After making sure there where no close danger he slowly stood up, making sure Emely won't wake up because of him.
After successful getting out of Emelys embrace without waking her up Adrian made his way to the exist of the basement that was sealed with a stone. Taking a deep breath Adrian was getting ready to try pushing the stone out of the way. Pushing his shoulder against the stone and planted his foots firmly on the ground he began to push against the stone. He groaned as he pushed with everything he got. Slowly the stone moved till it was out of the way of the exit so that Adrian and Emely would fit through. Adrian looked at the stone and whispered to himself "If I wasn't as strong as I am, we would never get out. It's not really that big but a bit to much for a normal child." With that he grabbed his knife and looked outside. Seeing the still burning ruins of his home made him tear up and began to make him question why.
He shook it of for now as he remembered that he needed to look out for Emely. So going after the teaching of his father and grandfather he steadied his breath and gripped his knife harder. "I swear I will protect Emely. She is the last person I have." I declared softly to himself before going back into the small basement to wake up Emely. Looking at her sleeping form Adrian smiled before beginning to shake her gently to wake her up.
She began to slowly wake up after quit a while of shaking her. She slowly opened her eyes and turned towards Adrian and looked at him not saying anything at all. Adrian got worried and began to talk to Emely.
"Emely is everything alright? Did the wounds get worse?" His voice was filled with worry but all he got in respond was a head shake that told him yes first and then no. That is when Adrian noticed that Emely tried to speak but just nothing came out of her mouth. He saw the panic slowly raising in her face as she also realizing that she couldn't speak. Adrian reacted by pulling Emely into a tight embrace trying to clam her down. It took him a while but Emely began to clam down and reacted with her own hug pressing him to her body.
All this took a few more minutes before both began to climb out of the basement into the ruins of the village ducking behind the rubble to hide.
And with that their adventure inside this cruel world while building their own paradise in this world.
