Chapter 6 - His Spirit Guides Named Hora

When the blue sky above never left, Drake already lost track of the time he counted. After the heaven light came, the red blooded sky disappeared as well.

As the dragon who fell asleep seemed not to be woken up soon and Drake didn't know the way to go back, he then decided to follow what the dragon told him.

Having himself to meditate, he felt the irregular stream of powerful mana, started to flow normally in his body. The feeling of calmness brought balanced emotion to his heart. He continued doing this for a long time, but not sure for how long, as the blue sky above never turned into the dark night.

When he was already comfortable inside the calmness of his meditation, a sudden scraping sound made him jolt and lost his focus.

"What is that?" Drake curiously turned around looking for the resource of the sound but, there's no one around him.

While he continued to focus on his meditation, he felt another wave of shadow lurking behind him. But when he turned around, he didn't see anyone.

It was like that for a moment, feeling the pairs of eyes stalking him. He tried to ignore the stares, until he felt no longer comfortable.

Unpleased being watched, Drake focused on that shadow's presence. He then knew a mysterious creature hiding behind the sleeping dragon.

Focusing on his speed, he runs toward that creature. As he grabs one of its feet, a high-pitched shrill sound echoes in his ears.

"iikkkkkkkk!!!!"

The shape of a mysterious creature finally seen. It was a little dragon, with glistening dark blue scales piercing on its skin. Drake eventually saw those lingering eyes which were stalking him for a long time.

When he recognized that this little creature had the same yellow color as the big dragon, He then realized this must be one of its children.

The little dragon, as his feet still hanging on air, trying to release himself from Drake's grasp. "Let me go you fool!"

Hearing the yelping voice of that little creature, The big dragon, who was silently resting nearby, fluttered his eyes open.

When Drake sensed the wake of that big dragon, he then felt this situation is not a favor for him. After all, he was right now grabbing one of the little dragon feet.

Drake let go of his grasp and lifted both of his hands up. "I was curious. That little dragon was gazing at me non stop. I thought it was just two of us in here."

The big dragon flapped his wings and stood in front of Drake. "I think we missed the most important things." He then, once again bowed in front of Drake. "I'm Rohans. And this little blue dragon is my child, Hora."

Drake returned the bow, "I'm Drake, I'm sorry I grabbed your feet like before."

But that little dragon averted his head. "Hh!"

"Hora!" The roaring sound of Rohans, brought Hora into a sulking mood. Drake could only see the scene.

Shaking his head, Rohan felt helpless of his child. "I'm sorry. This child is still so young and needs to learn. But I hope you'll get along well together. He will be your spirit guide."

That's a surprise for Drake as well. He thought it was Rohans job as a guardian. "Rohans, It's not you who is supposed to be my guardian?"

"No, I'm already old, and I will take my long rest. My last job is to train you using your power." he explained to Drake, "As a dragon, we're the breach for heaven and humans. That's why every chanter would have dragons as their spirit guys."

"Then, how will you help me?"

"I need you to go to the west forest and search for the cave. There's a dragon's tears hiding inside. Go there and find it. I will explain to you the mission of heaven, as well help you training your power before I take a very long rest."

The dragon, then facing his child telling him his job as the heaven spirit creature. "Hora! You have to grow up. Don't be like a child anymore. You'll be this chanter spirit guide."

"No! I don't want to. This man is so weak. He doesn't like what a chanter you told me before."

Hearing that, Drake felt annoyed toward that little creature. "What did you say? You think I want little bumps like you as my spirit guides?"

As the quarrel started, Rohan felt like his head was going to burst. He really needed a rest. Carrying heaven energy was a hard task anyways.

"Stop! Do you think both of you got to choose?!" Speechless with both of them, Rohans finally decided to send both of them back to reality.

"Free me from a headache won't you, get out from this dimension. Now!"

But Drake, who still had a lot of questions in his head, couldn't satisfy his need to gain more information. "Wait.. not yet.. "

As Rohans drove them away, Drake felt his surroundings start to change. Within seconds, the dimension melted, directly turning back into the room from the pub. But surprisingly, the sigil he created before had vanished like an air.

That little dragon Hora, seemed to observe his surroundings. He then saw the book Drake used before.

"I hate to explain the important things to stupid people like you." he looked down on Drake directly.

"Seriously, are you looking for a fight right now?" Truthfully, Drake didn't want to have a bad relationship with his spirit guy. As Rohan said, he couldn't randomly choose another dragon to help him, not that he knew more dragons than these two.

"Listen, because I'm going to explain it only once. When you finish using a sigil, it will vanish and not leave any trace of magic. As for this book, I will keep it with me. And as for my presence, no one can see me if I don't want them to."

Curiously, Drake asked, "What do you mean by keeping it?"

"Well, I can create dimensions anytime I want. I can save anything there. The place you were before, was actually a dimension my dad created."

That's so nice if it's true. Drake thought Hora power to create a dimension would be so useful.

"Hey. I know what you think! Don't you dare exploit my holy power!" Said Hora with pride on his chest. "Hmph! Since you are so weak, I'm gonna leave. Call me only if you need something urgent."

"So no more conversation?" Inside his head, he had a lot of things to be asked.

Hora ignored what Drake said and made himself disappear.

No energy to humor it, Drake laid his body on the floor. The sky outside the window was still dark. He then knew, the time in that dimension were different from the time in his reality.

Tomorrow should be the start. "Don't worry grandma. I would become stronger, and keep my promise. I will find my own way to live! Though I have to trampled anyone in the process."

____

As the dawn came, a couple of young men enter the pub. "Oh Barek! What the hell did I tell you!"

Drake, who stood by the back door ready to leave, paused his step.

After catching some sleep from the long tiredness, his urgent decision to move had to be done immediately. Who knew, the Wouster knights might be looking for him.

His next destination was the west forest, he had to find that dragon's tears. Getting as much information as possible should be his focus right now.

Looking back at the bunch of men who just passed him, his alert was on stand. They had swords on them, but couldn't possibly be a knight. And someway, Drake could sense the greediness from them.

"I saw the diamond! I saw it!" Said one of the men.

"But you can't do anything! Too many monster roaming near the cave!"

"Fuck! How many men we have lost again?"

As the diamond was mentioned by them, Drake Intending to listen for more. The diamond was a rare gems that even a small kingdom could only gain for a little of it. it wouldn't hurt to stay for more minutes. His instinct said this could be somewhat useful.

Drake then went back around the counter to listen those guys.

Razz, who knew what Drake was doing, shook his head. He whispered, "Don't go there. You won't be able to come back."

"Where's the cave?" Asked Drake.

That old man sighed, "It's in the west, the cave is inside the forest. Don't go there, I already warned you. Not even the highest rank of knights could go there alone and come back without damage."

West forest. He smirked, what a nice coincidence. Heaven really knew how to work.

Drake looked at the time. It's time to leave. He too, had study about the monster before. When the sun was high in the sky, the monster wasn't as active as at night. Having himself reach in the forest before midday was the best decision he could think of.

But before everything, Drake needed one last item to handle those monsters. "Do you know where I can have poison or strong drugs?"
