It seemed he noticed the disbelief in my eyes as his brows furrowed. "What is it?"
I shook my head, gawking at him before I spoke. "Is this some kind of joke? Reverse psychology, perhaps?" I asked suspiciously.

Minutes ago, he'd been chastising me in the presence of Elsa without bothering to hear my side of the story.
Heck, I slapped him and HE was the one apologizing now?
Meanwhile, Kaene's frown deepened when he heard my words. "What do you mean by that? Why are you acting like this is the first time I'm apologizing?"
I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "Because it is, Kaene!"
I didn't want to make a big deal about it but with Kaene, every small step forward was a huge leap to me.
