Chapter 24: Solo Debut Goal

The game was winding down, with Enyimba leading by a single goal. Matthew had already made a significant impact, providing the cross that led to the goal. But he wasn't done yet.

In the 88th minute, Matthew found himself with the ball at his feet, just inside the opposing team's half. He looked up and saw the goalkeeper off his line, anticipating a long ball over the top.

Without hesitation, Matthew took off, sprinting down the wing with the ball at his feet. He beat one defender with ease, then another, his speed and agility leaving them in the dust.

As he approached the penalty area, the goalkeeper came out to meet him, but Matthew was too quick. He feinted to the left, then cut back to the right, leaving the goalkeeper stranded.

With the goal at his mercy, Matthew slotted the ball home with ease, securing a 2-0 win for Enyimba. The crowd erupted in cheers, and Matthew's teammates mobbed him once again. He had scored a solo debut goal, a moment he would never forget.

The commentators were over the moon. "What a moment for Matthew! A solo debut goal, and what a goal it was! He's announced himself to the league in style!

As Matthew celebrated with his teammates, he knew that this was just the beginning. He had a long way to go, but he was ready for the challenge. Matthew's teammates were equally impressed. "Welcome to the team, Matthew!" they chanted, as they lifted him onto their shoulders and carried him around the pitch in celebration.

As the team made their way off the pitch, Matthew was stopped by the media for an interview. "How does it feel to score your first goal, Matthew?" one of the reporters asked.

"It's an amazing feeling," Matthew replied, beaming with pride. "I'm just glad I could help the team win. We worked hard for this victory, and it feels great to have gotten the three points."

"And what about the records you broke today?" another reporter asked. "How does it feel to be the youngest player to debut and score in the league, and win the Man of the Match award on your debut?"

"It's a great honor," Matthew said, his eyes shining with excitement. "I'm just glad I could make my debut in style. I'm looking forward to many more games and many more goals."

The reporters nodded, impressed by Matthew's confidence and humility. He was a star in the making, and they couldn't wait to see what he did next.

The commentators exclaimed "The 15-year-old sensation has taken the league by storm, and we can't wait to see what he does next! And he's broken another record, folks! Matthew is now the youngest goalscorer in the league's history, surpassing a record that has stood for over a decade! And to top it all off, he's been awarded the Man of the Match award on his debut, with a goal and an assist to his name!"
