Fireworks blasted up in the sky, heralding the competition between the various sects.
Down below, the massive Jiang Shian Colosseum was filled with the clamor of over 20 thousand people, coming from various cities and provinces all in order to cheer for their local sect.
Inside one of the waiting rooms allotted for the Transient Blades, Xiao and Yanmei had both pooled in the spirit stones needed to produce well designed combat uniforms. A stylish black battle vest, sleeved with matching black pants. The letters "(***)", meaning transient was printed in bold in its back with two jian blades crossed under it.
Since the waiting room had nothing but the bare necessities of chairs and tables, mirrors were absent, Luqing was having difficulty tying her hair into her signature buns.
"Let me help." Xiao grabbed the twin ties before the cat could even protest and began working on Luqing's hair.
Although Xiao was once again behind Luqing, the roughness Xiao exhibited from before had vanished, tenderness taking its place as Xiao fashioned Luqing's buns into mimicking what would look like cat ears. A hair design indicating how proud she is of her spirit beast nature even in her human form.
Even if Luqing was still adjusting to being mated with a human, such simple assistance from Xiao made Luqing's heart skip a beat. How Xiao handled her yesterday called for her beastly nature to submit, but her pride would remain unyielding. Even right now she was fighting the urge to nuzzle against Xiao.
"There, all set." Xiao declared.
"T-thank you." The flustered Luqing stammered.
"You know, I'm not used to you acting all meek. What happens in the bedroom, stays in the bedroom."
What Xiao was getting at, was that all that talk of 'domination' was strictly bedroom play. Luqing was free to her regular haughty self around Xiao.
"That's not how it works with spirit beasts, Xiao!"
A simple kiss on the cheek made Luqing blush like a ripe tomato.
"Well, I'm not a spirit beast, am I? Just be yourself around me, like what Yanmei does."
Before Xiao knew it, Luqing turned around and kissed her with such intensity that it made Xiao's masked eyes widen. Luqing's thumb pried open Xiao's mouth and entered her tongue within, wrestling with Xiao's own.
Bit by bit, Luqing moved them both until she had Xiao pinned against a wall.
Once satisfied with Xiao's sweet taste, Luqing broke their deep kiss to warn her new mate. Luqing's eyes turned to her slit ones as her feral instincts threatened to break free, she gazed deep into Xiao's bewildered eyes, and said, "Unlike Yannei, I can get…rough. Rougher than you could ever imagine. As a payback for yesterday, I'll show you how to properly dominate your mate one of these days."
Yanmei entered the premises, and immediately clicked her tongue. Luqing pinning Xiao was tame but still something too private for Fang Xuan's eyes, it's a good thing she made him wait rather than entering the waiting room with her.
"I knew it! Both of you, the introductions are about to commence, save your horniness for later!"
The two separated and dispersed the lust they harbored, like Yanmei said, the three of them would have plenty of time to indulge in each other after the tournament.
Now that the two are in proper form, Yanmei called Fang Xuan in.
As soon as the bright eyed Fang Xuan entered the room, the huge bagua dao on his back started reacting, it had gotten to the point that it was physically shaking by itself while oozing with power.
Fang Xuan brandished his seemingly possessed sword, "Elder Xiao, the sword is acting up again!"
The three of them know the exact reason why.
Although they could speak and clear things up to Fang Xuan about Luqing's addition as their 3rd member, they can't exactly do that to an unawakened sword.
Witnessing the commotion firsthand, Zhen had ejected a sealing talisman from her mask. On it is written the characters "**", forming 'soul seal'.
<< It is a soul seal talisman, attach it to his blade and it shall temper its aggression. >>
Doing just that, Xiao splattered the talisman on the flat edge of the Bagua Dao, instantly rendering the blade into normalcy as if it didn't have a soul dwelling within.
"What if the blade acts up again, master?" Xiao asked.
Zhen's voice spoke inside again in her mind, <<The blade will not as long as Fang Xuan is weaker than the seal's limit. I made that seal, you can be sure that it would remain there for…quite a while. Unless he will manually rip it off. >>
Now that Fang Xuan's rampaging sword had been taken care of, it was time for them to head out and face their would be opponents.
"Are you all ready?" Xiao asked, there was no way she would get bested with her current level and skill, but the world of cultivation was always filled with the unknown. For all she knows an opponent tougher than that demonic baldie might fall down from the heavens.
The rest of them nodded, sharing Xiao's confidence except for Fang Xuan. Although he had leaps in his current cultivation level, he was still nowhere near the three women. But he mustered a smile for now was not the time to be thinking about inadequacies, it was to try and give it his all to entice people to flock to his sect.
With the rest falling behind her, Xiao entered the stage. The roaring of all 20 thousand people bore down upon them.
The team lined up along with the other participants. From the corner of their vision, Xiao and the rest saw the massive Transient Blades banner carried by the enthusiastic disciples.
All 17 sects of their region would compete in solidarity in order to avoid sect wars while at the same time, keeping tabs on who was the current sect.

From up high, the three heavenly cultivators stuck out like sore thumbs, their clothing inappropriate for the times. They gazed at the contestants below with their enhanced vision making it appear like they were sitting right in the front.
"That woman down there with the long green hair, she is going to be our new comrade." The man with the red eyes pointed out.
The dignified Qiuyue sat crossed legged next to her colleague. She raised her brow, for a mortal realm cultivator, the woman's cultivation is indeed high, judging it would probably be around 'Heavenly Tyrant,' half stars. For someone taking the third seat, it was highly laughable to even consider. She was lucky she still has a good hundred years to mature or Qiuyue wouldn't even entertain the thought.
Qiuyue was about to berate bao on what a terrible teacher he is, until her eyes wandered to a masked individual.
A mask that she would never be able to forget.
I had an issue with warning me about using Chinese characters, hence the weird (***) usage.
