You have leveled up. (LV.3)
"Level?"
When the word 'level' was mentioned, it meant that he should've gained more status points!.
It was at that moment Aidan confirmed the validity of his ability that the more he fought, the stronger he would become. He recited it to himself that this was reality now.
After a tough battle with the wolves, Aidan was left speechless. Precisely speaking, he was surprised by his new strength.
"Okay, I should stay alert to survive. If I'm clumsy here, it can cost us our lives. I don't know what's going on, but so far, so good, right?" Aidan reassured himself.
Hearing the strange screaming echoing down the hallway, he then took a deep breath.
The office was located on the fifth floor. Aidan checked the situation outside the building.
The streets below the building were lined with corpses and dozens of creatures running around attacking civilians.
"It's not any safer outside"
But he couldn't stay here either. With the red fur wolves walking inside the building, he needed to cautiously find his way down to the basement floor.
Aahh," a scream from Calvin could be heard from behind him.
Aidan turned his head to his surprise saw Calvin on the ground with a surprised look on his face, stunned by what he assumed was the blue window.
"...Ugh? Calvin, are you okay?!"
"Ah, Yeah!"
It was none other than the blue window he could see by his emotionless expression. Aidan felt relieved when he saw his friend was okay while he fought to fend off the enemies.
Calvin sat on the ground in a mindless daze. Aidan walked over to see if everything was okay.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Uh, I'm fine," he wasn't considering the startled look on his face. He kept staring towards the wall as if something was there. Even after waving his hand through the air he still kept on staring at the same place.
Aidan had an assumption in mind since the same situation had happened to him.
"Are you hurt Calvin?" Aidan asked.
He noticed Calvin acting strange the way he reacted after fighting the wolves he could only assume it was the blue window.
"See a floating blue window?" Aidan asked faintly, smirking.
"No, yes he stopped talking and turned over towards Aidan. "Wait, how do you know that?"
"So it's true. But how was he able to see it? Unless he killed one of the wolves, he must've hit a wolf to fend it off."
"I'll explain later, we need to get out of here first," said Aidan.
"What do you mean later? his mind was in turmoil, he wanted answers. He didn't know what was happening to him and Aidan seemed to know what was happening. He couldn't understand how Aidan could be this calm.
"What is going on ?" asked Calvin.
"It's a long story, just give me some time to…wrap my head around everything"
.
"Just follow me for a moment". They stopped walking after a few steps before reaching the emergency staircase.
"Say status," he said.
"Say what?" Calvin didn't understand.
"Just do it," Adam insisted.
"Status," he hesitated but none the less Calvin muttered the words.
To his surprise, the blue window appeared once more. He looked back at Aidan with his mouth wide open, awaiting answers.
Calvin slumped down on the floor with the wall behind his back. He still couldn't believe it. But a floating blue window was right in front of him. He could see his name along with countless numbers displaying his strength, which he couldn't comprehend.
I'm impressed by your status. You must have been working out a lot.
He took a chance to ask Calvin who was still in a daze. Since he couldn't see the blue window displaying his status.
Calvin fell silent as his words explained everything that had happened to him up until now. But he couldn't comprehend how the world had changed so fast. After what Aidan told him about the blue window, this bad feeling of reality falling brought him back to his senses.
**
But before he could explain any further, a scream came from down the emergency staircase. His eyes glanced at a woman who was attempting to crawl her way up the stairs terrified by the thing chasing her
"More of them?" said Aidan as another red-furred wolf appeared.
"Growl!!"
"Grrr!!!"
The red-furred wolf who was chasing the woman let out a familiar sound of a loud howl, followed by more wolves appearing out of nowhere gathered behind the wolf climbing the stairs.
Aidan gulped down his saliva as he saw the whole pack staring at them. He knew the situation didn't look good for them. He didn't even pay attention to the woman being mauled by those wolves before them.
"Growl!"
"Grrr!!!"
"We need to get out of here, we need a car."
Glancing towards the direction of the elevator, he saw people fighting in an attempt to get into the elevator.
"Definitely the stairs," said Aidan.
