Chapter 40

After crossing the desert and mountains Amber and Draemra stop at a sign.

"Your next task will be to get in the top twent of the monthly tournament held at this town."

Entering the town she looks around for what could be considered a message board. After searching for a while she finds it. Shaking her head, 'Two weeks till I can attempt to move on. Well this gives me some time to try a few things with the mana cores. As well as allowing me to form more miasma cores. So much to do. I need more time. But I can't spend to long here.

'Well I guess I should try to find a training room that has more mana and stay there for a week. Then do the same with a miasma filled room. Then compete in the tournament. I will also have two days before the tournament to understand how to utilize magic cores better,' she scratches her head.

'Well then I better get to a mana room then. No time like the present,' shaking her head she walks around. Locating a training area she walks in and asks for a room, "Young girl do you have any monster cores to pay with?"

"I just got to town, didn't know I had to pay with monster cores. I have been using them on my panther I tamed. I shall be right back then," she walks out the door.

A couple of hours later she walks in. Placing a bag full of monster cores, "Is this enough for one week?"

Looking into the bag the clerk reels back, "It's only been two hours. How did you get so many? And from such strong monsters to boot. Your magical creature can only help you so much."

"Just kill them. It isn't that difficult," she shrugs.

"You don't understand what monsters these are from then. Most of these are from the dangerous herds of gartalems. Those goat like monsters are highly territorial and even the the chimalaers, that hunt just about anything stay away from large groups of them."

"Is there something wrong? It's just some monsters," hearing this someone looks over at her.

"Young girl don't you understand, it is a shock due to the fact that you have just started being able to form mana cores, most likely not to long ago. So for someone that inexperienced to take out creatures like that is a shock," he pats her back.

"Even a lot of us more experienced people tend to stay away from even an average sized herd of gartalems. Hey how many of their cores do you see there?" someone else asks.

"A rough count of the number of gartalem cores is several dozen," he says. Counting more detailed he steps back, "There is no way she could have done so even with a panther that evolved into a magical beast."

"How many? We want to know," the first man says.

"You won't believe it but she took out an average sized herd of gartalem. Well slightly above average," the clerk says.

Shaking their heads, "There is no way she did so. How can a runt like her taking out about 100 of those damn things. No way!"

One man goes to strike her. Ducking underneath she uppercuts the arm. Then follows it with a round house kick.

As the guy hits the wall she sighs, "Not even a challenge. No wonder some weak gartalems would make you freak out so bad. Unskilled and slow attacks like that would cause one to falter in the face of adversity."

"The clerk looks at her and says, "Now then no need to get so feisty young one, Here is your bag back. I only took what is needed for one week in one of the mana rooms."

Nodding her head amber takes the bag and a key and walks. Upon entering the room she is amazed at the concentration of mana in the air. 'I can easily form several hundred cores quickly here. The mana is at least ten times greater in concentration. This will make it much easier. Well granted all the mana cores I already have also speeds up the process. But this level of mana is great. A week within this room, should be enough time to form enough cores, to flesh out the planets within the universe I have created.

'If I don't actually make those more planet like then calling it a universe isn't right. So time to get started with that. But I also haven't even got one core to the next stage. The cores are all so gaseous. Maybe they need to be condensed more and become denser similar to water.'

After spending a week within the mana room she walks out. Paying for a week in a miasma filled room she walks to the room. After another week she walks out of the miasma room. Going out into the field she starts to hunt monsters.

'I know how to utilize both mana and miasma in order to enhance my body and to create weapons. However I am just scratching the surface. Clearly Nyx is able to enter the shadows already. I should be able to enter into an area where one of the elemental realms meet Midyarle. I am probably more in tune with the flame realm. I did burn my way through a mana net. Let's just activate both a mana and miasma core just to see where it leads me.'

As she does so, she slowly vanishes from Draemre's sight. Wondering where she went, he stays still. Within the flames she sees not much besides red flames. From time to time she can see flames of different colors. Finding this stranges she takes a step forward and leaves. Seeing her reappear Draemre jumps onto her.

Smiling she says, "I am going to be experimenting with some thing for a while. You can go hunt if you get hungry. Just meet meat at this spot."

Nodding his head, Draemre goes to have some fun hunting on his own. Seeing this she goes back to enter the flames.
