2. Call Me Hiro… Hiro!

He ran around the battlefield, killing one beast after another. His legs and his hands had a mind of their own. Running, dodging and killing the beasts he met easily.

He saved some lives in the process, but he didn't bother about that. What he was after was something else.

"Weak," he muttered as he pulled out his dagger.

With a turn he stabbed the jaws of a beast that had sneaked on him.

"Sigh,"

Raising his other hand, he jabbed his other dagger into the beast neck.

~Rar~

He pulled his dagger out while staring at the sky. His blood boiled ferociously. It had reached a great height and he swore he could feel his skin burn from within. Maybe it was just his imagination or his subconscious but that didn't matter to him now. He wanted to kill more, but unfortunately there was none around.

Only people remained around him. Some fell to ground exhausted. Some were severely injured and some ran about aiding others. Every single one of the beast had been killed.

"You did well boy," a voice sounded behind him.

He looked over and found the man who had handed him the dagger. A very slim looking man, with black hair and brown eyes and was a foot shorter than his seven foot long spear.

"The name is Hiroshi, what's your name?"

"Name? Hmm, I don't know. Thank you for this," he said and turned around.

"You don't know your name?"

He nodded as he stared intensively at a distance in front of him.

"Stop joking with me boy,"

"I'm not joking, I don't remember anything. I don't even know what I'm doing here,"

"Memory loss, huh? Maybe you hit your head really hard, haha,"

"By the orders of the commander, everyone is to recuperate for thirty minutes. We will be heading to the eastern frontline,"

A loud voice announced for the whole battlefield to hear. Hiroshi frowned and snorted.

"Hmph, why the hell are they sending us there? Do they want to make us cannon fodders,"

"What do you mean?"

"By the orders of the commander, everyone is to recuperate for thirty minutes. We will be heading to the eastern frontline," the announcement came again.

"The eastern frontline is frequent to seventh level beast, they are as strong as third stage Nascent soul realm masters. We are only at the Core formation realm," Hiroshi replied.

"Huh?"

Tilting his head, he stared at Hiroshi with a blank face.

"Right, you said you don't remember," Hiroshi scratched his head. Staring at the boy in front of him, Hiroshi didn't know what to say. The boy looked fifteen, may be sixteen. By his guess, the boy should be around five and a half feet tall. Just like him, the boy had black hair and brown eyes, but the boy had a baby kind of face. A face that should not be on the battlefield. "Sit, let's rest,"

"Can't we go fight now?"

"Disobedience to the commander's order is death on the spot. Our commander is one unreasonable man, so no you can't go fight unless it's time to,"

"Quite annoying," he said and sat down.

"Yeah, it is. Here you go," Hiroshi tossed him a bottle.

"What's this?"

"A bottle of pills. The blue pill is a healing pill, the red is an energy replenishing pill, and the yellow is a foundation establishment pill,"

"Huh?"

"Haha, there are two of each in that bottle. Use them well,"

"What about you?"

"I got a few more. Besides, I might die where we are headed, it's better I share them than let them waste,"

"It's that dangerous?"

"Yeah,"

"Hey, promise me you will live,"

The voice he had heard while he was unconscious rang in his ears again. "Ah!"

"Hey, promise me you will live,"

"Are you alright?" Hiroshi asked.

"You don't hear that?"

"Hear what?"

"Never mind, it's just my mind playing tricks on me,"

"Hmm, well take the healing pills and treat your wounds. They may be light, but they might be difference between life and death later,"

"Mhm?"

Hiroshi took two pills and closed his eyes. After watching Hiroshi for a while, he opened the bottle. He took out a blue pill and swallowed. The taste of the pill was wonderful

From the moment the pill entered his mouth, and then along his throat to his stomach, he felt a refreshing feeling. And something flowed from his stomach to other part of his body.

He smiled and the other contents of the bottle into his palm.

A long while after, Hiroshi opened his eyes. He was greeted by a bright and cheerful smile.

"Can I have some more pills?" the boy in front of him asked.

"I just gave you some,"

"I ate all of them,"

"What? Are you insane? Don't you know… right, you don't remember," Hiroshi smacked his forehead. "I forgot to tell you. Boy, you aren't supposed to take it in one go,"

"Why? It's sweet,"

"Haha, sweet you say. Yeah it is, but too much in one go could kill you. And taking a lot of pills isn't also good for your foundation,"

"I don't understand, why is something sweet bad?"

"I just explained," Hiroshi laughed. "You remind me of my son back in the day,"

"Is he here?"

"No he is late. He died in battle. His name was Kai by the way,"

"I should probably get myself a name,"

Hiroshi looked at him and laughed. "You are a weird lad,"

"Why?"

"Nothing. You want a name right? Why don't I give you one?"

"Sure,"

"Let's see, something simple. Hiro,"

"Isn't your name Hiroshi? You just gave me a part of it?"

"Haha, Hiro means abundant. You displayed abundant of strength back then,"

"Hmm? I guess it's better than nothing. I'm Hiro from now on,"

Hiroshi shook his head slightly at him. Though he sounded indifferent, he looked very happy. He felt great having a name.

"You'll call me Hiro from now on and not boy,"

"Huh? Haha, I'll call you what I want boy,"

"Call me Hiro… Hiro!"

"Haha, okay, boy Hiro,"

"You! Fine give me pills,"

"I said you can't have that now,"

"But…" he frowned and turned.

"What's wrong?"

"They are coming, lots of them,"

"Huh?"

Hiro got to his feet with a smile on his face.

"Did you mean the beast?" Hiroshi asked getting up.

"Yes, lots of them,"

Hiro kicked the ground and shot high into the sky. Hiroshi mouth opened wide, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Hiro had only kicked once, but the height he had reached surpassed what Hiroshi could reach with one kick.

"What realm is he at?"

All those who saw him kick the ground, had their mouth open or their eyes widened.

Up in the sky Hiro's view widened and the smile on his face grew. A large herd of beasts were storming over. He fell down to ground and crashed landed. Yet he was extremely happy.

"A huge amount is rushing towa…"

Drums sounded and the people who were seated and resting rushed to their feet. They gathered quickly, arranging themselves in formation.

A red and blue light in the sky shot passed them, towards the incoming herd. Several dozen lights followed after it as quickly as they could.

"What's that?" Hiro asked.

"Those are the nascent soul realm masters who are at least the sixth stage," Hiroshi replied. "This is bad,"

"What's wrong now?"

"For them to take action means there are eight and ninth level beast leading the charge,"

"Hmm, understood. See ya,"

"Boy! Hey, Hiro,"

Hiroshi called to Hiro, who had ran away at full speed. "Dumbass, I hope you survive. How can you run so fast?"
