The Promise of Love
Damien was feeling warm in his chest, knowing that if someone like Reva finally said these words, she must have been thinking about him a lot more than he thought.
The two kept on hugging each other and stayed like that as time just seemed to have frozen for them. It was as if they wanted to stay like this forever and cherish this moment.
Damien slowly took a step back and raised her head, and saw how her eyes were brimming with tears.
He felt guilty and gently kissed one of her eyes as he whispered, "I am sorry...I never meant to deceive you. I just have a hard time trusting people…"
Reva could feel that he was truly sorry, but at the same time, she wondered what happened to him to make him be wary of others like this.
She felt that it couldn't be anything good and felt bad for him and thought that maybe she accused him wrongly.
"It's...okay...I understand...I am also to blame...I hid things from you as well…" Reva said in a taut tone.
