Plight of my Empire

<p>"Huh. Looks like I have reincarnated. But where am I? " James asked as he checked his surroundings. He was in the bedroom. A lavish bedroom. Full with King's size bed, paintings, and other expensive showpieces. <br/><br/>Looks like the previous owner of the body was into art. <br/><br/>He was in a palace. One of the biggest palaces in the Empire. But it would still pale in comparison with European ones. Maybe after stability, he would build a big palace for himself, something which would make the Europeans jealous. <br/><br/>"My Liege, I am Luthor, your new assistant from today onwards. " Luthor introduced himself as he entered the room. <br/>Luthor was old, probably in his fifties. White hair, partial baldness, but still tall. <br/><br/>"Ah Luthor. I have a test for you. Do you know the empire? " James, now Arthur, asked. He needed to learn about his empire. But he cannot ask directly as it would make his suspicious. <br/><br/>"Yes my Liege. "<br/><br/>"Well then Luthor. Tell me about the Indus Empire. It's conditions, resources, foreign relations, domestic relations and problems in the empire." <br/><br/>Luthor took some time to think then answered" My Liege, Indus Empire is very big. Many call it a subcontinent. But it has many religious groups. There are many riots between some of the major ethnic groups. Some of them demand complete independence, some demand more rights. <br/>We have the Chin Dynasty as our northern neighbors. In the east we have a declining Persian Empire which is at constant war with Ottamons. Our southern neighbors are the islands of Sri Lankan which is under Anglo occupation. We are surrounded by the Lankan Ocean on three sides. On our west lies the kingdom of Birma. <br/>We are currently in hostile relations with Persia and may go to war with them soon. Chin Dynasty is our major trading partner except for Americana and some European countries. We export spices, textiles, grains and some minerals like coal and iron. <br/>But due to grain exports, we have serious domestic grain shortage leading to famines. Also our infrastructure is not very developed like the Europeans. Our army had around 1 million men and 1.5 million more in reserves. We still use German tanks we bought from them and those Anglo rifles. Our navy is limited too merchant ships and few warships which the Anglo Empire gave to us. Our people are living in poverty due to the extreme gap between the wealthy and the poor. <br/> We have many coal and iron deposits in our North eastern Region. We have also found several bauxite, copper and zinc deposits. We also have found this weird sand in our southern beaches which the scientists have said is radioactive."<br/><br/>Arthur sighed. There was a lot to do. <br/>"Ok Luthor, you passed. Now go. Arrange a meeting with all the influential people in the Empire a week later. I will present some development plans for the Empire. "</p>
