Kia sighed and pressed a button on his watch. Today's task was to kill an infected. He had already done that, thankfully, but there was another task. He paused, taking a deep breath, and his face turned pale.
"Collect hospital supplies from an abandoned hospital," he read out loud, his voice trailing off as dread settled in. That was his second task.
"That's the same task I have."
Kia's gaze shifted from his watch to Logan in disbelief. "You? You have to go to the hospital too?"
"Seems like it," Logan nodded.
Kia's fist clenched. "Why? Why do we have to do this? I don't like this." He muttered the last part.
"None of us do," Logan replied quietly. "But we have to do it."
Unlike Kia, who was freaking out, Logan seemed calm—too calm, as if he had been through this or worse situations. Hospitals, of all places, would be flooded with zombies.
"What if we don't make it back?" Kia asked quietly.
