Normally, when presented with an invitation like that, I would rush ahead and get right down to the business, whether by starting the full course of setting up the mood, making sure we were both properly prepared, and only then doing the deer or, if we were both in the mood for it, going straight for the goal.
Not this time, though.
Instead of rushing ahead, I took one, slow step forward before coming to a complete stop.
Then, I took another step.
And another.
By my fourth step, I stood face to face with my beloved, all the while trying not to think about anything while randomly following my impulses.
