This morning in Fay's world felt different than all the other times when I woke up surrounded by the clean air, as opposed to the thick smog of the overdeveloped world.
And it was different for one, simple reason.
'It really feels good to wake up with a roof above your head, huh?'
As spartan as our lives were set to be early on, the luxury of a private room was one of the benefits I could force with my means.
Sure, it would be just a short walk if I wanted to rest at Makary's compound, but still. That short walk, both ways, would cost me time.
And right now, time was the resource we had the greatest shortage of.
'There should still be some time before the bell,' I thought after casting a glance towards the three layers of tarp that enclosed my small, temporary shed. They were dark, indicating a complete lack of sunlight outside.
