REWORKED

After single-handedly dragging himself and his sister out of poverty, Calle was finally able to live and enjoy his life, having everything that he and his sister could ever want. However, what would happen if suddenly a god-like existence that had just saved his life told him that the world that he was currently living in was about to completely change? Strength will become the absolute ruler of the world and the weak wouldn't even have the privilege to have a will of their own. "But fret not, I will give you the strength to destroy those rules. The strong will bend their knees to you and the weak will worship you." The god-like existence said while looking at Calle straight in his eyes. Calle who had worked his blood and tears to make himself and his sister live a comfortable and joyful life, of course, refused to let his life be dictated by others and accepted the offer. But who would've known that the power that was given to him was the absolute power that all the rulers of the universe coveted. He was given the power to conquer dungeons and later call upon the monsters inside to do his bidding. He would raise his right hand and hundreds of monsters would raise their swords for him. His left hand soon followed and hundreds of beasts would bare their fangs against his enemies. His mouth would open and hundreds of gates would open as mythical creatures from the legends walked out and stood by his side and obeyed his command. Whenever he goes, his armies would be with him. Follow Calle's journey as he conquered dungeons and use them to fight against gods and higher existences alike as he became the strongest existence in the universe. ====== The start will be quite slow to get you to know more about the characters, but as the story progresses, the pace will pick itself up. And in my opinion, it will definitely be a story worthy of your time. ====== **Cover art is not mine, if you are the owner and want me to take it down, please contact me.

Calle’s Decision

"Will you become the Dungeon Sovereign?"

Calle froze as he heard this question. He didn't know what Gilgamesh meant as he had never heard of a dungeon sovereign before. But just from hearing those words come out of Gilgamesh's mouth, Calle couldn't help but feel the immense weight of those words as they carried a sense of overflowing power and authority.

Calle didn't know how, but he could feel that there was not a single lie that had come out of Gilgamesh's mouth. Be it about the absolute strength that he would get if he accepted Gilgamesh's offer or the fact that chaos would soon descend onto his world and it would change his world forever.

However, Calle wasn't someone that was born yesterday and he had his own fair share of bitter experiences in his life. And one of those experiences had taught him one thing. And that there was rarely a free meal in this world.

"What's the catch in all this?" He asked the man in front of him.

"No, there's no catch. You will be able to do whatever you want with the power and you don't have to do anything for it." Gilgamesh replied with a firm voice.

When Calle heard this, he unconsciously furrowed his brows and squinted his eyes. If there was anything that he had learned from hearing the news and surfing the internet, he knew that anything that was too good to be true is always just like that, it was really too good to be true. So he couldn't help but doubt Gilgamesh's words after hearing such an offer coming from him.

Realizing what Calle was currently thinking, Gilgamesh spoke once again,

"Calle, those gods might use lies and deceit to trick you, mortals. But beings such as myself will never do that as it will only sully our names."

"Just our words are enough to affect decillions of lives. We're very careful about our words, and lying is one of the things that we will never do."

Calle had several questions popping up inside his head the moment Gilgamesh's words entered his ears. But one of the most important questions that he had was,

"Gilgamesh, who exactly are you?"

As if he had been waiting for Calle to ask this question, Gilgamesh smiled with a wide grin as the domineering aura slightly came back to his body, and the wild and untamed vibes returned to his visage before he opened up his mouth and said,

"I can't tell you right now, but if you learn the truth about my identity, then you will definitely tremble in fear and worship me. Even those gods didn't dare to lift up their heads without having my permission first." Gilgamesh said all of this with domineering confidence and a carefree tone as if he was just telling a simple fact. It sounded so true just like when someone told you that sugar tastes sweet or fire feels hot.

"But I can't have you doing that as I want you to be my successor. And you will eventually surpass me and achieve what I failed to achieve before."

"There's not a single catch for you, Calle. But I do have a favor that I wish you could do later on for me. You don't have to do it if you don't want to. But I sincerely hope that you will do it."

"What is it? What do you need me to do with the powers that you'll give me?"

"I will tell them later when you have enough strength to handle it. As with your current strength, there's nothing you could do with it even if you spend several lifetimes doing it. For now, I just want you to just get stronger and stronger and just do whatever you like with that power." Gilgamesh said once again.

"Whatever?" Calle asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Whatever."

"What if I use it to rule the country or something?" Calle asked a question, jokingly.

"Only the country? Why don't you aim a little higher and try to rule this world as your first small goal?" Gilgamesh replied, completely catching Calle off-guard with the answer.

"Can I use it to steal or plunder?"

"Yup, it will give you enough strength that people can only smile and bow their heads toward you as you grab their stuff right in front of their eyes."

"... Then can I use it to kill anyone just because I dislike them?"

"If there's even anyone stupid and braindead enough to annoy you with the power you will have, yes. You can kill them just by waving your hands and you can even sit on a comfortable sofa while watching them die."

"Then…then… can I use it for-"

"Don't say it, Calle. Yes, you can also do it. But are you really going to lower yourself as a scum? You might be able to do anything, but remember that there will always be consequences for anything that you've decided to do."

"You're okay with stealing and forcefully taking other people's stuff, and you also have no problem with killing anyone on a whim, but you're not okay with doing that?"

"Everyone has their own standards and that act is under my bottom line. And I don't believe you were that kind of person."

"No! Of course not! I'm just wondering whether-"

"Calle."

"Yes, yes, you're right. I will never do that even if I am able to do it."

"So, what is your decision Calle?" Gilgamesh asked once again.

Other than the fact that he trusted Gilgamesh's words even though he didn't know who he really was, Calle knew that he had nothing to lose either when accepting the offer. He still remembered that a few moments ago a truck had run straight toward his body, and he didn't know what would happen to him after this.

However, from listening to Gilgamesh's words, he knew that he would be given a second chance at life. And that reason alone was enough for him to do any favor that Gilgamesh might've asked him. But the fact that Gilgamesh also told him about the change that was about to occur and that he would be giving him a power that could change his life and made him able to fight directly against the change, Calle was even more than willing to accept Gilgamesh's offer and become his successor.

He also promised himself that he would be doing his best to do the favor that Gilgamesh had asked him since it was only the right thing to do for someone who had done so much for him. He wouldn't forget others' acts of kindness to him and he will definitely return them using the best of his ability.

"There's nothing left to consider. Yes, I will do it. I accept your offer and I will become your successor." Calle replied instantly.
