Melodie is away for almost a week; only when she turns up dirty, bedraggled, and hungry at Gorsky Manor do you get the full story: she went back to Ashfield, cleared out some of the remaining pumpkin cultists in a way that did not permit them to fight back fairly, and then drove the Harvest King deep into the woods, where—hopefully—he won't try a repeat performance for at least a few decades.

For her hard work, the philodox demands soup, so after you finish your rounds, you pour her some bad coffee and let her finish off a huge aluminum basin full of chicken corn chowder. Melodie is going to keep monitoring the Ashfield situation, but she's pretty sure the spirit won't cause more trouble.

I buy a laptop.

I pay some money to keep the cops off my trail.

I need to buy more clothes. I go shopping.

I ask Melodie how we can repair those brick prisons we saw in Hadley.

I head back to the cabin and see how Podge is settling in.

I see if I can track down Nin.

I text Nomi about that date.

I find Roscoe's van.

I visit Hobland at his compound.

I visit Lucinda at her studio.

I head into the deep woods.

I return to the barrows.

I head to the urban blight.

I check my phone.
