Feng Jiu Ge Intervention and Repercussions

Giant Sun looked at Feng Jiu Ge quizzically while wondering how this man suddenly became a venerable. He used his luck inspection methods on Feng Jiu Ge, and what he saw baffled him. It was an ethereal, shapeless blob.

"It's ethereal, isn't it," Fang Yuan said to Giant Sun.

"Yes."

"Well it makes sense. Take a closer look at his aura. Although you can feel it, it does not feel solid. It doesn't have the rigidity of the present, but the malleability of the unfixed future, the malleability of destiny…"

"That's correct," Feng Jiu Ge said," this is a new application of Destiny Song. I call it Destiny Self."

"Due to its malleability there must be some limitations. For example, it can't exist like Future Self. Future Self was a killer move governed by fate. It was fixed and could last a very long time. This move, however, is governed by destiny. It is like a mist: it can exist for a bit, but because it is not solid it will eventually dissipate. This malleability has its benefits though. Future self was governed by fate thus it was limited to rank 8. This move, however, seems to be able to reach rank 9 for a time by utilizing the flexibility of destiny."

At one point Fang Yuan began targeting the Central Continent Immortals again.

"Fang Yuan, you should be more careful. My daughter and wife are somewhere in that crowd. What would happen if your killer move hit them? There are also some people who previously helped me there. It would be in our best interest if we focused on Star Constellation rather than bystanders."

Fang Yuan was unhappy with this development, but it was not unexpected. Feng Jiu Ge was a man who repaid his debts. Actually, this is one of the reasons Feng Jiu Ge acted. Although he wasn't certain if Fang Yuan caused Primordial Origin to explode, he was at least suspicious. He knew if Fang Yuan caused this he would have more countermeasures since Fang Yuan wasn't a reckless gambler. Although he wanted to prevent Primordial Origin from reviving, he also wanted to stay on the sidelines and see what else Fang Yuan had up his sleeve. However, Fang Yuan began attacking the Central Continent Gu Immortals. Feng Jiu Ge allowed this to go on for a while, but his conscience was nagging him.

"If they were just at risk of dying, that is no big deal. They could be revived. But they are not just at risk of dying, but dying permanently. Look, there is We De Nei. Feng Jiu Ge sighed. This was the burden of those with a conscience. They can't be as unscrupulous as Fang Yuan, and that limits how efficient they can be. So he used Destiny Self and came out of hiding not only to prevent Primordial Origin's revival but also to prevent Fang Yuan from causing any more trouble.

While the venerables were duking it out, Central Continent's Gu Immortals watched from the side. Feng Jin Huang had a complicated expression on her face. She hated her father. If it weren't for him Heavenly Court would have won and her master would still be alive. But here he is protecting her and the rest of Heavenly Court from Fang Yuan.

"If you were really good though, you would help Lady Star Constellation rather than trying to stop her." With that her hatred solidified again, although it was a bit less than before.

Feng Jiu Ge's wife, Fairy Bai Qing, looked at her husband from the sidelines with a relieved expression. Although she wasn't full of hate for Feng Jiu Ge like her daughter, she had begun to start doubting him. Humans can only take so much mental pressure, and Fairy Bai Qing had been under a lot ever since her husband left. He was labeled a demonic traitor. Their previous prestige in the Spirit Affinity house was no more. They were isolated, insulted, etc. The only reason they weren't attacked was because of Feng Jiu Ge's future as Great Dream Immortal Venerable and Feng Jiu Ge still being alive. This caused a lot of mental strain on Fairy Bai Qing. There were many times where she wanted to leave it all behind, but she stayed because their daughter wanted to stay. Her life was getting darker and darker. She needed a light to remind her to not give up hope, and he arrived. Standing in the sky radiating rank 9 aura, he reminded her that he was still around. Furthermore, she noticed that he prevented Fang Yuan from attacking any more. It was as if this action was a message from him to her that he will always protect them no matter what. Her heart felt warm, something she rarely ever felt. Thus she looked on with a relieved expression.

"What, when did Feng Jiu Ge become a venerable?"

"It seems that demon Feng Jiu Ge has stopped Fang Yuan from attacking us."

"Are you certain you can still call Feng Jiu Ge a demon even though he is helping us?"

"But he isn't helping us. Look, he is fighting with Fang Yuan, Giant Sun, and Spectral Soul against Lady Star Constellation."

There were mixed feelings about Feng Jiu Ge in the crowd. The avid Gu Immortals were hellbent on calling Feng Jiu Ge a demon while some less radical Gu Immortals weren't. The majority of the crowd agreed that Feng Jiu Ge was a demon though, so the dissenters decided to shut their mouths.
