In a dark space with nothing more than the emptiness of the void. There were two shining shades. One of them made with blue light with the form of a woman, while the other was red with the shape of a man.
Both of them were different in so many aspects, but there was something that both of them shared with each other.
Both were broken. Their souls, their emotions, their own being. All of that were shattered inside of them, including their memories.
One of the few things that they remembered about their past, is that they were enemies.
It's not like they hated each other. They were simply in opposite sides in a war that no one wanted.
Then, one day, they finished it.
The red man pierced her with his black claws with red veins. Neither of them were humans. At least not anymore. They both made a choice, and there was no turning back to it.
When his claws pierced her, she felt how he was absorbing her existence. However, he didn't even know what was happening at that moment. His power suddenly acted as a greedy beast, consuming everything on its way.
At the same time, his own being was beginning to be consumed. No, it is better say that he was being combined with the being of that woman. He could see her memories, hear her thoughts, feel her emotions, and feel her... fear.
Both of them were afraid. They were stopping to be what they were. But along with that fear they both stated to feel, expectation. They were becoming something more, someone else. But just when their transformation was complete, a rift appeared from nowhere and absorbed them to the void, damaging their entities to their actual condition.
After that, both of them woke up in another world. How did they know it? Because there was no war in that world. All was peaceful.
However, they felt different. They felt in their own body but at the same time, no. It was like; they were feeling what the other was feeling. When one move the arm, the other did the same. When one of them got hurt, the other felt the same.
When they became aware of their surroundings, they knew. They were one. Not anymore separate individual, but one same individual.
Then they saw two humans. One was a middle age man and the other was a woman. Both of them seemed happy to see 'them', and they felt the same way.
Due to their broken memories and knowledge they could barely understand that they were saying or doing. It was like when a computer was recently programmed but it couldn't use all its functions due to corrupted data. In other words, even with all that knowledge, 'they' were still being, a baby.
They felt at peace. They didn't even remember when was the last time that they felt that way. It was simply too long since then.
Finally, they were going to start again as a new individual.
However. Call it fate or whatever you want, that happiness didn't last for long.
/Present day, Morning/
Zircon was already out from the hospital living with his parents.
Who is Zircon you may ask. Of course, he was 'them'. His new identity as a human in this new life.
They named him like this due to her red and blue eyes.
Even if his mother's eyes were black, while his father's eyes were black, they didn't mind it at all. In fact, they said that his unique eyes are perfect for a unique child.
In addition, the zircon symbolize 'loyalty', so he will always value his relationships, being friends or lovers.
He had little strands of black hair already growing from his head, just like his mother.
His mother was carrying him in her arm with a lovely smile on her face while breast-feeding him.
His father meanwhile was preparing the breakfast. He was the type of person who loves cooking.
It was Sunday, so they didn't need to go to work and they could spend the time with their beloved child.
After taking his meal, Zircon started to feel sleepy, so he slowly closed his eyes.
*Bang!*
Suddenly, the sound of the door being violently broken, making him to open his eyes. He could saw the terrified expression of his mother, and his father screaming something that he couldn't understand while a man with red eyes approached to him.
Zircon, or better say, 'them', started to feel an emotion that they had already forgotten. Fear.
The stranger took his father from the neck, while the latter was looking at Zircon's mother, only able to say one word.
"Run."
*Crack*
Hearing her husband last words, before the stranger broke his neck, she ran away as fast as she could.
She got out from the apartment and started to run outside the building with Zircon in her arms.
She managed to go outside, arriving at the alley behind the building.
Unfortunately, just when she thought that nothing else was going to happen. She felt something sharp piercing her chest, making her spout a great amount of blood from her mouth.
Then, in front of her, the figure of another man with black clothes and red eyes appeared, holding a sword in his right hand, directly stabbing her.
She then fell on her knees with the sword still piercing her. "Please.... At least... spare my child." She pleaded before taking her last breath.
Then the man pulled his sword out of her chest. Even then, her corpse was still holding her child firmly.
When Zircon noticed the dead gaze on his mother's eyes, started to feel like his heart was being emptied and crushed.
Sadness. Another bad feeling that 'they' also forgot. He couldn't even cry due to the mental shock.
"Tch, what a waste of food." Said the man.
"Stop complaining. Is he the child?"
"I guess so. But he is just a human." There was a contemptuous tone in his voice.
His partner looked to Zircon, like if he was checking something.
"You're right. Tch. We just lose our time."
"What are we going to do with him?"
"Just kill him. I don't care for the cattle's life."
After hearing his words, another emotion was surging inside him. It was consuming him at a great speed, like a fire in the middle of the forest. It was corrupting him, or better say, 'them'. They wanted revenge; they wanted to kill. They felt...
Anger.
And that feeling continued until the blade pierced Zircon's heart.
