Chapter 27: Training

In the past two days, Aaron has been teaching Lucas how to make his magic more destructive, despite only using simple magics.

Aside from that, Aaron also helped Lucas improved his physical body. Lucas had to run in this entire area five times and was also made to do 30 push-ups, 50 sit-ups, 50 planks, and more.

Lucas was catching his breath after finally completing his tasks. "Man, this is child abuse!" He said.

"I told you, I'm not a soft teacher," Aaron told Lucas.

Lucas laid down on the ground, trying to catch his breath. A thought suddenly came into mind—something he had been very confused about since he started learning magic. "By the way, sir Aaron, I was just wondering, when I started learning magic, it said that I must learn an incantation before I try to learn how to control my mana. I was just wondering, if I learned how to control my mana but I didn't learn any incantation, what would happen?" he asked.

"Well, it's obvious. You can control your mana, but you wouldn't be able to do anything other than that; it's just like controlling wind, but you can't hit anyone at all," Aaron answered.

"I see," Lucas said, looking up at the sky.

Aaron turned to look at him and said, "Well, get up; let's get back to training."

"I hate this," Lucas said as he got up.

Lucas and Aaron continued their training while the people in this land continued to create the traps, and Scarlett and Kai were also still training together.

So far, Kai has learned six moves. Which is pretty impressive for a child. The style he is learning has 10 moves, so he has 4 more moves to learn.

Kai was repeating the 7th move over and over again, trying to master it, while Scarlett was practicing her sword style.

Which is called The One Slash Sword Art. It is a type of sword art that focuses more on killing with only one slash. So it tends to hit the neck, heart, and more.

Scarlett was trying to master the last technique that her father had taught her. Her father was supposed to teach her more about it, but unfortunately, before he could, he passed away, trying to protect this land.

She took a stance, ready to move. Kai turned to look at her.

She then began to move as fast as she could. Trying to imagine an enemy in front of her, she tried to dodge all of the attack and then slashed its hand and went for its throat, and in the blink of an eye, the upper part of the stone she used to train exploded, leaving only the bottom part.

Kai was shocked as he watched the scene in front of him. Kai never expected her to be this strong.

However, she wasn't satisfied. That's because it wasn't destructive enough.

Her father had done a greater impact than she did. 

Scarlett only made enough impact to destroy its upper part; his father could destroy an entire building with that move. That was her goal—to be able to have as much impact as her father did.

Scarlett looked down as she was catching her breath, tired from all the training she had done. 

Kai looked at her, wondering why she seemed disappointed. "Wow, Scarlett, I never knew you were this strong," he said.

However, Scarlett never said anything back to him.

"Damn it, if I stay this weak until the battle begins, then I wouldn't be able to kill that damn Snarl," she mumbled.

Kai could barely hear what she was saying because of how low her voice was.

Kai thought that she must've been focusing really hard on her training, so he decided to let her be. "Sigh, whatever.

Kai continued his training.

"Father, how did you do it?" She said as she continued her training.

Lucas and Aaron were finally done with their training, so they went to the town to see how the traps were going.

As they walked there, people had their gazes on them. 

"Good after noon, sir Aaron! And also, sir Lucas!"

"Dig more!!!"

"Not enough water! We need Sir Lucas to give us more water!"

"Sure!" Lucas said.

The man was surprised, as he didn't know Lucas was just behind him. "Oh, uhm, good after noon, sir Lucas!" 

Lucas began putting water on the ground using his magic.

Aaron looked around. "Wow, everything seems to be going well," he said.

"Yeah, we have more people helping us as well," Lucas said.

As time went by, the people who were against helping started helping as well; they thought that doing something was better than doing nothing.

Lucas looked up at the sky. "Sigh, why does it feel like everything is going too well? I mean, I'm glad everything seems to be going well."

Lucas and Aaron started to help as well, and as time went by, the bamboo traps were finally done. But they weren't done with the underwater traps yet, and they also needed more bombs.

Kai and Scarlett also began helping the moment they were done with their training.
