3-Week Courses

After talking with the Patriarch, Sorath's lesson began immediately the next day.

Stamina, Agility, Tactical Combat, and Shooting. Those were the courses he took for the next 3 weeks.

The Patriarch suggested that for no reason.

Sorath was born weak and had difficulties in performing physical activities. But, it didn't mean it was a lethal disadvantage. With proper training and instruction from the best mentor, the Patriarch himself, he could increase his constitution and health bit by bit.

Without enough stamina, it would be hard to perform such feats. So, if Sorath wanted to do something, he should have the energy to do it first. That's why stamina training was essential for him.

Also, since his body would go into reconstruction or refining after awakening, his weak constitution would not become a problem anymore.

Next was agility. He didn't need a body with a high constitution to perform feats such as dodging or moving faster. As long as he had stamina, he could do some movements with ease.

Then Tactical Combat. It was not solely reliant on physical attributes, rather, it was more about quick-thinking and mental acuity. It should be an easy take for Sorath since he was intelligent and resourceful.

Lastly, Shooting. As the name suggests, shooting was… shooting. It could be a course about how to archery, or how to shoot a gun.

Yes, gun. But it was not your ordinary gun. Since standard guns wouldn't do anything to Awakeneds and the tower's creatures, the inventors developed specialized firearms that could harm both Awakeneds and the tower's creatures.

However, only a handful of people could get their hands on them.

For his 3-week courses, no eligible instructors wanted to take a training commission for Sorath. Apart from how little time they had to mentor him, the fact that they had to mentor an heir of the Shedever family made them think twice.

They were afraid that if they couldn't fulfill their task, the Shedever family would put a bounty on them. But, of course, that wouldn't happen. It was just that the Shedever family's image in public was not pleasant, so they thought of that.

In the end, the Patriarch took the role of Sorath's mentor himself.

In the first four days, the training progressed slowly because of Sorath's circumstances. Only a minute of stamina training and he already collapsed. The training proportion was leaning towards break time rather than actual training.

Fortunately, he was determined. He pushed himself to the limit and managed to collapse after 3 minutes on the first day!

Isn't that amazing?!

"Good job."

On the second day… 6 minutes!

Third day… 15 minutes!

Fourth… 30 minutes!

"Today, we'll add agility and tactical combat training to the schedule."

"What about shooting?"

"We can save that for the last week. As far as I know, there's no gun in the tutorial floors, and the new Awakened can't bring something from the real world."

Thus, the training continued!

With the addition of new courses, Sorath's training schedule had become even more packed.

He did stamina training from morning until noon. Then proceeded with agility training until the afternoon. And closed by tactical combat at night. After all that, Sorath fell into a deep sleep and felt pain all over his body when he woke up.

Thanks to the expensive cleansing potion the Patriarch provided, washing away the pain was not a big deal. With the potion, Sorath basically had a perfect training system without any side effects burdening his body.

So, remember! Money will always have its use!

In a span of two weeks, Sorath had completely changed. In terms of physical prowess, he was still a weakling. But, his vigorous stamina, agility, and brain working were top-notch.

He would lose if he were to fight a head-on battle against his enemy. But, if he utilized his advantages in speed and quick thinking, he could overwhelm them easily.

Then came the third week. The shooting training he awaited was finally here.

"We will keep the schedule as usual. Stamina training in the morning, and Agility training in the noon. Then in the evening, we will have a mixed training of Tactical Combat and Shooting."

The first day of the third week began with stamina. When it was time for the last training course of the day, the Patriarch asked Sorath:

"What long-range weapon do you wish to learn? Traditional or modern?"

Talking about traditional and modern weapons…

Traditional weapons refer to fantasy weapons like swords, bows, and so on. Meanwhile, modern weapons were guns and modified weapons.

"I want to learn both of them, is that possible?"

"It is possible. But, which one do you want to prioritize?"

"A modern weapon."

The Patriarch left stunned. As far as he remembered, he had already told his son that guns were not available on the training floors. So, why did his son insist on modern weapons?

"Do you have a reason why you choose long-range modern weapons over traditional ones? As I said before, there are no guns—"

"I'm completely aware of that, father."

The Patriarch frowned.

"Then why?"

"I just like it."

"... fine."

The training began immediately.

And, as the week passed like a second.

Sorath finished all of his courses. Even though he hadn't mastered all of them. For now, everything was sufficient for clearing and scoring a high score in his first awakening trial.

What important was he needed to stay vigilant at all times.

Especially during the next awakening phase. If he got killed there, then the only thing he could do was to say "see you soon" to his Awakened life and wait for the next phase to start. That was what happened in the novel.

He failed to pass his first trial during the solo test. In the next year's awakening phase, he finally succeeded by using his money and family's influence.

"Finally!"

Today was December 31st. 8 hours left until the eligible Awakeneds transported to the first floor. Before the mass transportation by the tower system happened, it had been a tradition for the candidates to gather in one place.

The usual place where they gathered was the facility built by one of the seven families, the Aquila Family.

The very family that had a strong bond with the Shedever.
