"Mom, what's wrong, why are you crying." Ian said as he approached Lacey who was sitting under a tree in a park that was just 20 minutes away from the mansion. He sat next to her. "Mom, say something, you are worrying me." Ian said as he hugged his mother. "Mom, please talk to me." Ian said. Lacey sat up straight and she wiped the hot tears that were all over her face, her eyes were red. "Your dad and I got into a fight... It's nothing much, it's normal for couples to have an argument." She said. "if you say it's not a big deal then why were you crying so much?" Ian asked. "I am just... Emotional that's all there is no need for you to worry about me okay?" Lacey asked. Looking everywhere but Ian. "Mom you are really bad at lying, I know that something is wrong, so just tell me please." Ian said. "Alright fine I Will tell you." She said taking a deep breath. "I have noticed that your father is hiding something from me but he won't tell me, and when I confronted him about it today he just told me that it doesn't concern me and I was really mad at him for saying that to me. He goes somewhere and when I ask him where he went to he would just tell me that he will tell me when the time is right. "She said sighing in frustration, your father has changed, he has become so protective of his things especially his phone he doesn't want me to touch it anymore." She said, sighing in frustration. "When did you start noticing his change in behavior?"Ian asked. "Two years ago, but my gut tells me that he has been keeping things from me for more that two years." Lacey said. "What if he is trying to protect you from something by not telling you the truth? Or what if the truth will make you leave him?" Ian asked. "If it is about him cheating then yes I would gladly pack my staff, file for a divorce and leave." She said. "I know him well enough to know that he wouldn't even dream of cheating on you. Sometimes the truth can only bring nothing but harm in our lives. Telling the truth isn't always the solution to our problems, what If the truth is what will cause you guys problems? "Ian asked. "But I want to know, I don't want to be kept in the dark like this Ian, I am just so sick and tired of the lies." She said. "Mom look I know you are upset and I know that what dad is doing is wrong. But what if telling you the secret would hurt you even more? Just think about all this okay mom." He said. Lacey looked up, thinking. She did not know what to think or say at this moment, but uan might have a point, what the truth was something hurtful, what if it was something that her little heart can't take, what if the truth is her worst nightmare? "I guess you are right, but I still want to know what and why he is hiding it from me." She said. And they both got up from where they were seated. "Thanks." Lacey said looking at Ian. "Anytime." He said and they both hugged. They let go of each other, and Lacey sighed. "You wanna get some ice-cream?" Ian asked Lacey after he noticed an ice cream truck that was park on the opposite side of the road. "Yeah."She said, and they both made their way to the ice cream truck.

It was 7pm and everybody(except for Charles and Ian who went out to have some drinks) was sitting in the dining hall, eating dinner. "Lacey, I heard you and charles arguing this morning, and I even heard you mentioning the word divorce. So are finally going to leave my cousin?"Emma asked."Divorce?" Valentina asked in shock. "Yes aunty, I heard it with my own two ears." Emma said and Lacey decided not to answer Emma because she was not in the mood to answer her at all. "Aunt Emma, it is normal for couples to get into an argument. Maybe their argument was big so you heard her mention the word divorce, but all I know is that she didn't mean it, she might have Saud it out of anger." Amara said and Lacey looked at her, this was the first time she had heard her answer back to someone especially Emma. "What do you know about those things huh? What? Are you trying to make me look bad." Emma asked. "Not at all aunt, but I am sure the reason you are being like this it is because you have been single since you were a foetus, so you don't understand couples at all, everytime a couple has an argument you always think that it is the end of their relationship, it's okay I am sure that mother in law understands. "Amara said, and her words only made Emma angry, her face was red from anger it looked like she was going to explode in anger, but Amara could not care less. "Look, miss just because, you are married to Ian doesn't give you the right to talk to me like that. Is that how your parents raised you, you gold diggers have no manners." She said, and that really made Amara angry. "Look, aunt I respect despite you being the same age as me, but if you ever involve my parents in our argument or question how the raised me, then I promise you, I will forget who you are and I won't mind putting you in your place." Amara said. "That's enough you two, can't we have some peace in this house, Emma stop meddling in other people's business and if a couple gets into an argument then it's their problem to solve." Valentina said, and Emma gave Amara a death glare. From the look in Emma's face Amara could tell that this was far from over.
