Celestia city

'The city that runs on magic'

Kian was still in awe at the sights of the city. Though he had expected something similar to this, the reality of it was still quite overwhelming.

"Hey, since it's you two's first time here, how about Landon shows you both some sights?"

"Don't you need help with the farm goods?"

Kian said; he didn't want to run off and leave all the work to Martin, that'd be shameful.

"Ah don't worry about it, you both wanted to see the big city so go enjoy it, trust me it's fine"

Landon looked at his father before nodding and hopping out of the open carriage.

He had a look of excitement on his face.

"Come on, I'll show you guys around"

He said, signaling us to follow.

Kian couldn't help but feel grateful to Martin and Landon.

They knew that he and Luna wanted to explore among other things so they allowed them to do so.

With that, Kian got out of the carriage.

And after doing so he turned around and held out his hand for Luna to grab.

The carriage wasn't a fancy one, it was mostly used for hauling equipment so it didn't need to be. It required you to hop over the ledge to exit.

And with Kian being the gentleman that he is he wasn't going to let Luna down without offering help.

It was the little things that matter in a relationship.

After feeling Luna's hand he helped her down.

While doing so Kian got to admire her beauty.

They had both gotten out of the clothes that they wore on earth, Luna was wearing some of Natalie's clothes, which had a similar build to hers while Kian borrowed some of Landon's.

That was partially one of the reasons that they came here; to shop for clothes.

Kian had seen Martin give Landon a few silver coins.

He didn't know how much value they had but since Landon's family had a good source of income he suspected it to be a decent amount.

"Thanks"

Luna said while she stepped down.

Kian smiled and nodded toward her before turning to face Landon

"So where are we off to first?"

Since Kian and Luna have never been to the city they had to rely on Landon for directions and such things.

The last thing Kian wanted was to get lost in a giant city part of a different world.

Well, he had another fear as well which involved Luna.

You see since they were in an unknown world which they were unfamiliar with, he didn't know their culture or customs.

Paired with his past world's history he couldn't help but feel uneasy.

While only here for two weeks with the only people to learn from being the Winslows Kian was still pretty much in the dark

He knew that there were probably some majestic-looking people in this world, in stories like this sometimes magic would improve how good one looks, Kian couldn't be too sure about this but it was just a thought to keep in mind.

And with that in mind he knew Luna was definitely at the top of the look charts.

She was sure to catch someone's eye, and since he didn't know what dangers lay ahead. It was better to just be more protective than usual.

"Well how about we just walk around and we can go to whatever catches our eyes?"

Landon said while walking down the road.

Luna and Kian both agreed and followed closely.

While walking down some of the roads it was pretty much a normal city to Kian so far.

Houses, a few stores, a good amount of people, nothing magical yet.

After walking for a few minutes Landon brought them to what looked like a clothing store.

It looked like a simple family-owned shop.

"This is where I buy my clothes, you guys need your stuff so let's get some. I have a few Silvermarks on me, so I would suggest quantity over quality"

As they walked in Kian spotted a few people in the shop along with a good amount of clothes in different styles and sizes.

Looking for more details Kian realized that most of the prices under the clothes were simply a single number followed by BP.

Some had SM and just a very few that looked prestigious had GP listed as their price.

He knew SM meant Silvermark while GP meant Goldpiece, and since BP seemed to be the dominant price it was likely a variation worth less that came before them.

The store had been decided into different areas based on what type of clothing it possessed, with labels telling you each one.

They just simply had the word "Shirts" or "Pants" on them, pretty straightforward but it brought up a huge question that Kian hadn't posed to himself before.

'Why can I understand their language and writing?… this doesn't make any sense…'

There were thousands of languages on earth, so why did this world use the one that he was accustomed to? It surely couldn't be a coincidence, that would be entirely impossible.

So it had to be an outside force. Whatever brought them here or was likely the reason.

The questions Kian had no answers to just kept piling up and up.

Well, hopefully, he would figure them out one day. Until then he was going to do some simple shopping.

***

After finishing their small shopping spree they walked around the city a little more.

They just bought basic clothes, they weren't too worried about fashion given the circumstances.

And on top of getting new attire Kian had finally learned something useful about this world.

Seeing the transaction happen he knew how money worked, well at the surface level.

Their total came up to around eighty BP; which Kian learned was an abbreviation for 'Bronzepiece'.

With the average item costing around three BP, they got a good amount of clothes.

He also got to see what the currency looked like.

The coins were the same size; the BP was a metallic brown color, living up to its name.

The SM was in a shiny silver color while he suspected the GP to be a gold shade.

The SM and BP both had the kingdom's logo etched into them, he hadn't seen a GP before but it was probably the same.

Since their total came to eighty BP Landon gave the worker one SM and got back twenty BP.

This meant that one hundred of one coin equals one of the next, pretty simple.

While walking they seemed to enter a small park area.

Slowing down slightly Landon tapped Kian on the shoulder before handing him the bag he was carrying.

"Hey, I gotta use the bathroom, you two can sit on the bench until I'm finished, I don't need to be running around the city trying to find you guys, even though it'd be kinda funny."

Landon said while pointing towards a distant bench.

"Oh and don't try to get robbed please"

Hearing this Kian twitched slightly.

"Robbed? Are you for real?"

They did have bags of clothes but he didn't want to have to fight a random mugger over them.

"Pfff I'm just kidding, as you can tell people here are all pretty nice, of course, there are some rotten apples in the bunch but you two should be fine, alright I'll be back"

Landon quickly walked off after that, chuckling while doing so.

"That guy sure has some weird humor, well we should go take a seat"

With Luna giving a nod they both headed over to the bench.

After sitting down Kian wanted to see if Luna understood what he did about the currency of this land.

"Did you figure out how money works here?"

Luna looked over at him before closing her eyes and answering.

"Of course I did, what do you take me for?"

She said jokingly while scooting closer to him.

This was a good moment for them to discuss some things they'd learned so Kian switched the topic to another question he had.

"I noticed that the language here is the same as we know from earth, you know that should be impossible right?"

Luna looked over at him, a sense of calmness and acceptance in her eyes.

"Yeah I noticed that too, but a lot of things that don't make sense or seem to be impossible tend to happen, we'll just have to be patient and wait for the answers to reveal themselves when the time comes."

She said while tilting her head and resting it on his shoulder.

After this, they didn't say anything.

In the spacious park, the gentle sound of the rustling leaves in the breeze was the only sound around them.

They took a moment to just be still and appreciate each other's presence, feeling their body heat and hearing each other's breaths.

It was a peaceful moment, and one that they both cherished.

In this new world, they didn't get many opportunities to be alone together, so they made the most of it when they could.

Because who knew when the next one would come, or if it would at all.
