Chapter 8: Spear of Destruction

"President! President!" A voice shouted in the darkness.

I wake up with Kate on top of me shoving my shoulders. I see the faint image of Natalia behind her, slowly fading into nothingness.

"You two, let's go."

We rushed outside to the great hall meeting a mortifying sight. The king lay unconscious on the throne with a Gigantic black spear Jabbed onto his chest. The guards are on a battle stance surrounding the king with Miya tending to the King's wound.

"I'll go check on the goddess. Go help the King," I can hear Natalia opening the door to the Goddess' Chamber.

In an instant, Kate rushes to the king. "We need to pull it out", she ordered the guards.

The king let's out an excruciating scream as Kate and the guards tried to force the spear out of the king's body.

"You're hurting him!" cries Miya as he pushed away Kate. The force helped pull away the spear and it drops to the ground, with a deafening clang.

Estes mumbles, pulling Miya by the hand closer to him.

"Blessing of the Moon Goddess," Estes stutters on his dying breath. The chandelier suspended on the ceiling of the great hall started to glow like a miniature moon.

"Moo... Moonlight I... Immersion," chants Estes and loses consciousness. His hand lets go of Miya's.

"Bring him to the Moon well!" Miya panicked. The guards helped her carry King Estes to one of the doors of the Great hall.

The greathall was filled with silence. The spear slowly Vanishes.

On her visible state, Natalia comes rushing from the chamber of the goddess.

"We need to leave, now! A battle here will only endanger the goddess." Natalia grabs Kate by the hand and they started running out of the great hall. I followed them to the Courtyard and we stopped when two figures blocked our way.

"My, my that was a nice throw Moskov," the cloaked woman softly laughs.

*Ara ara*

A purple skinned Man with a long Laceration on his chest aimed a spear similar to what impaled king Estes, at us.

"Down!" shouts Natalia as she turns invisible. We ducked just in time to avoid the spear.

"A troublesome little girl.," says the cloaked woman as she blinks away for safety.

Natalia reappears behind the man. Her claw pierced through his body. The man falls to his knees but his spear moved on its own and pushed Natalia away. The injured man teleports to some distance away from Natalia.

"So you have some resistance to silencing. Good, this might have been boring if it ended with one strike," says Natalia with a sadistic smile on her face, as she vanishes again.

"Bingo!" yells the mysterious cloaked woman moments after.

Natalia reappears parrying an attack from a monstrous creature that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

"How do you like my little pet?" chuckles the woman as she helps her injured comrade Up.

Miya comes rushing from the Temple and shoots a barrage of arrows, Which the Woman easily deflects.

"Our job here is done but I'm sure destiny will find us again in the future,"The monster that attacked Natalia retreated to its master."We'll be watching you," she bids as her monster swallows them both and disappears.

"Awww,too soon?" complains Natalia as she puts down her weapon. "It's not everyday I get to fight the rumored Spear of Quiesence."

"That girl, she... She looked like Karina," Miya's voice indicated the terror in her thoughts.

"She was level 12!" yells Kate. "I was watching them both. The spear guy was level 8."

I was surprised how Kate managed to gain information during the battle. I was too astounded by how fast the fight went.

Miya ignored what Kate was saying and rushes back into the great hall. "How is the King!?"

The rest of us followed her into one of the doors of the Great hall.
