Chapter 5: Stats

The laugh shattered Miya's composure. She draws her bow and her arrows began to glow.

"Ahahaha, Miya *continues laughing* so you.... you're quoting Fanny now?" The feminine voice stuttered with every syllable with uncontrollable laughter.

"What happened to silently observing from the shadows, Natalia?" asked the goddess while staring at the corner of the room.

Suddenly, a woman clothed in white silk cloak slowly fades into view. She stops laughing and licks a claw-like weapon attached to her right knuckle as she moved towards the goddess.

"No worries, both of them already noticed my presence so what's the point of hiding?", says the mysterious woman.

Miya's arrow pierces through the air, she immediately draws another and aims at Natalia.

Natalia easily evades the first arrow. In the blink of an eye, she vanishes and reappears behind Miya with her blades pressed against Miya's neck.She grabs Miya by the chin and pulls her closer.

"Slow!" Natalia chuckled.

"Yuri!! 😍😍😍," whispered Kate under her breath.

"Stop it already!" King Estes demanded. "You are in the presence of the Moon Goddess! "

The goddess just laughs and opens her arms signaling Natalia to get close for a hug. Natalia lets go of Miya and runs towards the goddess' arms.

"Stand down Estes. How many times do i have to tell you, she's not your enemy. She's the champion of the King of Light." says the goddess as she caresses Natalia's hair.

"Anyway, Cl and Kate, this is Natalia, she'll be one of your party members on your quest to defeat the demon lord."

"Natalia at your service," her short introduction was enough for us to realize she's crazy strong. Her overwhelming aura screams for me to run, but the moon goddess assures us, she isn't our enemy.

Miya still hasn't recovered from the shock of Natalia's surprise attack and hasn't moved since then.

"She's silenced," Natalia explained. "One of my unique skills. It's especially potent against spell casters like King Estes here."

King Estes was offended as he raised an eyebrow. He decided to ignore her insults in the presence of the goddess.

"Anyway, Cl and Kate, let me explain to you how your powers work," says the goddess. "Other worldly beings are given abilities to evolve. Thus, weak as you are now, you can be stronger than even Natalia here."

Natalia lets out a "hmmpft" sound and burries her head on the goddess' hug.

"First, let's talk about levels. You are currently level one. As you fight your way to the demon lord, you'll gain xP. Every level increase allows you to learn a new skill or improve an existing one."

Kate isn't listening to the goddess. She's more interested in messing with the currently frozen Miya.

"Second, about the class system. There are 6 classes available to your choosing namely: Tank, Fighter, Assassin, Marksman, Mage, and Support. Your class will change according to the skills you gain. For example, Natalia here, due to her acrobatic capabilities and stealth, she is in the assassin class. Miya is a Marksman, and King Estes is a Support. Some individuals gained the right to have multiple classes due to learning a variety of skills."

"Gusion!!," Natalia's muffled voice sounded like that of a child.

I noticed a holographic button when I looked at Natalia. I pressed the button.

Hero Title: Midnight Raven

I was demoralized by how much stronger she is. No wonder my instincts scream i should run.

"Lastly about power classifications, there are only 3 known classification so far: Minion, Hero, and God. Normal people are classified as minions, people who are born with unique skills are heroes, and Gods are naturally given to beings that have the power to create. Only gods and otherworlders, no matter the class, have the ability to check these stats. Natalia didn't know she had affiliation to the assassin class until she's found by the king of Light. "

I hate to admit it but I don't understand the explanation of Elune.

Kate suddenly shrieked as Miya started to move.

Natalia suddenly vanished from Elune's embrace. Moments after, loud footsteps come from the staircase.

"It seems we have to postpone the explanation," says the goddess and vanishes herself. "You can come to me anytime you want if you have questions,"her voice fades away as well.

"King Estes, preparations are ready. Please head down to the great hall. Everyone is waiting," The guard from before appeared from the staircase.

"Leveling huh?" Kate whispered with a scary smile on her face.
