Trading, selling and buying

According to what had been released to the public and what Kimi's own theories based on how Pokémon work when it comes to levelling up and evolution, it is related to their latent potential and genes.

While Legendary Pokémon usually appear Legendary level or Pseudo Legendary level from their birth due to their rarity and their unique genetics, other Pokémon start out from an egg in their original first evolution stage or baby stage like Pichu and many others at what is described as level one or their immature stage.

Through different experiences from battles, mastering their known abilities, controlling their bodies, through physical training or unique experiences that are required to help them grow, they are able to adjust to their genetic potential and bring out that potential which makes them grow stronger in terms of body stats and gaining access to their genetic information or knowledge within their own race to learn the various moves.

While it is best to allow the Pokémon to gain that experience on its own to tap into its potential more, it is also helpful to work as a team and split that shared experience even if the experience is shared between the two and is slightly reduced compared to what would be achieved on their own.

An example of that tactic would be when boosting low level Pokémon with high level ones which could be considered as boosting the low levels or allowing types with poor move sets to be able to gain experience without suffering many defeats and injuries like Magikarp so that it can be allowed to level up to gain attack moves and evolve.

Another example would be some bug type Pokémon that would just have to spend some time in their metamorphosis stage or their second evolution form before they emerge from their cocoon form into their final or third form so they would just accumulate their experience and genetics by simply remaining in a state of rest until they could evolve again so not every Pokémon had the same way of levelling or evolving, there were some that defied the already recorded information that helps to identify talent and levels.

Similar effects are shown on some other Pokémon that allow them to store up power within their bodies or they have to consume certain things like tough metals to help them further bring out their potential.

The best way to evolve would be to continue to let the Pokémon experience that growth until it reaches the level where their genetics will reach a state of evolution but there are other ways that the evolution can be influenced like using an item or evolutionary stone.

Another method to help them learn new moves outside their genetics preset learning ability when they level up is to purchase TMs or otherwise known as Technical Machines which can be used to teach moves that are compatible with a Pokémon while they are within their Pokéball while it is connected to a computer or other device.

The main issue with TMs is that they are costly and can only be used once, once it has been uploaded and used to the Pokéball of the trainers choosing, the card or disk that holds it becomes blank.

It is an ingenious method from the original that stops the information from being copied or stolen as it only works to teach a single Pokémon and it will self remove any information if it is tampered with or someone wishes to try to copy it, that way they can continue to sell the TM for a high purchase price without being worried about competition in the same business for a long time until someone eventually figures out the technology involved themselves.

Even then they would still have to understand how to accurately put the moves into that form for them to be learned so they would still be far behind the original which has a wider collection of moves available which meant the original would always dominate the market for a very long time.

It was the same for other families or companies that had rights over certain types of Pokémon, professions or technology like the Jenny family who have access to Growlithe, breeder families having access to Miltank and others while the Joy family would have access to Chansey and other healing types.

Although it was difficult to get ahold of those Pokémon without connections to such families, it was not impossible to encounter a wild one if someone knew their habitat or had other methods to acquire one.

On the forum on her laptop, Kimi browsed the world server, the region server and the city server to post her own information as a bounty hunter who is looking for tasks but also the requests for a trade or selling of her other Pokémon. "Other regions can be accessed through travelling there but there is also the internet and the trading posts which can be used for trading, purchasing or selling of items or Pokémon. With the use of the spacial technology.. everything is made much easier for the exchanges. What is lacking in this connection is the Alola region which has barely been explored and does not have a connection set up with the other regions."

Unova was the only one among the many regions that did not have deep ties to the Jenny and Joy families along with the leagues presence but it would later be discovered as they would start to extend their reach.

Certain families were able to gain Pokémon from all over Kanto, the Sevil Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, the Battle Zone, Unova and Kalos with their vast resources and connections but the internet and the forums on it was also a place that connected those regions.

There were many undiscovered islands that still existed but many were uninhabited by humans and held many strong and dangerous Pokémon within so they were considered as danger zones.

Kimi clicked on her own post for trading and selling of her water types and quickly found two buyers and a trade so she quickly accepted then sent the details of the exchange.

She headed to the Pokémon Centre and went upstairs with three Pokéballs and placed them into the machine while typing into the computer to set up the exchange details and then connected her card to the account.

After inputting the exact exchange conditions, she then clicked accept them the Pokéball was sucked up into a tube and disappeared then she continued with the other two while she paid the exchange fee that was required.

Using the spacial and delivery technology was not a free service so one person had to pay for the exchange if it was a one way exchange for cash while a trade would be split between the two people trading.

The main issue was that the trade had to go through for it to be successful, even if the time passed and there was no exchange then the initial payment would not be returned so it was best for a person to confirm the trade with the other party beforehand to make sure that it was sure to happen.

Even trading legitimately had its risks that were involved and the systems were not perfect but it was better than trading within the black market and other places as tricks could be pulled at anytime, there were bigger problems if the trading was done between a larger distance since the price of the exchange would be much more.

The amount of people that collect and trade Pokémon are far too many to count as they each have their own goals for collecting Pokémon and their own favourite types.

Among the ones that Kimi had targeted was the water type collectors, those from a water gym or ones that had a place for them to be put on show.

Water types were always very popular in any region as they could be used in beauty contests, out in the garden pond, firefighting, be shown in an aquarium or they made excellent mounts to travel on across the water if their size was suitable.

The Goldeen and Magikarp did not have any offers for trade but they had been purchased so she was able to collect the money once the trade was completed.

The Poliwag trade had been confirmed so she was expected to receive a Feebas in return after they had spent some time negotiating.

After returning home, she replied to her active conversations within the forums and let them know that the exchanges were ready so they only needed to visit a local Pokémon Centre and gain access to the trading room.

She saved one of the accounts and continued talking with them since the other party was a fishing enthusiast and loved collecting water Pokémon for their public aquarium. "If they have more Feebas… then I can take advantage of them since the evolutionary route is not yet discovered for a couple more years. It does not hurt to keep some contacts with some others that collect other types and try to trade for others that can be useful for myself or reselling at a higher price. Mwahaha!"

In her previous life, she did not have the right knowledge and conditions to be able to exploit her knowledge over unique evolution paths that were more unique and not yet discovered.

Feebas was considered as the easiest to raise and evolve into Milotic because either their beauty needed to be enhanced or they needed a Prism Scale for them to evolve.

For their beauty to be enhanced, it required a lot of time to raise the Feebas confidence and make it undergo many beauty treatments so while it did not have a huge cost to achieve, it took a lot of effort and time which Kimi did not have in her previous life.

The method for using a Prism Scale was very costly and they were hard to find or were in the possession of collectors or the rich that did not wish to sell them so even if she wished to gain a benefit from the evolution, her losses would be greater after considering the cost and hardships taken to acquire one or more. "While I cannot give my full focus to raising a Milotic or many of them.. there is the option for dad to get involved so I need to talk to him."

Her police work was much too busy and she rarely had time for herself so she could not use her knowledge or accomplish much, her own thoughts of not exploiting certain things that she had known for her own benefit had also prevented her from growing further but she was no longer restrained by her ideals or her profession anymore.

She then thought to herself. "Hmm.. while I know of some others.. they will require special items to allow for them to evolve. High friendship and conditions are needed for some, some need a certain evolution stone or environment to evolve but… there are items that can be bought now and kept until their price shoots up in the future. Some TMs may be needed for certain Pokémon to meet the conditions for evolution too like a Piloswine knowing ancient power. Sylveon must know a fairy type move to be possible to be achieved. Hmm.."

She then smiled as she looked online at the prices of several items and marked them on her future wish list. "Razor Claw, Metal Coat, Sun Stone, Dragon Scale and King's Rock should be the priority. Razor Claw for Weavile, Metal Coat for Steelix and Scizor, King's Rock for Politoad and Slowking, Sun Stone for Bellossom and Sunflora then finally a Dragon Scale for Seadra."

Among the ones that had not become public knowledge yet or had yet to be discovered, she could make use of her knowledge to stock up on the items that would be highly sought after once the discoveries had been made.

She went deep into thought again. "Now I just need to figure out how I can convince dad to leave this city and set up a new venture for himself which can also benefit me in the long run. While he does have some knowledge on Pokémon, he does not qualify to be a breeder or a qualified trainer so I must try to pass on some things."

The city that they were living in was like a central area for crime and underground operations since the head of Team Rocket had control over it so it was not the right place to set up any kind of money making operation that would reveal rare types of Pokémon or methods of evolution.

Kimi continued to check the local tasks and found one that could be completed anytime soon. "Clearance or capture tasks on Route one and Viridian Forest. These are the most common requests and I did these too often as part of my duties as an officer."
