"You came earlier than I thought?" Sasha closed the door behind Killian and stared at him in confusion. "Did the girl not warm up?"
Killian ran a hand in his hair. He wanted to pull them out of his scalp at this moment. A frustrated sigh was not enough to show his rage.
"She has it! She is next." Sasha paused. So long they have waited for Killian to get powers after the death of his aunt.
It was not only the loss of family that had kept Cassian on his toes. But he had lost the blessing of the goddess with his sister too. But when she died, and they did not hear about her child, they believed the power would be transferred.
That was how blessings run in their family. It passes from one generation to another not at the time of birth but when the previous holder died. That was the secret of their family.
