Gloria looked at her and tried to speak but didn't know what to say.

She knew that Nydia said it because of her father.

Nydia's eyes suddenly lit up. Gloria looked at her, confused.

Nydia happily said, "Men are all the same. Gloria, why don't we give up getting married? We can adopt a child or two and watch them grow up. That way, I'll be happy too!"

"What? Isn't that nice? It will set us free, won't it? If I see a handsome guy later, I can even strike up a conversation with him. When I get home, I still have you, my best friend. Of course, if you meet a handsome guy, you can do as I say. What a happy life!"
