(24)The Chosen One

Sapphires POV:

It's been about a week since I've seen or heard from Skylar. Its also been a week since any of my other sides have talked to me.

We are all hurting, and are mentally debating rather go after him or not. Adaline says he hasn't gone outside of pack borders, so ill have to infer that he's still alright.

I get up off the bed and decide to head downstairs to eat. "Sapphire what are you doing! I told you to ring the bell if you needed anything!!" Adaline yelled as soon as she saw me come down the stairs.

Have I mentioned that ever since I found out I was pregnant, Adaline won't let me up out of the freaking bed! Ugh, she's so frustrating!

"Oh, my geez, I'm a week and a half pregnant not about to pop!" I whined. "Do you not remember that shifters are only pregnant for a month and a half!?"

I look down at my stomach and sighed. She was right, I already have a small baby bump. I start to sniffle when I remembered Skylar. "What if he doesn't come back?"

Adaline turns around and sighs. "Honey, if he doesn't come back he's stu-" she doesn't finish her sentence, because right at that moment, Skylar walked through the back door.

I fought with all my might to stay where I was, and not to jump into his arms. "We need to talk" were the first words to come out of his mouth.

Adaline's eyes go wide, we all know what this will lead to. And I don't think it's good. "O-ok, uh um just f-follow me" I stutter.

I lead him outside and to the edge of the woods so no one could hear us. I sat down because I was already exhausted. Geez, am I going to be this way the whole time!?

"You...can speak...now," I say in between deep breaths. He looks down at me concerned before his face turns emotionless. I cringe knowing what was coming next.

"Look Sapphire, I love you but I don't think this will work out..." I begin to feel tears rolling down my face so I look away, so he cants see.

"And why is that?" I ask. He's quiet so I took this time to read his emotions. He's feeling regret and pain (emotional pain). I'm confused so I read his mind.

"How could I be a father!? I'm not cut out for that. It's better to break it off now, and not disappoint her in the future. I won't make a good dad..... I'll just ruin it like I ruin everything else."

I look up at Skylar surprised. "You would make a great father! How could you think those things about yourself!" I whispered. He just looks away.

I sigh and stand up. "Come to me when you find some confidence in yourself" and with that, I walk away.

Suddenly I have swung around and felt lips on mine. I giggled and sighed, I missed this. "I'm sorry" he whispered into the kiss. I just nod in response.

"You have a lot of making up to do," I say as I smirk up at him. He just groaned in response.

"Get a room!!" What sounded like Adaline, yelled. I laugh, and Skylar joins me. We walk inside with our hands tangled together, and a smile on our faces.

~~One Month Later~~

"Come on! Get out already" I groan looking at my very large, very round belly. I'm soo ready for this thing to be out!

"Sweetheart you shouldn't yell at the baby like that!" Skylar scolded. I just pouted and crossed my arms, he just laughed. Can you believe he LAUGHED at me! Ugh, guys are horrible!

Soo my hormones may be out of wack..... Ok, they definitely are. I snapped at Adaline the other day because she took one glance at my stomach. I cringed thinking back on that.

Suddenly I hear a small, barely noticeable, pop and feel liquid rolling down my thighs. Oh god...we haven't even picked out a name!

I look up at Skylar from my spot on the couch, with wide eyes. He dropped the plate in his hands and rushed over. "What's wrong? Are you hurt? Is the baby hurt?" He asks the last question while placing a gentle hand on my tummy.

"Hun calm down. Nothing wrong, but I think my water just broke" he suddenly gets a panicked look on his face. Oh no...here he goes.

He grabs the already packed baby bag and then rushes around the house grabbing clothes and things. He also surprisingly got Adaline out of bed without getting punched in the face.

Now both of them were rushing around. Jonathan, a pack member, walked down the stairs and Adaline threw a bottle at him. He just stared and then walked back up the stairs. I guess she didn't want to be disturbed...

Suddenly I'm off the couch and in Skylar's arms. Hmm, I could stay here forever. "Adaline let's go!" Welp, he ruined my relaxed mood.

"What's with all the yelling!? You're giving me a headache!" I whined. He just smiles down at me "Sorry sweetheart, but I'm kinda not used to this sort of thing" I just giggled at him.

But our moment was ruined when I groaned from the pain in my lower stomach. He looked panicked again and sat me down in the backseat.

Adaline jumped in the driver's seat, and Skylar jumped in the back with me. Soon we were speeding towards the pack doctor.

When we arrived Dr. Zade was outside of the pack hospital, waiting for our arrival. As soon as I was out of the car, I was in a wheelchair and heading towards a delivery room.

~12 hours later~

I was exhausted but still pushing. All of a sudden I hear a baby's cry. "Congrats! It's a baby girl!" Dr. Zade announced as my little girl was sat on my chest.

"Blaze" was the first word out of my mouth since before the car ride here.

"What?" Skylar questioned. "I want here to be named Blaze" I started looking in her beautiful, sparkling gold/orange-colored eyes. She's definitely going to be something special.

"So, Blaze Moonstone" I smile when he put his last name, as hers. "If that is alright with you, I personally think she should have my last name but I don't know what you think"

I giggle as he keeps blabbering. "Hon it's fine! Calm down" I manage to say through my giggling.

He just looks at me and smiles sheepishly. All of a sudden we are almost blinded by blue light in front of us. Uh oh, I forgot to tell mom.

"When were you going to tell me you were having a baby today!" She half yelled with her hands on her hips. I shrugged.

She just sighs and looks down at Blaze. "Congrats, she's beautiful" my mother complemented in a softer voice. As soon as my mother's eyes met Blaze's a shining neon blue leopard-shaped figure began to dance around Blaze's head.

I stared in awe and then looked to my mother who looked concerned. "What does this mean?" I questioned.

"She's the last Amur Leopard shifter in the world. I thought they were extinct! She's going to be powerful, with her mother being the next inline moon goddess and her father being a mix of 3 different creatures. She will probably be an elemental and have control over the blue mist. The blue mist is so powerful that even I don't know what all it can do. She is truly unique!" My mother ranted/blabbered.

I stared at Blaze in awe when, again, we are blinded by a light. This one was a softer, white light. Soon a white wolf pup with blue eyes was laying beside my Blaze.

I look at my mother shocked and worried. She just smiled and shook her head. "No need to be worried, that is her guardian. It's a perk of being a controller of the blue mist. He will stay by her side till she dies. Luckily he is immortal and can't be killed. And he will only die when she does. She will be thankful one day." My mother smirked and flashed away before I could question her.

Hmm, guess ill just have to wait and find out what she meant by that.
