Chapter 48

Davida woke up, finding herself lying on the floor. She hurriedly stood up, then walking towards Diane in a hurry before opening a bottle filled with red liquid. After Davida fed Diane the health potion, Davida looked behind her, and her face turned pale. She saw Duncan getting flung around by the giant stone golem. "No way…." Davida couldn't believe what she saw.

Duncan, in his full power, a 5th Grade Aura Master, was being toyed around by the giant stone golem. Duncan that in his full power, managed to stand as one of the powerhouses in the world, cannot do anything to the giant stone golem. Diane woke up slowly, wiping her eyes; she saw her young miss was sitting next to her. "Good morning, young miss", Diane yawned before noticing her young miss expression. "What's wrong…." She did not manage to finish her sentence as she watched the same thing Davida saw.

"Dun!" Diane shouted. She quickly stood to her feet, then holding her staff, she began chanting. When Davida saw what Diane was trying to do, she woke up from her stupor and tried doing what Diane did. Vines began to creep up from the ground, holding the stone golem's limb, preventing it from moving. Watching Diane used her vines, Davida chanted different magic than what she used to do. A yellow magic circle appears below Davida's feet, "Stalagmite!" she shouted. An earth spike emerged from the ground, hitting the stone golem right on its chest.

The stone golem stumbled backwards, but it did not go down. When the giant stone golem tried to move, however, Diane's vines prevented the stone golem from moving every single of its limb. The golem tried breaking the vines again, but this time, Diane immediately erase her vines. With the vines gone, the stone golem's energy caused it to plummeted down to the ground. After the stone golem fell through the ground, Davida quickly ran towards where Duncan was. When Davida arrived, she saw Duncan has blood all over him. "Thankfully, his hair hasn't turned grey yet", Davida breathe a sigh of relief.

Davida took out a bottle of health potion before chugging it down Duncan's mouth. With a gulp, the potion thankfully entered Duncan's stomach safely. After a while, thanks to the faster recovery from the trials ground coupled with Duncan's prowess as a 5th Grade Aura Master, the wounds on his body begin to heal immediately. "Young miss, how is he?" Diane said while keeping her guard against the giant stone golem. "He'll recover", Davida said happily. Diane's face was beaming with a smile after hearing Davida's word. Their happiness did not last long as the giant stone golem begins to stand up. The stone golem's eyes flashed red, glaring at the duo menacingly. Diane glanced at Davida, "Are you up to it, young miss?" Davida said with sweat dripping from her back. Davida nodded with unwavering eyes, "If we die, we die together!"

The Demon King watched Davida, Diane and Duncan struggle with a smile. He leaned back on his throne, with his left hand resting on the arm of the throne and his legs crossed. I watched as the Demon King used his mysterious power to conjure up a glass of wine before drinking it slowly. Seeing my friends fighting for my sake down below, I felt touched and frustrated at the same time.

Back in my previous life, I only had a few friends upon my name. They were much so precious for me as I would do anything for them. Unfortunately, I couldn't do so as I died much earlier than them. Now, I vow to have enough strength so that I don't experience losing anything ever again in this life. So, seeing my friends knocked around by the giant stone golem, especially Duncan, breaks my heart. Even though I knew all of this was just a trial, it didn't lessen the feeling that I felt.

Tears streaming from my eyes as I tried to struggles free from the chain. Unfortunately, everything that I do was pointless, as the chain that binds me was strong. Right now, I really regret agreeing to the deal that the Demon King offered me. There was only one thing that I can do now, that is, to glared at the Demon King hatefully and cursed him with my heart as my mouth was bound too with the chain.

The Demon King hear the sounds of a chain flinging around above him, "Stay still, will you", he pointed his finger and the chain binding me felt even stiffer. 'That shady old man! I'll beat you up one day!' I swore inside my heart. But, for now, I can only watch the show.

The stone golem punched, breaking Diane's barrier, sending her flying backwards. "Di!" Davida shouted, releasing her spell towards the giant stone golem. A barrage of fireballs hit the stone golem one by one, halting its advancement towards Diane. Davida prepared another spell while Diane tried her best to stand up. Diane stumbles a few times before finally managing to get up.

However, when Diane did stand up, her legs cannot hold on as she's about to stumble back down. Suddenly, a firm and strong hand held Diane's arm up, preventing her from falling down. Diane look behind her, and her face was full of happiness, "Dun!" she called. Duncan smiled, "I'm awake," he said. Duncan picked up his greatsword from the ground, his feet planted on the ground, "Step aside, young miss!" Duncan barked.

By instinct, Davida immediately steps aside as Duncan launched himself towards the stone golem, knocking it backwards. "Now, it's round two bitch!" Duncan brandished his greatsword at the stone golem, not giving it a chance to attack. "Diane, young miss, please support me!" Duncan shouted as he was continuing his attack at the stone golem. Duncan's attack was so overbearing that the giant stone golem can only block his strike. Duncan's barrage of attacks, coupled with the support from Davida and Diane, frozen up the giant stone golem's movement.

"We can do this!" Diane shouted. The giant stone golem was overwhelmed by the attacks from Davida and the others as it struggled to stand up. The Demon King sat on his throne just smirked at the trio's optimism; he relaxed his body by leaning back and resting his arm on his chest. "You underestimate it if you think that's what the stone golem's got", he murmured. "My creation, show them your true power!" The Demon King points his finger at the giant stone golem, and a black aura shot up from his finger into the stone golem's body.

"Affirmative", the stone golem answered as its body expanded. Its shoulder became broader, the shoulder blade forming an armour while its legs widened, armour sprouted on its shin. The stone golem pressure rise, causing Davida, Diane and even the battle harden Duncan's knees to stumble. "Guh!" Duncan grunted, "What a monster…." He exclaimed. Davida and Diane couldn't handle the pressure as they faceplanted to the ground.

The stone golem finished transforming, breaking free from Diane's vines; it immediately sends a punch towards Duncan. Duncan utilized all of his Aura and managed to dodge out of the way. The same cannot be said for Davida and Diane. They managed to form a barrier, but it couldn't hold a candle to the stone golem's power. The impact from the barrier's breaking made the duo spit blood before passing out again. Duncan did not do much better, though, as the shockwave from the punch also damages Duncan's body somehow. "Di, young miss…." Duncan grunted; he tried to grip his greatsword, alas strength leave his body. His eyes slowly close as he watched the stone golem came after him slowly.

The Demon King clapped his hands, "That's it then", he said with a smile on his face. After the Demon King clapped, the stone golem's movement stopped, then it transformed back into its previous form. The stone golem turned to look at the Demon King before bowing. "You did a good job!" the black silhouette praised, clicking his hand. A giant gate appears on the side of the throne room before the stone golem walked slowly towards it. It used its giant hands to open the gate before disappearing inside. The Demon King gathered the unconscious party before chugging them away somewhere with a wave of his hand.

The Demon King chuckled and was about to release Eru when suddenly he heard a clap from somewhere. The Demon King looked down on his throne; his eyes went wide, nearly jumping from his throne. "Good show, father. Good show!" the little bunny cutely said. She raised her head at the black silhouette. The little bunny hopped stair by stair, and eventually, she stood in front of the Demon King. The little bunny cutely moved her body, giving her courtesy towards the Demon King, "Long time no see, father", she said with a smile.

The Demon King shivered, "H-hello, daughter…." He stuttered.
