One Man Army

Few minutes earlier.

As Ling Hong was making his way upstairs, the two had men who were sent out appeared in front of him. With a fierce glare, one of them questioned "Kid, you're the one causing trouble in our place?"

Ling Hong did not reply and instead checked out the two men. Compared to the random lackeys from before, these were high ranking gang members from just their auras. Ling Hong frowned upon noticing that they already had a stench of killing emanating from them. This meant that both were people who killed on a regular basis.

Against these type of people, there was no need to hold back. Drawing a deep breath, he set his gaze on the two men as he walked forward. Seeing that he had no intention of replying, one of the men took out a knife and said "Don't say that I did not warn you."

The man lunged forward to take a jab at Ling Hong. Seeing that Ling Hong was not retreating still, a cruel smile appeared on his face as he stabbed towards his heart.

"Die, brat!" he shouted.

However, he was scared silly when he saw that the knife had barely sunk a few millimeters into Ling Hong. After entering the Qi Refining Realm, Ling Hong had again refined his skin using qi, making it so that ordinary weapons could not even penetrate his skin. While the man was astounded to see that his prey was still alive, Ling Hong grabbed the man's hand using one arm while he punched out with the other.

The man was sent flying from the tremendous force. Seeing this, the other man ran towards him, shouting "Brother Cheng!"

The man named Cheng had hit the wall and crumbled on the floor, lifeless. The other man hurriedly checked for a pulse and was shocked when he saw that he had died. Moreover, from what had happened earlier, he had been hit by only a single punch!

Run!

This was the only thought he had after seeing that the other party was in a whole another level of strength. But before he could act, Ling Hong appeared in front of him using his movement technique and grabbed his throat.

"Talk. How many and who are upstairs?" Ling Hong asked the man.

The man did not dare lie and quickly talked about what he knew.

"Well then, time for you to die." Ling Hong said after he got the information he wanted.

"What! I helped you, don't kill me. Please, I'll do anything." the man begged. Ling Hong was not moved at all and proceeded to crush the man's throat. He then threw the body near that of his companion.

Looking at his hands, he murmured "It's been a long time since I killed someone. I was hoping to leave behind the life of blood and tears, but it looks like I won't be able to."

In his past life, he had lived countless years on the battlefield. For cultivators, the path to being supreme was by building up a mountain of corpses. They would be fighting for their lives as soon as they were introduced to training, else they would find their ends at the hands of a more powerful being.

After reincarnation, Ling Hong was surprised by the peaceful way of life and had hopes for a life without fight. However, within a few days the idea was shattered. He realized that the so called peace was just a cover for an intense storm. Though it was less bloody, the path to life was still one that of survival.

Ling Hong realized that he could only continue to become stronger and stronger to fight against anyone he would encounter as an enemy in the future, in order to protect his loved ones. The people at the orphanage, Li Xin and the Hua sisters - he valued them very much. For them to have a worry free life, the only way was to become the warrior himself.

He walked over to the corpses and pulled the legs as he walked up the stairs. According to the information he had, there were around 50-70 gang members at the core of Azure Dragon along with their boss. There was also something about a 'strong guy' who was under the order of the boss. But Ling Hong was fearless as he approached the room. There were no guards outside, the door was locked from within.

The only way for him to enter was by breaking through the door. Ling Hong flung the two corpses with extreme force against the door.

BAM!

The door was blasted apart, giving way to a hole that he could walk through. Ling Hong slowly walked into room as he carefully observed the room. The entire room was silent, probably from the sudden development. From what he could see, there were some with confused faces, some of panic. In the middle of the room a man was starting at the two corpses that were thrown in. From the characteristics he knew from before, the man was the boss of the organization - Qing Long.

Qing Long shifted his gaze towards Ling Hong who had just come into the room. In his mind, he had already regarded Ling Hong as a huge threat. Without wasting any more time, he yelled "What are you all standing around for? Get that bastard!"

At his words everyone in the room, save a few who acted as the bodyguards of Qing Long grabbed the various weapons they had on hand and went at Ling Hong. Qing Long was sure that even if Ling Hong was powerful, he could not hold up against a crowd. However, his beautiful dream was shattered the next moment, as his eyes widened in horror at the scene that took place.

As the first man attacked Ling Hong with his metal bat, he sidestepped and caught the weapon. He then swung it against the attacker, sending him crashing to those behind him. As men with various weapons like crowbars, knives, axes and all attacked him, Ling Hong gracefully dodged each and every one of the hits, rewarding them with a hit from the metal bat. Within a few minutes, all the attackers were lying on the ground as Ling Hong twirled the bat in his hand. Many were dead and the rest were injured to the point that they would probably be crippled for life.

Ling Hong then turned towards Qing Long and the ten odd men protecting him. Seeing his look, Qing Long panicked and said "Quick, shoot him!"

Having received the order, the men pulled out their guns and aimed at Ling Hong. However, Ling Hong suddenly released a wave of killing intent upon seeing one of the men. It was who had shot him back when he visited the city with Meimei. Sensing the killing intent, the men quickly fired the guns. Gunshots rang as Ling Hong was showered with several bullets.

'There's no way he could have survived it.' Qing Long was happy to see that the attacker was finally dead. Just as he turned to his men to congratulate them, he felt something amiss. Suddenly, the shooters began collapsing one by one. If one looked at the dead bodies, they could see that they were covered with multiple bullet wounds.

Standing across from their dead bodies was Ling Hong, with a metal bat full of dents in his outstretched hand.
