Chapter 27: Izana Vs Gary

After solving the kimono lady's problem, I got right back to getting to my destination, and that was Vermilion City.

It took me 30 minutes to get out of the underground path. I also met some prostitutes who tried to seduce me, but I completely ignored them, as I'm not a guy who would sleep with anyone other than the girls that I love, though there are some exceptions sometimes, but I'm definitely not a playboy.

After getting out of the underground path's exit, I was met with a grassy pathway with trees lining the sides.

As I continued to walk through Route 6, I encountered some random Pokémon like Meowth, Spearow, and some others like Voltorb. Since I'm someone who only catches Pokémon that I like, I ignored them or scared them away with my Charizard.

I also encountered some trainers, but I quickly defeated them as they were too easy for me with my Charizard and Elekid.

"Hey, isn't that you, Izana? It's quite a coincidence to meet you here!" A guy with dark brown hair styled in a swept-back manner, wearing a black jacket with a white collar, along with a pair of blue jeans.

He was in a red, stylish sports car with four beautiful girls wearing cheerleader dresses in the car beside him.

"Oh, it's you Gary! It's quite a coincidence to meet you here, and... it seems you've got yourself a unique group..." I said, as I didn't think I would meet him here, as I thought I would only meet him in the leagues, but I guess fate has other plans.

"So, how many badges have you collected so far?" Gary said with a smirk on his face that I ignored, as I was used to this habit of his.

"I've got two... and you?" I said. I was 99.9% sure that he should have already gotten at least 3 or 4 badges.

"I've got 4 badges, and now I'm going for the 5th one in Saffron City!" He said with a wide smirk.

"Looks like Izana can't keep up with you, Gary! You're unstoppable!" The cheerleaders of Gary said with enthusiasm.

"Do you want to have a 1-on-1 Pokémon battle? To see our progress?" He suggested with a wide smirk as his cheerleaders started to chant his name even louder.

"Gary, Gary, he's our man! If he can't do it, no one can!" They all shouted in unison to his open challenge.

"Well, that's okay. I won't use my starter, though because... If I use it, I'll honestly just be bullying you..." I said with an evil smirk that annoyed him as his facial expression changed for a second before he covered it.

"Tch, Okay!" He said as he reached for his Pokéball that's hanged in his Pokébelt before taking out a Pokéball.

"Go, Wartortle! Show them what you've got!" Gary said as he threw the Pokéball like how bowlers throw in a cricket match.

Then from the Pokéball that's in the air, red streaks of light came before forming Wartortle.

Wartortle is a bipedal, turtle-like Pokémon. It has a light blue body with a slightly darker blue shell on its back. Its shell has a curled shape with two pointed ears-like extensions on the top. Wartortle's tail is long and has a curled tip. It has two small, pointed teeth visible when its mouth is open. Its eyes are large and have white pupils.

"Elekid! It's time to show your might!" I said as I threw the Pokéball in my hands like a professional bowler in cricket.

As the Pokéball was thrown in the air, streaks of red light came from it before forming an Elekid.

Elekid is a small, bipedal Pokémon with a primarily yellow body. Its head is round with two large, black eyes and two small, ear-like extensions on top. These extensions resemble plugs or electrical prongs. Elekid has a blue stripe running down the center of its body, starting from its forehead and continuing down to the tip of its short tail. It has three black stripes on each of its arms and two stripes on each of its legs. Elekid's arms end in three-fingered hands, and it has small feet with two toes each.

"Wartortle! Start off with Aqua Jet!" Gary said as Wartortle charged forward, surrounded by torrent waters, charging forward with great speed, aiming to catch Elekid off guard with his speed, but Elekid was quick to react as he used agility to boost his speed before narrowly avoiding Wartortle's attack.

"Now, counter with Thunder Punch!" I said as Elekid cracked his fist with thunder darting off at Wartortle. But Gary quickly noticed it.

"Dodge it and then use Bite!" Gary counterattacked.

Listening to Gary, Wartortle tried to dodge the Thunder Punch of Elekid and evaded the attack at the last moment with great difficulty. Then Wartortle jumped on Elekid's arm with great strength as he opened his mouth and bit Elekid.

Elekid, who got hit by Bite, winced in pain but quickly composed himself as he pushed away Wartortle with a powerful shove.

"Now, use Thunderbolt!" I commanded as Elekid unleashed a powerful bolt of thunder from his body, aiming at Wartortle.

But Gary didn't seem to be in any panic as he smiled softly before commanding Wartortle.

"Wartortle! Counter with Water Pulse!" Gary said with a slight smile.

Wartortle, hearing it, let out a loud war cry before summoning orbs of water and attacking the incoming Thunderbolt from Elekid.

As the attacks collided, it created a dazzling effect of water and thunder colliding that also created dust that covered both Pokémon. As the attacks continued to collide, they scattered droplets of water and sparks of thunder in every direction.

As the dust got removed, only a single Pokémon remained as the other one was on the ground.

The Wartortle was fainting on the ground while Elekid was on one knee, huffing heavily.

"It seems I won, Gary!" I said with an evil smirk on my face as I faced Gary, who had a very ugly look on his face.

"Tch! Okay, that's my loss! But the next time we fight, I'll be sure to overwhelm you so that I can see your expression at that time!" He said as the cheerleaders commented in sadness, but I ignored them as Gary and I, we both called back our Pokémon, and then Gary sat in his sports car before going on his way with an ugly expression on his face.

Seeing this, I laughed heartily before I started to head towards Vermilion City, which is quite near from here.
