Calixto was looking at the invitation to the birthday of the third prince of the kingdom, he didn't want to go, but it was his obligation to go after all now he was the duke.

He left the invitation on the table and went to look out the window; the sky looked cloudy.

There were three days left until the birthday celebration, he didn't lack anything, so he prepared to continue working on his obligations as the duke.

Somewhere else…

Emma was spying on some people who seemed suspicious to her or rather she was gossiping listening to other people's conversations.

Why's that? Well the answer would be the new gossip of the moment and it's not that she cared much about the gossip, but rather the person they were talking about.

She was behind a table in a beauty products store, some customers were talking about the return of the knights.

Her brother Adam had already returned, so normally she wouldn't be interested in gossip that had to do with that.

However, when she heard that they were talking about Duke Calixto Blake, she couldn't help but stay and listen to the conversation secretly.

"Adam came back a week ago, when did he come back?" Emma thought doubtfully, for some reason she was interested in knowing about him.

The knights had arrived on different dates, some arrived days before and others later, but Emma had not heard news about Calixto's return to the kingdom.

"And to think that there are three days left until the celebration"

Emma put aside her thoughts and paid more attention to the ladies' conversation.

—Do you think Duke Calixto will go to the celebration? —a lady asked another lady.

"I don't think..." she responded with a smile and added. —It would be a shame for him to have to attend meetings and parties.

"Well, are you stupid?" Duke Calixto has to attend for the mere fact that it is his obligation as a nobleman. —Said a lady arrogantly, with a look that said "I'm smarter than you." The arrogant lady felt like a professional on the subject, it was her turn to brag about herself.

The other women looked at her with displeasure, since, anyway, they are just ordinary people, they are not even rich people. What's wrong with her not knowing a few things?

And then; They continued with the direction of her conversation.

—I wish I were a noble, to see how nobles humiliate each other. — a lady made a strange face of pleasure when imagining a series of events that perhaps would only happen in her imagination

"Humiliations are never lacking!" A lady exclaimed, laughing, as she hit the table.

—I bet you these ten silver coins that they humiliate Duke Calixto at the celebration. —the oldest lady in the group commented casually.

—ahh! but that's obvious. —said a lady with short hair

"Well, well, I was just saying," the lady clarified, apparently she couldn't make easy money anymore, which was a shame.

-I know! Let's better bet who Miss Aela's future fiancé will be. —commented another of the ladies.
