Kaori Amano is the richest, most famous streamer on Earth. Well, she was up until she was brutally killed. But, upon death, she was told she could continue her life in another world. Same soul, same body. No harm in that, right?.... ......Right?..... Maybe if she wasn't suddenly put into a parallel, futurisric world by the Goddess Persephone that was currently in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Or being isolated from safety while a herd is but a few inches from her, separated only by a blast door about to open. Oh, and not only is she living in this undead apocalypse, she is a part of it! And there’s no easy way out. This version of Kaori was a participant in the program that sent the rich to space in order to wait out the apocalypse…. Too bad it followed the rich into space as well. Luckily Persephone isn’t completely screwing over Kaori. She is being gifted power and magical items in exchange for purging zombies. Note: Because of creating a futuristic, space society, there are a lot of things that will need to be explained. This means the beginning will be a bit slow. No smut, no yuri, no harem. Because Kaori was technically new to the world now, she couldn't locate her father easily. In fact, she wasn't even used to having one. Her father was dead before she was born.
The worker, Henry, that had offered to take her to her father, had problem solved for her quickly, taking her to the cockpit where the pilots always know his location.
The worker had remained just outside the door while Kaori made her way in, and when she walked inside, she realized it was nearly identical to the Matador's cockpit; the main difference was that it was full of living people hard at work.
Aside from looking down at Earth instead of being on it, the normalcy made her feel grounded.
"Where is my father!?" Kaori called out frantically, calling attention to herself publicly, and willingly for the first time in years outside of a stream.
But when the entire room suddenly got quiet and looked at her in unison, a rush of embarrassment overcame her, and she quickly apologized for interrupting them. She remained strong, however. "I need to talk to my father immediately and I can't find him, please!"
"Are you feel-" one of the many faces began, but was interrupted by Kaori.
"Please, I'm okay, just tell me where he is."
The fact that this man has never been found, and I have a bad case of amnesia, I can't trust anyone other than who Jesse told me to go to. But my father? I have never seen him before in my life. Not even an obituary. I have no idea who he is at all.
"What's going on up here!?" A calm, but demanding feminine voice boomed out from behind the console in front of the giant window. From Kaori's point of view, it appeared she was suddenly manifesting, coming from the floor like there was a staircase there. First was her white with black stitching hat that looked like an airplane captain's; The Captain of The Accular is a woman.
And as she appeared she was staring in Kaori's direction, resembling a goddess if one was human.
Her skin was fair and clear, and her blue eyes nearly glowed with the long, fine black curtain of hair that stopped just shy of the nape of her back. She was wearing a black and white bodysuit that hugged her tall, slim frame, with an orange circle upon the upper right arm of it.
Her eyes, despite being so enchanting, glared at Kaori like a mother scolding her child; but they looked about the same age. 20.
"You may be the princess, Kaori, but in this room, you will answer to me." She scolded her, leaving Kaori dumbfounded.
I suppose I did let the idea of being princess get to my head a bit.
"I'm looking for my father?" She admitted sheepishly.
The Captain rounded the console, before leaning upon it lazily and crossing her arms, facing the new princess. "Your father?" Her eyes became curious. "Why can't you ask him where he is?" Kaori didn't respond; she had no idea how to.
The 6'3 woman clicked her tongue, "figured." She stood up, and began to make her way over to Kaori, her heels clicking against the metal, her size and haste intimidating. She wasn't reincarnated, but she was powerful. "I will need for you to fill out necessary paperwork to become an official citizen of The Accular."
Before Kaori had a chance to respond, the Captain grabbed her by the face in 1 hand upon reaching her, squeezing both cheeks as she man-handled her to turn her head to either side. "No dermals."
"Dermals?"
"That is how we communicate amongst communities," she let go of the much shorter than her, white-haired, woman, straightening herself back out; towering the 5'4 Kaori.
The princess moved her fingers up to her temples, and felt the small metal inserts for a dermal piercing.
"SableAI," the captain walked past her to exit the cockpit, "I will take you to your father, and we will discuss the paperwork with him; given the circumstances. Follow me, he's in the Planetarium."
The door to the cockpit shot open when she typed in her code, and closed when she typed it in again. The worker who was still waiting for Kaori, was dwarfed by the Captain as well, intimidated when she stopped to stare down at him. So, he simply excused himself from the princess, rapidly taking back off towards the hanger.
"Where did you just come from?" Kaori accidently slipped, as she sped walk to match her leader's walking speed.
She still couldn't get over where the woman had come from. The cockpit was a twin to the one she had gained consciousness in, and she knew the Matador didn't have a staircase behind that console.
"Private Captain quarters. We cannot be too far from the controls unless absolutely necessary." She huffed, "I was enjoying my nap when I got word the Princess was acting a fool."
Kaori's cheeks turned red, "I'm sorry." Though, in an attempt to try and redeem herself, she asked for her name.
"Nikita Banes." Her response was short and to the point, seemingly no interest in conversation that wasn't business, and Kaori got the hint; shutting up quickly and just following the tall woman like a lost puppy.
They turned down many halls on their trek towards the Planetarium, all similar to one another except for differently labeled rooms, and the occasional signs on the wall directing to certain locations.
They went up a few levels via an elevator, before making it to a large, brightly lit space museum type room that was empty. The room had random space facts littered about the room, with pictures, as well as samples from certain planets. In the center were a few wooden benches that were collecting dust, sitting next to old magazines in dirty racks.
The Captain sighed, the only hint of emotion she had shown since Kaori had met her; but she didn't mutter a word. Instead, she continued to a set of stairs that were against the wall furthest from them that led to a hatch like door.
Nikita instructed Kaori to go up them, before informing her she will wait in the museum until her and her father come down.
As the Captain made her way to the benches, Kaori made her way up the short staircase, quickly reaching the hatch door.
When she went to open it, she expected it to be somewhat heavy, but upon lifting it, it was nothing her new body couldn't handle.
However, when she opened it, she never expected what it would reveal and she began to have an instant panic attack; her eyes becoming blurry and her legs beginning to wobble.
The door opened up into space; everything but the floor was a giant view of it. But she didn't die, nor did the oxygen content change.
She had entered into a gigantic dome.
"Kaori?" She heard a gentle, frail, yet masculine voice approach her.
The sound of the man brought her back briefly when she noticed his voice was coming from inside the dome.
"Are you my father?" She asked the mysterious voice, the only thing she could think of to say.
"I suppose I am," he chuckled.
