Reincarnated as a Shadow Dragon

An 18 year old shut-in finally leaves his house for the first time in, what seemed to be, years. He was kicked out of his home by his parents and was left to wander the streets alone until he can find a job and a stable life. But unbeknownst to him, that would be the last day of his life. Not everyone's story ends with a happy ending. But that isn't the end just yet. As he is reincarnated as a shadow dragon, the last shadow dragon of its kind. But this particular shadow dragon is different. More intelligent from the rest.

Weaker in the Sunlight

I searched the forest for hours, looking for a large creature to test out my new-found skills on. And soon enough, I managed to catch a big one.

It was a huge bear, but its fur was a green colour and it had moss growing out of it. That's new... I guess?

I'm assuming the bear is green to camouflage in the bushes, but what would it need to hide from? I thought bears were apex predators.

Maybe it's like a polar bear, using its colour to sneak up on prey due to most of them being faster than itself.

I waste no time running up to the bear and roaring in its face, making it irritated. It shoots me a roar back, which was much more intimidating than what I gave it. Now that I'm up close, it looks way bigger than I thought. I feel like you could stack 3 adult men and measure them with this bear, and it'd still be taller!

[You... stupid young dragon.] My eyes widened as I heard a voice in my head. What the hell was that?!

[I am the apex predator of this forest, and you dare to threaten me?] It asks, with a short laugh afterwards.

Its eyes had turned into a luminescent green colour, and it's staring right at me! I think the bear is talking to me using some kind of telepathy!

The bear snorts as it looks at my scales, [You're a shadow dragon! What're you even doing here in the sunlight, fool?!]

Wait, sunlight was the reason that I got destroyed by that goblin?!

[You look surprised, did you not realise?] The bear slaps me in the face with its huge claws, [However, you started this fight. So now, you'll fight me to the death!]

I stare at the bear, as the wound on my face closes up, with my purple luminescent eyes. This guy pisses me off! Don't tell me everyone in this world is like this!

I shoot out a darkness blade towards the bear, but it easily flicks its claws and my projectile is immediately redirected to a tree next to me.

[That was a nice try.] The bear points a claw at me and chuckles, [But like I said, you're weaker in the sunlight.]

The bear runs at me, although it was quite slow which made it easy to strafe out of the way of it's charge attacks. But then, its mouth opened wide as it began to charge something up.

[From what I've witnessed, you're that dragon that destroyed the goblin village up north.] The bear states after a sigh, [I appreciate you for destroying those disgusting creatures, they've been giving me trouble for months. I would spare you, but you've brought this upon yourself.]

Suddenly, a green beam with leaves flying of it was shot directly towards me from out of the bear's mouth!

I barely managed to dodge the blast, it only grazed my wing, but the impact of the explosion when it collided with a tree sent me towards the bear. Only for it to slash at me with its claws, sending me flying into a tree.

Once I recovered from the combo, I stood up weakly and attempted to use the shotgun-like move I used. But as expected, the bear chuckled and effortlessly flicked them away. And even the blades that did hit him, it didn't even do any lasting damage from it! No blood was shed at all!

[I must've let those projectiles slip past,] The bear glares at me before rubbing where the slashes had managed to hit it, [But it seems like I don't even need to counter those. They do no damage whatsoever.]

I snarl at the bear and attempted to look bigger by raising my wings in the air. But, all I really did was entertain the beast with my antics.

[What are you attempting to do?] The bear grabs the tip of my tail and rips it off with ease, [Scare me? You pathetic creature.]

I scream in pain as I feel the warm blood trickling out of my tail and onto the floor. The puddle on the floor gets more and more thicker as the more time that passes.

But suddenly, the same "darkness aura" shoots out from my wings and into the sky, then it encases me and the bear in some kind of sphere-like object. It turns the entire area around us dark, and I can feel the strength flowing into my body.
