chapter 15 origin

Cyro pov:

"Hey are you going to answer me.....?" Seeing the chief was not answering I signer Pyro and he use his magic to threaten him but he didn't budge.

I got to thinking what why to get him talking and after 20 minutes I figure a way.

"Hey chief if you don't want us it's origin then we can just destroy since another artifact like this very dangerous after all." Pyro looked worried after this was a very valuable item but he had trust in me.

The chief he didn't believe me but I told Pyro to burn it and he did. The chief was scared and he said he would tell us it's origin.

I had put a magic protection on it so wasn't worried when Pyro burn it. And my plan work so it's two bird in one stone.

We walk out of the prison and told the guard to bring the chief to my tent.

"Hey Cyro how did you know he would tell us the origin when you threaten the core." I see Pyro is not as bright as I thought.

"Well he's a master blacksmith like every renowned blacksmith they are very worried with valuable material after all they are hard to come by."It is common sense to blackmail prisoner.

We at my tent and when he arrived I started to ask about the core.

"Where did you got it?"

"Well I was in need for rare material for project but the council didn't approve it so I had to find the material myself. I venture to the unexplored place because all the explored place had no material I want. While I was exploring I found a dungeon in a cave. The entrance was massive bigger than the dwarves castle gate." He drank some water than continue to talk.

"I was astonished with all the ancient runes that was written on the doors. I used 2 years to descript all the runes cuz the kingdom has almost no info on the runes, it some translation but not all the word. So I had to guess some of the word. After I descript all the words. The door open inside was the core with runes written 'Who should use this core for their own good shall have a painful death.' I had no idea what it was so I brought I back and research it after I found out it was a energy sources the runes made sense.I thought it was a trap a mechanic that will trigger when I use it for a weapon. But after all the time i done research and experiments on it. It didn't have any mechanic or runes just a powerful power source. So I thought it was a bluff but after a time a thief broke into my warehouse saw it and they tried to steal the core but they die shortly after. So I concluded the writing was true.And had I no intention to use it for self gain so I had no problem with it."

Hmm from I heard the core has a mind of its own does that mean the one back at our empire has a conscious too? I need to alert the researchers when I go back.

"So what happen next?"

"Well I used it to power my workshop and the cities. And when you guys attack us I had the idea to use it for a weapon." Logical answer I guess.

"I was scared the core would be use for evil even if it has the power to kill said user. The time for it to kill the people is inconsistent. I figure it out because my workshop have been broken into even after all the security I place and each time the invade die is not the same once the invade die after 5 days. I was almost stress to death that day."

"I see....." It seems this core is more dangerous than of us has imagined.
