Chapter 18 Revelation

Varz continued to follow laha, while still deep I thought.

'How can I get stronger?' Can I depend on laha to have the time to teach me?' Looking towards the flaming lady in front of him, Varz quickly threw that thought out the window ' She will roast me before I can even ask for help, and that's even with me made out of flames.'

Sigh!

Nothing was going right. It seems like his peaceful times with laha had dulled his resolve. when he accepted his new identity, he accepted the possibility of training super hard and having a rock hard resolve, but it seems like walking with a super strong companion had made him forget everything.

If he could not depend on anyone then he would depend on himself.

Thinking back to the fight, Varz began to review everything he had seen laha do. Maybe with the mind of a technologically advanced being, he would be able to think of a way to replicate her actions.

Firstly he had seen her manipulate the flames on and around her to form different shapes and weapons.

'How did she do that?' He thought for some time, when suddenly it clicked. He remembered in the beginning when he was checking his stats, in one of his skills, the system had said that as a fire elemental, he had the innate ability to manipulate and control fire.

At this moment, he wanted to slap himself in the head for not figuring it out sooner.

But wait, isn't it supposed to be an innate ability, like I should already know how to use it.

So why did it take me this long to figure it out?

Is it because I am not the original owner of this body?

The more Varz thought, the more the explanation seemed plausible.

'Hmmm if my hypothesis is right, what else do I know know that was supposed to be inherent?.' the more he thought, the more he realized that this life was not going to be as easy as he thought

Varz was so engrossed in his thoughts that he did not notice that laha had stopped running until it was too late.

He was about to bump into her when she suddenly turned around and flipped him over her head.

Once again how they were touching each other, seeing as they were made out of flame, he didn't know. But what he did know now was that it seemed like it was possible to judo flip a man mad e out of plasma(Fire)

~Thud~

His back landed with a painful thud. Varz was about to groan out loud when he suddenly noticed laha's fingers to her lips( how he knew, I don't know. just go with the flow).

'Somethings wrong' becoming alert, Varz scanned his surroundings for any signs of movement. Upon seeing no one, Varz was about to give up when he remembered about his elementary energy sensory ability.

Deciding to switch methods of approach, Varz activated his ability.

Unlike the first time that he could only feel the vile energy of a demon, this time it was like his whole being could react to the elements.

His eyes showed different colors of elements and auras, his skin felt more sensitive to the elements and auras in the air, while his nose could tell the difference between the elements and auras around him.

The region he was in was filled with a dark red hue, dying his surroundings in it's sickening color, his skin itched and tingled as he felt a sudden irritation for the area which he laid. From what he was feeling with his outward senses, Varz didn't want to talk , fearing that he will somehow be able to taste what this aura was like.

He didn't need to be a genius for him to figure out who this aura belonged to, but the shocking thing was that for miles out, the aura still overshadowed every other aura that was in the area.

'How strong was this demon for it to spread it's aura so fast?' just the thought made his body quake in fear

"Something is majorly wrong"

Varz looked at laha and what he saw was not reassuring. Her usually bright flames were now dim, threatening to disappear from sight.

"Laha what's wrong" Varz asked in concern.

She looked at him before answering in a shaky voice.

"The region covered by the aura is too large. This kind of residue aura can only be left by a devil" At the end of her statement her voice started to break.

Hearing the new term she used, Varz became confused.

'I am really getting tired of all this confusion'.

"What's the difference between a demon and a devil?"

Varz was expecting a snarky comment from her, but instead was met with a meek reply.

"A devil is an advancement a demon makes when they have passed danger level ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️. So the fact that there is a being that is maybe as strong as a devil deep within our territory just shows that something is seriously wrong."

Fear gripped Varz heart leaving him immobile.

What was danger level ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️ (8)

Just a fight between danger level ☠️☠️☠️☠️ (4) terra the area, so what could a danger level ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️ (8) do?

Whatever it could do, Varz didn't want to find out. Like people always said I. his last life "whatever is dangerous can't harm you, when it can't find you.

"What are you doing! this isn't the time to be feeling hopeless, we have to get out of here" Varz whispered.

It seemed like his words had woken her up, but she still didn't move.

"Let's go!"

Time seemed to be running out. With the sudden revelation, Varz felt like there was a reaper with a scythe just looming over his head, ready to put off his lights.

"We can't be hasty. A being of that level is different from the understanding of a tier 4(danger level ☠️☠️☠️☠️) being. Just from it's aura, it could sense something being amiss, and kill us instantly without even being here" she stated.

Once again Varz was grateful that he was no longer human and did not need to attend to any bodily functions, if not the situation would have been way shittier.
