Unwanted Captured Soul

"How did I end up here?" said the slave waking up, and wondering and feeling perplexed how she ended up there in a matter of a few days.

She recalled three days ago, traveling in a cart with her dad and mom on their way to the 'City of Mathema', a dream she had cherished since childhood, now coming true at 18... but not where she should be.

The last thing she could remember was her father hid her inside the cart and told her to hide under the wood plank in the back of the cart made as a hiding place beforehand.

She waited many hours in the hiding place and unintentionally fell asleep, and the next thing she knew, she was lonely in a cage wearing worn-out gray dirty clothing more similar to a piece of dirty fabric for washing dishes sewn together.

Looking ahead, she could see many other cages with all kinds of other people of different races wearing the same kind of dirty fabric as her.

She was sitting on the solid ground of the cage, and it looked like it was underground as there were no windows and little light of a few mana lamps scattered far away from each other.

"I-I am a slave?... Wh-where is Dad?... Am-am I go-going to be so-sold?... Wi-will I d-die?!"

She started ruminating about all the ominous possibilities her observations could mean.

All these thoughts made her body curl up and tremble as she moved back sticking to the back of the cage she was in.

Perspiring and drowning in a cold sweat, drops of tears started running down her eyes while she was chanting words out of intense fear.

"I- I am not a s- slave!"

"D-dad is alive, he will come to s-save me!"

"I-it's just a m-m-mistake!"

"I-I w-will be r-released o-once they k-know I-I'm not the r-right p-person!"

"I-I don't w-wanna be s-s-sold!"

"I wanna g-go h-home..."

"I w-wanna s-see m-mom..."

"I d-don't wanna be s-someone's p-p-property!"

"Y-y-yeah, I-I j-just h-have to w-wait... D-dad!"

"?#$%!"

"Nobody's gonna come for you, stop fantasizing," said a short woman arriving in front of her cage.

"Wh-what do you mean?"

"I mean you're already sold under a name given to you, he's gonna pick you up tomorrow, and you're now nothing other than an eternal obligatory plaything of him."

"Eat this, and just wait for your owner," the short woman said as she threw a plate of disgusting soup into her cage, and it looked like it was cooked in the toilet then boiled and cooled down.

The woman then immediately left out of a door far away from her cage.

She moved the soup plate away from her with her foot while holding her nose out of the unbearable stench.

"I-I have to e-escape!" she muttered as she tried looking around to not attract unwanted attention.

The slaves in the 'Elysiuma' world would be sold and have a sign etched on their body with a spell when they met their owner which would make them unable to disobey any orders they're given from that person.

So, Because she hadn't met her owner yet and didn't have a sign etched on her, today was her only chance to save her life.

After a minute, he couldn't see and hear the sounds of any staff of the slave keepers.

The other slaves had all given up as most of them were asleep or wouldn't care even if someone escaped as it was obvious from their cold emotionless eyes that they could only see their dark future.

She turned around, her back facing the door of the cage, "I-it has to work n-now," she muttered as she tried chanting a spell she had been trying her whole life to do but it never could do it completely.

'Dark Teleportation spell' is a spell that allows the user to mix in with the darkness in the surroundings and teleport at a predetermined distance by chanting the spell.

"Ahh!" she failed once at performing the spell and was pushed back as her head hit the solid ground.

"Ouch!"

The back of her head started bleeding slightly due to hitting a small rock.

"I-I c-can't give up!"

She tore apart a piece of her clothing wrapped it around her head, and continued trying to perform the spell.

Thump

"Argh!"

Again, she failed and was thrown farther as her back hit the door of the cage causing her to cough blood.

"N-not y-yet!"

she crawled back to the darkness as she tried performing the spell again.

Bash

"ARGH!"

She failed again as she was thrown to the side of the cage, and her back got injured bleeding.

"T-th-this t-time!"

She crawled back into the darkness once again, not intending to give up despite everything seeming as grim as it could be for her.

... This time a bright sparkle appeared and she closed her eyes expecting it to fail again...

But it didn't and opening her eyes, she saw her hands were covered with something like a bright glow of light but instead with darkness.

"F-finally!" she muttered quietly, and looking around one last time to see there was no one, she quickly turned her head around and gazed at the shadowy ground.

"Darkness teleportation spell" she muttered one last time as she pressed her hand on the ground, the finishing words for completing the spell.

Abruptly the darkness enveloped her, making her whole body turn into a shadowy figure in a second, and after 1 pause in a moment... she vanished from her cage.

... "Hah!"

"Ouch!"

She hit her head on the wall, managed to escape out of the underground of slaves, and was teleported to the upper slave marketplace where she set her destination and was the most distance she could do.

"Phew, then that's 1st step," she muttered.

She had to escape from the upper market of the slave market too, and it wasn't any easier task as it was a lot busy and couldn't even compare to the desolate underground.

She intended to turn around and move cautiously toward the exit she knew nothing about and hoped to find, as she heard screams of pain.

"ARGH!"

"AHHH!"

"PLEASE, SPA-"

"YOU CAN-"

"WHO AR-"

"WE WILL T-"

"MONSTE-"

"AAARGH!"

"GAH!"

Hearing all the voices of people screaming in pain and agony while it was accompanied by sounds of blood splattering all around.

"B-b-be b-brave!" she stuttered trying to gather the courage to escape from the unknown chaotic sounds.

Taking a deep breath, she started to crawl on the ground trying her best to ignore all the painful voices begging for mercy and cursing the culprit.

Moving behind the many stalls, she was just moving straight ahead without any goal hoping to get away from the supposed psychopath killer.

"I can see it!" she thought as she spotted an open door on her right leading up, and bloody bodies scattered around the way to it.

He got up from her crawling position holding on her knees as she set her eyes on her goal: the life-saver door.

Pressing one foot backward, she prepared to run with all the strength she had left.

"NOW!" At his command, she burst out from behind the stalls, sprinting—more like hobbling

—with all the energy she could muster, despite feeling slightly dizzy from her bleeding head and injured back.

"Ahhh!"

Her foot caught on something, causing her to fall face-first, her hands reaching out to break her fall.

"N-not n-now..."

she muttered, trying to push herself up, but the pain was too much.

She could only manage to crawl towards the door leading up.

"Argh!"

Each movement intensified the pain in her back, but she persisted, moving as fast as she could manage, which was no faster than a turtle.

"Where are you going?"

"AHHH! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!"

Terrified, she turned around, closing her eyes and covering her face with her arms, expecting the worst.

"Who talked about killing you? Aren't you a slave? I didn't hurt any slaves, so how are you here, crawling along the ground?"

His calm voice confused her.

Slowly, she opened her eyes, peeking out from behind her arms.

"Ahhh!"

Another scream escaped her as she saw the man's ominous mask, resembling a red devil, grinning broadly with joyful eyes, all covered in blood.

Silence followed.

She dared to glance at him again, finding him staring straight ahead, seemingly lost in thought.

"Wh-what d-do y-you w-want?" she whimpered, bracing herself for the worst.

"Do you want to come with me?"

"huh?!"
