Chapter 2 - What’s Going On?!

What.

The.

Fuck.

These three words were like a plague in Erida's head. She was pissed.

"What the fuck is this pseudo reincarnation!? Do you gods hate me?!! Why!? Why!!??"

Erida had woken up within a seemingly endless darkness, however she believed she had finally reincarnated a life worth living. So she explored, and explored, and explored. The darkness, however, would never end.

"I swear if you gods could see me right now I am flipping you off so hard!"

Coincidentally after saying this she tripped, on a rock, a very small rock. This gave her hope! Maybe she did actually reincarnate, just deep in a cave.

Pumping herself up again she tried running instead of walking, and she ran felt like ages. Until…

CRACK

"Ow! You damned gods! Why me!?

She had ran face first into a wall, and she was now flat on her butt rubbing her nose.

"I hope it isn't broken…"

Regaining her senses she looked around, then immediately facepalmed.

"What good is looking around Erida if you can't see anything."

Erida promptly stood up and walked along the wall. She hoped it would lead to the exit.

Walking along the wall for what felt like hours Erida stopped, stomped, and plopped onto the floor. She of course began to pout and complain, she angrily looked to the floor and at her feet.

Why had she not looked at her appearance before?

"Hmm. Oh. Oh!"

Erida quickly stood up and began to run along the wall. She hadn't seen her appearance because she literally couldn't! It was too dark and now there was some light, keep in mind some.

Running for hours again, she could see more! So she continued and continued, slowly getting closer to the source of the light.

She could see it! The sun! She was free and she couldn't contain her excitement.

Running out of the cave she began to bask in the sun, rolling around like a child. The warmth was beyond relaxing to Erida who had been trapped in true darkness for hours and hours.

Calming herself down, she sat up straight and opened her eyes.

"Uh… Hello?"

FWOOSH

A tail struck Erida directly in her chest, and sending her tumbling back into the cave.

Unfortunately Erida's shock could only begin as she received a notification. This of course shocked Erida much further as she bore witness to a system popping up in front of her.

"Oh? What's this? Hmm…"

Erida has no idea what a system is and only stared at it before a window popped up in front of her.

Erida stared at the window before coming to her senses and skeptically entered her name.

Erina jumped out of her skin, looking around in a panic.

"Where?! Who's there?! I'm not afraid of you."

This did calm Erina down a little however she did still have suspicions.

A window then popped up in front of Erida which seemed to be a home screen of sorts, though Erida didn't know that. She didn't know what the stats icon was, and she was too embarrassed to ask, so she guessed. She did, however, guess right.

Erida was still on edge, but that was overcame by annoyance.
