At sharply 6 o'clock in the morning, Clarke woke up, ready for the day. He quickly grabbed his clothes, went to the restroom adjacent to his room, washed off his face, and went back into his small room to change.
After he was done, Basmon decided to bring up the binding. He only had one more quest to complete then rank up, then he would become E rank.
'Clarke... Would you like to bind to me?' Basmon questioned Clarke.
"Bind? But why would a sentient item want to bind with me?" Clarke questioned back.
To be honest, Basmon had not prepared for this question. He just had his quest in mind, and kind of wanted to help Clarke get revenge.
'Hmm... Well, I feel kind of bad for you... I guess you could say I want to help you get revenge on this disgusting family...'
"I...I don't want that... Even if he treats me like a slave... He's still my child..."
'...'
"I guess... I could get revenge on the family who killed Anne, but not my boy..."
'Wait... How is that your child? You are older than him by at least 50 years... Not to be rude, of course!!!'
"Umm... Well, when Anne gave birth, the child was about to die, and to save him the Main Clan that was chasing Anee used some magic to freeze him until they were able to get their hands on a SS rank item that could even bring the dead back. I, of course, served the family while they were saving him... So I guess I also owe the Clan..."
'...I guess...'
In the end, Basmon decided not to force Clarke to bind with him. Clarke then went to the young boy, whose name was revealed by Clarke to be Adam.
"Young Master... Please get up." Clarke said, knocking on the door. Inside, there was some loud commotion, then Adam came out, his entire body covered in little cuts. Inside the room, there was a large magic circle.
"Young Master!!! Black Magic!!! How could you?" Clarke said, dispair clearly on his voice. If he had a say, he would have never raised his child like this. Sadly, the child doesn't even know he is his biological father.
"Bastard! Who cares! It's just some black magic..." Adam said, glaring at Clarke.
"I am sorry... Young Master, you know Black Magic is banned by the Holy Church... And for good reason, you know once you get to advanced Black Magic it requires human sacrifice! I must tell the church..." Clarke said, tears forming in his eyes. He was devastated. He never would have imagined that his child would try something so forbidden.
"Do it! I'll have dad kill you!" The boy threatened Clarke.
"I'm sorry... This is... How..." Clarke said, as if trying to convince himself it wasn't true.
Adam looked at Clarke funny, then reached inside his robe, grabbing something. His hand flashed, and out came a knife, going straight towards Clark's throat. Clarke jumped back, barely dodging the knife.
"Adam!!! How could you!" He exclaimed, tears starting to freely fall. He turned around and started to run to his room.
"Basmon! Mr. Bow! I'll Bind!" He yelled as he ran into his room, slamming the door behind him. Behind him, Adam started banging the door.
Basmon had seen the entire thing, and so accepted.
'Alright! Quickly! Drop a small amount of blood on me!' Basmon responded.
Clarke grabbed a small glass bottle in his room, smashed it, and cut his fingure.
'Ooh... Ouch...' Basmon thought to himself, allowing Clarke to grab him and drop his blood onto him.
<Bind: Would you like to bind to Clarke (No Last Name)? Y/N>
An option from the system appeared, and Basmon quickly chose yes.
<Congratulation on your first bind! Raised amount of TP to 100TP as a reward>
Basmon ignored the announcement after noting he now had 100TP.
The door started to break.
'Under the bed! There is a small little patch! Grab it, and sent some mana into it!' Basmon commanded.
Clarke quickly did that, and the quiver sprung out. He slung it over his back and grabbed Basmon.
'Do you have any training in archery?' Basmon asked.
"A little bit! I can at least shoot a bow!" Clarke said, loading an arrow from the quiver into the bow. He started to wait for Adam to break down the door and didn't have to wait long.
"Please... Adam! Stop! Please" Clarke begged, tears still coming down his face.
"Shut your d*mn mouth up! No!" Adam said, not even wondering where Clarke had gotten a bow.
He then jumped towards Clarke, who released the arrow. To hit Adams's left leg, but he kept attacking. Clarke used the bow to fend off the attacks.
-30 Durability
'Stop! Don't use me to defend! I'll break! Just put some distance between you two, run out the door!' Basmon screamed at Clarke internally.
'Yessir!' Clarke Respounded telepathically, which they could do because they were bound now.
Clarke ran towards the door, crashing into the huge hallway that was bigger than the average American house. He was extremely fit, surprising for an older man.
He stopped, turned around, nocked an arrow, and released it, hitting Adam in the arm holding the knife.
Adam collapsed to the ground, screaming at Clarke.
What had happened slowly dawned on the shocked Clarke, whose tears had never stopped flowing. He slowly realized that he should flee. He got up and ran out of the huge mansion. He slowly looked back, seeing the large courtyard and small pond. His head filled with many complicated emotions, remorse, sorrow, everything. He looked at the pond, remembering his first kiss there...
He turned around and started to run. Just run. The wind flew against his face, and he had no idea where he was going. He just ran. For 2 straight days, he just ran, until his body collapsed near a lake. He had carried Basmon the whole way. During the entire trip, Basmons thoughts couldn't reach Clarke.
Using bow control, he released himself from Clarke's tight grip, going over to the water, trying to figure out a way to get Clarke water. After a while of not being able to figure it out, he decided to drag Clarke to the water, then try to force water into him. He summoned his spectral body and put the bow over his back. He had no idea how that worked, it seemed like a magnet. He then tried to grab Clarke, but then learned this body had almost no strength. He just seemed to be able to hold the bow and run fast. He felt like he was being restrained when he tried to pick up Clarke.
After a bit of debating, he started to collect water in his hands, bring it to Clarke, and dump it into his mouth. Most of it was wasted, but that was the best he could do.
After about 30 minutes of doing this, he quit and started to heal himself.
It took him a couple of hours, but he finally healed himself.
After Clarke woke up, Basmon had had Clarke explain to him what 'White Magic' and 'Black Magic' were. It turns out that black magic was magic that did not require an item to use, and used human sacrifices instead. It was also stronger than white magic. White magic, on the other hand, used items as a medium along with the item's basic skills to cast magic, as humans had almost no precise mana control.
*4 Days Later.
"Got it!" Clarke said, after bowing down a deer. He had recovered, and after a couple of days getting over what had happened, he still had slight trauma but had mostly gotten over it. Clarke grabbed the deer, slung it over his shoulder, and went back to the temporary camp they had set up in a forest. Near them, they had a brook, and there were almost no animals that were dangerous.
<Quest Complete: Bind To Someone: +20 TP>
A notification rung in Basmon's nonexistent ears.
<Congratulations! All Quests for rank F complete! Rank Up!>
<11%>
<43%>
<91%>
<Complete>
<Congradulations! You are now Rank E! Gained free skill: Arrow Bounce>
<Durability: +100>
<Mana: +40>
The Notifications kept ringing.
Once they stopped, Basmon decided to check out what 'Arrow Bounce' was.
'Information of Arrow Bounce Please!' He thought.
<Arrow Bounce: Cost 10 Mana, Makes A shield of mana that an arrow can bounce off of. Can be used both defensively and offensively>
'Holy Cow! That's a great skill!' Basmon said, elated.
'Shop' Basmon commanded, as he now had 120TP.
<Skill: Teleporting Arrow>
<Skill: Ice Arrow>
<Skill: Arrow Telekenises>
The list kept going. Going to rank E had added about 20 Skills to the shop. After a bit of debating internally, Basmon decided to buy 2 skills and keep 40 in case of emergency. He got the skill 'Teleporting Arrow' and Ice Arrow, for 60TP and 20TP respectively.
<Teleporting Arrow: Cost: 30 MANA: Can teleport an arrow in a radius of 10 meters around it, keeps momentum>
<Ice Arrow: Summons an arrow made of ice, freezes whatever it hits: Cost 6 MANA>
'Wonderful... These skills seem a lot stronger...' Basmon said, contemplating a new combo he could use to fight.
"Basmon! I found a bear we could fight!" Clarke said, walking back into the camp.
'Wonderful, I was wanting to test my new skills.' Basmon responded telepathically.
