Reincarnated: A (Not So) Normal Adventurer

Tony was always dreaming of magic. He had a good life but when a god offered him the role of true god over a fantasy world how can he refuse “but it might be boring being this OP. I want to try to live like a (semi) normal adventurer.” He thought “Wait I have a idea” .... This is the first novel I’m writing so I hope it is at least readable. Yes it’s not that ground braking but I hope it is a fun read.

Leveling Up

It had been a couple hours since I had first gotten into this world. I had already found a small clearing near a river where I decided to set up my camp. And by camp I really mean just some sticks and rocks I gathered in order to start making a fire. Luckily I figured out that I can keep those items in my inventory, so I don't have to carry them around.

But before I could start to do anything I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. When I turned around I saw a small green gelatinous blob jumping towards me. 'Ha my first encounter with a monster in this world. Let's see its stats.' "[Appraisal]"

Type: Green Slime

Level: 1

Health: 10

Magic: 0

Tame-able: Yes {No}

'Huh so I guess if it's a monster I don't get to see much, but I wonder if I can't tame this monster what can be tamed.' Finally I decided to get closer to it because, as I was level 1, I didn't have any actual spells to use.

I easily dodged to the right when it lunged at me while bringing my sword down. To my surprise my sword cut through the body like it was, well, slime. I stopped for a second but then I started to see the two half's slowly stick themselves back together. I quickly took a look at the slimes health and saw that I had done 5 damage. But since it was slow I swung my sword again, this time the thing seemed to deflate and a message popped up in my field of view.

{You have defeated Green Slime lvl 1}

{Loot? Yes—-No}

I chose yes and the slime seemed to disintegrate " I'm sorry little one" I say as I look at what loot it gave me. I seem to have gotten 1 slime material and 2 copper coins. 'It's lucky that I can at least earn some money before I try to go into a settlement.' I also got 5 exp, seems like to level up to level two I need to get 20 but that should be easy enough.

For the rest of the afternoon I wandered around the small clearing fighting slimes. I can do this for a while because it doesn't take much stamina and I only fought level 1 slimes. I had managed to level up to 2 and all my stats went up by 1. I also gained two extra stat points that I invested into agility and magic. As it started to get late into the day I realized that I was starting to get hungry, but the problem was that I the only things I have seen so far has been slimes.

Right after I completed that thought I heard a rustling noise front the edge of the clearing closest to me. When I looked over I saw a large dark grey wolf emerge. It was more than half of my height and it slowly walked over baring it's teeth with a low growl. 'I wonder what your stats are' I thought but before I could even start to appraise it I saw a gray blur lunge towards me.

"Shit! It's fast" I yelled as dove towards my right barely dodging the beasts fangs. I rolled back to my feat and got into a defensive stance as the wolf quickly changed direction to run towards me. This time I wanted to get some damage in so I quickly jumped to my left bringing the sword down on the wolf's side. I hurried to check the beasts health and saw that I had done 5 damage to it out of its 20 health points.

Trying to put my blade in between me and the beast I cursed in my mind that I had so little sword experience. In the split second that I was distracted it lunged again but this time I could get away in time as it knocked me down on the ground with the only thing stopping it from biting my face being the sword currently in its mouth.

Thinking quickly I kicked the beast over my head, quickly rolling up and trying to stab the beast my lack of experience reared its ugly head again and I only managed to pierce it by its shoulder. Dodging away at the swipe of its claws I had to leave the sword still inside but I still got a long but shallow gash on my left tricep.

Realizing that I was now weaponless and checking the beasts health I knew that I had to find a way to quickly take off the remaining 3 points. While I was Thinking the beast quickly recovered and started its way toward me at a reduced pace due to the sword currently sticking out its shoulder.

Deciding that it is all or nothing I feel out the mana in my body and direct all that I can to right hand and foot. Using the boost to get inside the beasts guard I punched the pommel of my sword as hard as I could launching it up to the hilt in the beast.

Falling down with the beast I made sure to hop up right away but after realizing the beast was dead I fell onto the ground. Looking up I checked the notifications.

{Level Up}

{Skill Gained}

{You have defeated Gray Wolf lvl 3}

{Loot? Yes——No}

Grabbing the loot that consisted of some hide and teeth I checked over my status.
