Reigns Over Me

Hades was still staring at me. Unsurprisingly, there was an emotionless expression on his face. I turned to look at my mom. "We need to clear all these rumors" I told her. There was something going on and by the look on my mother's face, I knew that I was not going to like it. "What is it?" I asked sternly, crossing my arms over my chest. "Well" my mother started, not really knowing how to start. "This rumor seems to brighten Hades' reputation" Stella told me, sounding quite reluctant to tell me. "And what does it have to do with me?" I asked, my eyes moving to Hades. "Hades Reigns, getting married to Luna Jenkins, the only daughter of Kathy Jenkins" Stella said, very formally. "Despite the fame of your mother, you grew into a nice and generous woman" she said, making my eyes grow wide in surprise. "Your good reputation, will clean his" She continued. This time, my stares turned into glares. They wanted me to keep this act of getting marriage going so that Hades Reigns' reputation become clean. "And you agree to this?" I asked my mom who simply shrugged. "Sweetheart, it all depends on you. If you agree, then we'll keep it going. If not, you just tell us" my mother said softly. "Think about it" Stella said. "It's beneficial to both of us" she said quickly. "And why is his reputation so important?" I questioned. Hades had his eyes fixed on me. He seemed perplexed to why I was asking this question. "It simply is" he responded nonchalantly. I have to admit that he still intrigued me. "Then why did you ruined it?" I asked. This time, his eyes widened in surprise. "Luna" my mom scolded me again.

Chapter 17: New Plans

After eating our ice creams, we decided to go for a walk on the roads of the town. I was walking by Hades' side. I knew that our picture was going to end up in the magazine tomorrow. That was a good thing, I guess. We would get more publicity.

"I was thinking about something" Jason said, suddenly turning to look at Hades and I. Well, he was looking at Hades.

"Oh! It thinks!" Ella exclaimed teasingly, making Jason roll his eyes. A smile still crept on his face. I knew that Jason, Ella and Julien would get along.

"So" Jason resumed. "We were supposed to go to the beach house this weekend, right?" he said, making Hades nod curtly. They were going to a beach house? Nice.

I want to go.

"What about we take them along?" Jason asked, slightly motioning to us.

"By them, you mean us?" Julien asked, his eyes twinkling a little bit. Julien always liked the beach. Jason nodded.

"If they want to, then no problem" Hades said, looking at me. I smiled and nodded.

"Sounds like a nice plan" I told him.

"We have free week, next week" Ella told us.

"Then we go on Saturday, then stay there for a week" Jason told us, a bright smile creeping on his face.

"I'm starting to like you" Ella told Jason, making Julien and I roll our eyes.

"What about Ajay?" Julien asked.

"I like Jason on a friendly way" she huffed.

"For now" Jason whispered loud enough for all of us to hear. I wrapped my arms around myself as goosebumps rose on my skin. It was so cold outside.

"Here" Hades said suddenly. As I turned to look at him, I noticed him placing his jacket on me. I happily took it, then put it on. "You're so small" He said while staring at me in amusement.

"Your jacket is big" I corrected as I rose my hands up to show him how loose it was on me.

"I'm going to drop her at home" Hades told Jason, Ella and Julien, not even asking me whether I wanted to go home or now. As I was already tired and it was Wednesday, which meant that the next day I had to go to class, I nodded and hugged Ella and Julien and waved Jason bye before walking to Hades.

"Tomorrow, you're picking me up" I told Julien as my car was with him. He nodded then waved. I walked by Hades' side, hugging his jacket around my small body. I stopped walking, then leant to take off my high heels as they were bothering me. I still hated high heels even if they made us look so sensuous.

"Why do you wear it if you don't like it?" Hades asked from next to me. I stared at him, not knowing what to say. "The first say I saw you, you took your heels off before running in the grass like a kid" He stated, making me laugh.

"The first day I met you, I thought I was going to die" I laughed. He chuckled while shaking his head.

"If I wasn't there, you were going to" he told me as we reached his car. I nodded and waited for him to unlock the car. Once he did, I quickly opened the door and got in the car. I was freezing.

"Thank you for the jacket" I told him as I started taking it off and he quickly shook his head.

"Keep it on. You don't want to fall sick just before going to a beach house, right?" he questioned. I quickly shook my head and put the jacket back. I took a sniff then rose my head to look at Hades who was already looking at me as if I lost my mind.

"Your jacket smells so good" I told him, trying to justify my weird action. He simply grinned then shook his head before starting the engine of the car.

"Excited to spend a whole week with me?" he asked, out of the blue as he started driving.

"With you, Jason, Julien and Ella" I added. "But before that I will most probably have to face Angie and Jace tomorrow" I sighed. I didn't want to face them. I didn't want to talk to them.

"You did nothing wrong, right?" Hades asked. I was going to glare at him for doubting, but then he continued talking. "So don't be afraid to say the truth" he told me.

"Yes. Now can we talk about something else?" I asked, turning to look at him. I knew that Hades wanted to turn to look at me as he was giving me side glances. I studied his face. His jaw lines were so sharp. I could notice when he would clench and unclench his jaws. "You're not exactly how I expected you to be" I told him suddenly. He blinked once, twice and thrice before licking his lips.

"Which is?" he asked curiously.

"You seemed so cold and arrogant the first time I saw you" I explained. "But in fact, you're kinda nice and fun to be around" I continued. "Why do you put the cold facade?" I asked.

"That cold facade doesn't make people want to communicate with me. So less people, less drama" he told me, a smirk playing on his face. I knew that there was something else that he obviously didn't want to talk about.

"At first, I found you really intimidating. You were like a mystery. I mean, you still are" I told him, now turning to stare at the road. I could see my house coming in sight.

"You don't find me intimidating anymore?" Hades asked as he parked the car in front of my house. I turned to look at him. Did I find him intimidating?

"It depends on the situation" I admitted. He leant forwards, a smirk on his face. I could feel his breath fan all over my face.

"Now?" he whispered. I gulped.

"Extremely" I whispered back before pulling back and I opened the door. "Good night, Hades" I said, not turning back to look at me as he was chuckling.

"Good night, Love" I heard him say back.
