Okay, I may have an idea. I'm not certain or even slightly sure it'll work, but it looks like my only option at this point. All I have to do is get close. Well, I also have to be undetected, but that's the hard part. Actually I may use my tunnel skill to get close since the monsters seem distracted.
While I've been struggling to come up with a plan, the snake doesn't have that many problems. I mean, what do you expect from a big ass snake. It's getting down and dirty in this fight, chomping the head of another tank centipede and batting away the last one. The assassin centipede is out of commission due to the snake whipping it back and forth with its tail so that one will be my target. Don't think this will be easy either. It may have been whipped a little hard, but it won't take too much for this centipede to kill me, injured or not. Not to mention I still have to sneak past its friends. We won't mention the big snake. I'm not a huge fan of snakes.
Mind made up, I slowly back off from the battle, being as careful as I can so as not to bring attention to myself, not that it matters right now, but you never know. After making sure neither parties of the vicious slaughter going on over there have been able to notice me, I jump straight into the wall and start tunneling downward with a slight curve towards where I just was. I have to tunnel slowly this time, so I take every little precaution I can to reduce the amount of dirt I shovel backward or noise I produce when breaking harder rocks.
It doesn't take long to get back to the battle once again, and by that I mean get within ten meters so I can see. It actually seems like the snake has been injured! Running down part of its body is a long and deep looking gash seeping dark red blood. I'm not sure how I see color with a heat-based vision but I digress. The point is the snake is injured, and the only centipede that can hurt the snake like that is my target, the assassin centipede. Looks like it wasn't as injured as it let on. Speaking of which, where did it go?
Aha, there it is. It's actually… inside the opposite wall? Well, that's pretty interesting. Is it even still alive? Ah, it's twitching, albeit weakly. This time there is no hiding strength, from what I can tell the snake straight up yeeted the assassin wannabe into the wall with most of its strength, and it is not lacking in that department. Still, I'm pretty sure that as long as I deal the killing blow it counts, God I hope so. Or I guess Jeremy would be more appropriate there. Anyway, here I go, worming my under the battle to get across the tunnel. Not a fun experience let me tell you. Every movement, tremor, or hard strike transmits directly into the ground and scares the living hell out of me. Every single time I think I've been noticed but it's just the fight from above. I'm actually curious about how the centipedes have lasted at this point. I honestly thought they would lose straight from the get-go, but I was proven wrong pretty quickly. Phew! I'm finally on the other side.
Alright, let's get this experience. Now that I've tunneled across I begin to tunnel up, getting myself into a strategic position to bite the head off of the centipede. Here goes nothing.
CHOMP!
Holy shit this dude is tough! One bite doesn't even do more than a couple of scratches! Focus David, there's no time to dawdle, just bite!
CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP!
Argh! My mandibles are going to crack if this keeps up!
CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP!

Yes! Finally! Okay, it's time to get the fuck out of here while no one has noticed the death of this little guy. He sure did make a fuss earlier, writhing a whole bunch as I bit him. Oh well, what's done is done. Let's bounce! Goal completed, I head back to my little home as fast as my bristles can wriggle me. I really want to watch the rest of that fight between the snake and centipedes, but I know I wasn't the only one watching it, and plus I have to evolve in a safe place, and I'm running out of time.
Alright, finally home. Now let's just find a pla--
