Chapter 2

In the hustling city of Tokyo.

-At Tohya's room-

Tohya: Look sis, Dad died and no one is taking care of mom back in Japan. I thought we settled this?

Kira: But we're living just fine back in the US. Why can't mom live with us?

Kira is Tohya's little sister. Their father is an American while their mother is Japanese. When they were little, their parent's got divorced and Tohya and his sister lived with their father is the US. After they died, having no other family in the US, Tohya decided to live with their blood related mother back in Japan.

Kira: You know oh so well we're not that fluent in speaking Japanese. Don't you get the looks from the other when you go to class?

Tohya: But mom is more of a ... traditional person. We'll get to speak Japanese in time okay. it's in our blood.

Kira: I'm scared Tohya. I can't communicate well with others. I know they're talking bad behind me and I can't even ask for help cause I can't speak their damn language. I even got bullied on the first day of school and I don't even know what they say and that pisses me off !

Tohya: Next time you show me who's bullyin you. I'll handle it okay sis.

Kira: As if you have time, busy with your university and all.

Tohya: there's always time for family sis.

Kira: Please... *looks at Tohya sadly* can we go back? Dad left a house for us back in the US didn't he? We have friends there, people who genuinely wants to help us.

Tohya: Don't give up okay.

Kira: It's useless talking to you! Geez!

*Kira then stomps out of the room angrily*

Tohya: *sighs*, girls and their puberty.

*Tohya's mother then walks in*

Mother: She wants to go back to US?

Tohya: Daijobu. *smiles softly to her mother*

Mother: Don't look down on me young man. I know how to speak English as fluent as you two.

Tohya: Really? That's what I get?

The next day, Tohya went to class. Similar to Kira, Tohya was also bullied being not able to speak Japanese. Sometime people intentionally bumps to him so that all his things fell down when he's walking. Spilled some drinks on his work and even stole his stuff when he is not looking. But for his mother's happiness, Tohya swallowed it all and bare all of it. Hoping one day, they will all get tired and it will all go away.

*Just as Tohya brings his food by the tray, some students flips aside his tray making all his food drops then walks by laughing as if nothing. Tohya simply smiled pathetically. Not just that, it seems that Tohya was the one who got scolded by the janitor, despite him doesn't understand a single word from the angry janitor*

Tohya: Another day another...… another test "sighs".... do it for mom, do it for mom...

-The day ended and Tohya went back home-

*As Tohya comes in, he was greeted by Kira's loud voice, shouting to their mother*

Tohya: Kira!

Kira: If it's not for you! *points at her crying mother* I won't have to go through all this shit!

* Tohya hurriedly ran towards the both of them*

Tohya: What are you doing Kira!?

*Kira and her mother was seen crying with swollen eyes*

Kira: It's all this woman's fault! You! YOU! Useless Bitch!

*Tohya then slaps Kira*

Mother: Tohya!

Tohya: Enough! She's your mother!

Kira: *Sniffs* Where was her when we were kids!? Dad was the one who grew us up! NOT HER!

Tohya: Enough!

Kira: Do you know what happen to me today!? Well I-

Tohya: Enough! *shouted louder*

Kira: *hic*... *in disbelief*... I don't have anyone do I?... *runs away to her room*

Mother: Kira!

Tohya: *sighs* are you okay mom?

Mother: Kira is....

Tohya: just go to sleep for now okay. I'll talk some sense to her the next day.

Mother: .............

-The next morning-

Tohya: Morning. *yawns*

Mother: Morning...

*Tohya just woke up and finish dressing up for his morning class and met his mother, sitting at the dining table. Then Kira was heard running downstairs. When Kira met Tohya, Kira simply hugged Tohya then run off to school*

Tohya: That was awkward. She didn't even have time for breakfast. Was it that late?

Mother:........

Tohya:. *notices his mother's unresponsive* okay... well, I'm off to class as well then.

-During Tohya's class-

*A lecturer then walks in after he knocked. Talked to the lecturer who was in charge of the current class. After a short conversation, the lecturer turn his attention to Tohya*

Lecturer: Mister Tohya. There is a call for you. Would you be so kind to follow me?

Tohya: huh?

*students started to whispering here and there*

-At the front of the campus, where two policeman is waiting outside their police car-

Tohya: What's going on?

Lecturer: It's best the enforcer told you instead. *Pats on Tohya's shoulder* good luck.

Tohya: Good... luck?

*Then one of the officer opens the door for Tohya*

Officer: Tohya san, they had to specifically pick me to handle this.... aaaa, situation. Since you don't speak much Japanese.

Tohya: Did I do something wrong?

Officer: No no. *took off his shade*... it's your sister.

*Tohya's eyes widen in shocked*

As the policeman drove Tohya to Kira's high school. The policeman explained to Tohya that Kira was found dead, jumping from the rooftop of the school. They tried contacting their mother but their mother was unavailable.

-At Kira's highschool-

*As the car stopped, Tohya quickly rush out of the car as he saw a dead body bag was about to be carried into an ambulance*

Tohya: Wait ! WAIT!

*They stopped so that Tohya was able to see for himself. On of them zips down the bag and Tohya saw Kira's face, bloodied and lifeless. Kira was indeed, dead*

Tohya: Kira..... *sat on the ground, lifeless * why... *remembered Kira cried yesterday and hugged him this morning*..... What happen!? *Tohya then had flashback of when they were kids always together helping each other* WHY!?

Officer: Calm down Tohya. The teacher found out the cause of her suicide. We should meet the principle now.

Tohya: ..... The..... *eyes widen* cause?

-At the principle's room-

*Inside the room was the officer, the headmaster, a teacher and a timid female student*

Headmaster: So you must be.... Tohya. Firstly, I'm sorry for your lost.

Tohya: the cause.... *murmurs*

Headmaster: What was it now?

Tohya: What's the cause!? *slams the headmaster's table*

Officer: calm down Tohya!

Headmaster: It's okay. You must be curious. Well.... this morning..... a video of her... went viral among the students. We tried our best protecting her within the school walls. But outside the school is already outside our jurisdiction.

Tohya: wha? *confuse and speechless*

Headmaster: Has she consult to you or your family anything about her getting bullied?

Tohya: wait wait wait *in disbelief* what video?

Officer: Tohya, you need to accept whatever comes next as calm as possible

Tohya: WHAT VIDEO!?

Student: She was raped

Tohya: *Tohya looked at the girl in disbelief*

Student: *started crying* *she talks in Japanese and the officer helped translate for her*

Officer: Your sister.... was getting caught with some bad student. They tried to warn her but your sister feels like everyone is her enemy. This girl admits that there are time she pushes her but what the guys did, they never agreed on going that far.

Teacher: It seems that they recorded everything and shared it among the school this morning..... if it's not for her, we won't capture the one responsible.

Tohya: Where are they?

Headmaster: Excuse me?

Tohya: WHERE ARE THOSE FUCKER!

Officer: Tohya calm down!

Tohya: HOW AM I ABLE TO CALM DOWN!? *Finally cries* She is my only sister! MY ONLY! *Crouching himself on the ground, crying* And its... all my fault...... for not hearing her out properly.…*sobs*.... damn it... DAMN IT!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-Later that night back at Tohya's home-

*After doing all the paperwork and everything, Tohya went back home. All day Tohya tries to reach her mother's phone but she never picks up. But from what the headmaster said, His mother was informed beforehand but since no further action was seen, the authority contacted Tohya instead*

Tohya: *Opens the unlocked door slowly* I'm.... home...

*Tohya walks inside the house, looking for his mom then saw his mom sleeping infront of the TV. Tohya walks to his mother's side and saw swollen eyes. Her dress is still wet possibly from her tears. *

Tohya: Poor mother..... she must've cried herself to sleep... *closes his eyes as he tries not to sleep*.... I'm sorry... Kira.... I'm so sorry!.....

*Tohya left his mother sleeps then went to his own room then sleep*

-The next day-

*Tohya slept throughout the morning. It was already the afternoon. He took a day off to settle all the documents regarding his sister today. After feeling sluggish and hungry, Tohya decided to wake up and make breakfast*

Tohya: Morning.... *greeted Tohya as he walks down the stairs*

*Tohya then saw his mother still in front of the TV, sitting on the chair sleeping*

Tohya: huh? *Got curious*

*Tohya then walks to his mother then gently pat on her shoulder*

Tohya: Mom? Wake up. I'm making breakfast. What do you want to eat?

*No response from his mother*

Tohya: *smiled worriedly* hey mom? It's 1 in the afternoon already.

Tohya: hey? *pats one more time on his mother's shoulder* mom?

*Tohya's hand was shaking. He slowly tried to reach his mother's nose. When his fingers was on his mother's nose. She was not breathing*

Tohya: ha... *smiled as tears fell down*.....ha......krhhhh *looking disbelieve* aaa...AAA....KRHH...A....*curling up on the floor like a ball, hugging his legs tightly* aaa...ERRkkk.....KRR...…*hic*........RRRRRrrrRRRR.......

-Later that evening walking non stop with no destination on bare foot-

*Tohya's feet has already started to bleed out*

Tohya:....................

*Tohya walked for hours non stop, walking aimlessly like a zombie*

Tohya:.....................................................

Tohya: *heard some noise*................................

*Noise getting louder*

Tohya:......... * doesn't even bother to look up *

*Then Tohya was suddenly getting hit by a speeding truck with a malfunction break*
