A distant dream

Rachael 's POV

"Where am I?" I whisper to myself, as I plop myself up from the ground dusting off the dirt that clung to my dress as I swept my gaze through my surroundings, disbelief etched over my face. 

Everywhere as far as the eye could see, I was surrounded by thick greenery like I was lost in some kind of forest. But what would I be doing in a forest to begin with? I took to my feet, navigating my way through the shrubs and bushes following the sounds of the flowing river that echoed from a distance. I used my hands to part the thick leaves that blocked my part, unveiling the cliff top I had found myself at. 

There was someone there, standing there with his back facing me as he stared off into the distance. Appreciating the scene the river provided. He turned around, smiling at me as he stood with open arms. 

Tears welled in my eyes, a warm feeling welled in my heart as I ran towards him with open arms, enveloping him in a hug.
