Chapter 22: Danger

*Bang*bang*

The corpse is strap on to the metal table and making banging sound as it struggle

It restriction was all made of strong material to prevent it from escaping .

Around the meatal table was variety of equipment used in a surgical suite.

" Professor ,should I really be here?"

asked Marissa frightened by the creature on the dissection table.

" As a biology student ,you should be able to perform dissection on any subject. It's the best way to learn everything about the creature."

Answered the professor with a smile.

Wearing surgical attires, they both walk towards the struggling corpse. The elder officer was standing on one corner of the room and observing everything that is happening, his hand was caressing the butt of his gun ready to fire of any danger occur.

" So let start!"

said the professor

He pick up the probes and set them on the creatures body but the machine only shown flats , indicating that the creature have no vitals meaning that it's completely dead.

Seeing this he started to cut the body to check it's organs,

They were shock to see a mush mix of meat was what inside the the creatures chest cavity. Marissa almost threw up after seeing the sight .

The creature was still struggling seemingly unaware that it's body was being opened.

" Interesting!"

Due to the mush of organs , it was hard for the professor to see any irregular spot on the creatures body.

He then choose to use an x ray machine to see under it skin and muscles.

As he drag the machine over the creature, his brow frown.

Except for some black spot on the creature bones there is nothing irregular in it.

"Aehhhhgh"

Marissa was unable to control her self and threw up on the sink on the side of the room.

The smell and the warm air coming from the creature tumble the tummy of any one who smell it, especially for a student like Marissa.

The professor just glance and continue.

" It's general structure was just like a normal human, it bones and organs have some have signs of decay but it normal for someone who is dead for quite a while. Everything seem s normal except -"

" Except that it walking ,killing , and have double the strength of a normal human being"

the elder interject.

" That's right"

The professor look at him and answered.

" In movies about zombies , it's usually in the brains right , maybe there is something there."

said the elder

the professor slide the x-ray on the head and see the skull of the creature

" It's impossible that it the brain, that should have decompose in the early stage of decomposition"

" So we found not-"

"Ahh!"

They was both started by the sudden scream of the girl , the officer even pulled out his gun.

" What ?"

asked the professor to the girl standing at the other side of the table

" Something moved!!"

said she while pointing at the imagery of the x ray machine

" what move ?"

asked the professor

" A black spot moved !"

answered the girl

The professor then look at what the girl was pointing at but he saw nothing.

" On the eyes !"

he then look more intently , after a few second a dark spot appeared on the creatures eye socket but then it disappears right after.

He was shock and his gaze move toward the face of the creature

He saw nothing.

" Look like we are going to open it head! Hand me the cutting tool"

Marissa then clumsily look for the tool and hand it over to the professor

The professor pause for a moment and then look at officer

" I need you to hold its head"

The officers look at him in daze, after a second he then quickly get near the corpse and hold the side of it head

" Is this okay"

with out answering the doctor started the tool a cut a cross section on it skull.

He doesn't need any more procedure for it already dead.

after cutting a triangle on its skull he then remove it and it revealed a white gooey brain.

But that is not the most shocking thing they saw, for in the membrane of the organ was a insect like creature was swimming .

" tweezers"

asked the professor

he then clamp on the the insect and pulled it out

The insect have an appearance of an scorpion mix with a worm , as it upper body have a carapace and leg it lower body is a two inches long worm body with long tendrils connected to it . The tendrils go through the organs and was most like connected to the spinal cord of the corpse.

He raised the insect and the tree of them look at it .

"What the hell was that!?"

asked the elder officer as he grimaces at the bug.

"Are you clocking out?"

asked a staff of the morgue to his colleague

" yeah ,jus gotta check the lights on the freezer"

" Ok , lm just finishing up her too ,lets go home together"

" ok!"

The staff then walked while whistling onto the freezer room.

The staff outside finish up in arranging the records

" Ahhhhhhhh!!"

A bloodcurdling scream came out of the room.

The scream startled the staff and she felled on the floor. She then looked at the open door of the freezer room and she herd footsteps coming from it.

She stand up and walk to it thinking that something must have happened to her colleague

" Luke , are you alright?"

she walk inside was shock to in scene she saw.

Her college Luke was on the floor drowning on hi own blood while another man was on top of him pulling his flesh out of his chest with his hands and teeth.

Her heart was almost stop in horror.

she breath and what came out of her lips-

"AHHHHHHHHH!!"

a horrifying scream.
