Chapter Two: I'm Going to be A Villain?
"You will be the villain of this world."
Those words repeated in his head. The look of confusion and shock on his face.
"So let me get all of this straight: I died due to a meeting with Truck-Kun."
"Yes," the goddess directly said with a smile on her face.
"And you're going to revive me in a fantasy world?" Alex continued asking.
"No, I will have you be reborn; there's a difference."
"Ok, I will be reborn into this world; what does that mean?"
"You ask a lot of questions, don't you, Alex?" The goddess said "I like that about you; you are very inquisitive. Now, to answer your question, you will be reborn; you will live another life entirely with a new family. You will still have your memories, and I'll always do some goddess magic and let you keep your first name, although your last name will be different."
Alex looked puzzled. "Goddess Magic?"
"I'm an all-powerful goddess; I can do anything I please." The goddess said
Alex thought to himself "seems this goddess has one hell of a ego."
Alex closed his eyes and said "And you're saying when I am reborn, I will be a villain?"
The goddess once again answered directly, "Yes."
"Do I get a choice in the matter?" Alex asked the goddess.
"Yes, you can choose to become the villain of the world, or you can choose to enter the afterlife; it's your choice after all."
Alex sighed.
Alex thought to himself: he was to be reborn into a fantasy world and will be a villain; he will have a new family, something he never really had before. He had no siblings; his mother died giving birth to him, and his father was a deadbeat. He has been raised by his aunt since he was 10. He would, hopefully, finally have a real family.
After taking time to think, he took a deep breath and said the words that the goddess wanted to hear.
"I accept."
The goddess' face lit up in the most beautiful smile Alex ever saw.
"Countries would go to war just to see that smile again." Alex thought to himself.
"Perfect!" The goddess jumped towards him and embraced him in a hug.
"Why is it so soft?" Alex thought to himself, flustered.
The goddess released Alex with a slight blush on her cheeks. "Now that you've accepted this, I should explain to you some of the finer details of your reincarnation."
"Many people in this world possess magic. As needed by a true villain, you will be extremely talented. Things will come naturally to you, and if you hone these talents, you will become near unstoppable."
"Can you tell me about the family I will be born into?" Alex asked, showing a very sincere smile.
The goddess responded, "Yes, I understand why that would be important to you." The goddess once again cupped Alex's cheek. "Sadly, I cannot say what your family will be; however, what I can tell you is that they will both show you love and kindness but also darkness and hatred. It will be up to you to learn about your new family and choose who to be around them."
Alex smiled at the simple prospect of having a family.
"What about the hero?" Alex asked
"Oh?"
"Well, it makes sense; if there's a villain, there has to be a hero." Alex said to the surprised goddess:
"Well, you're not wrong; there is a hero. Although, unlike you, they will be naturally born into that world, they are one of the few who can best you at your peak. However, you won't meet them until both of you are at your strongest. So it's not an immediate concern." The Goddess explained
The goddess stood up in front of Alex, looked him straight in the eye, and asked, "Are you ready?"
Alex took a sigh and spoke directly to the goddess.
"Yes."
Alex's body started shining.
"Then, with the blessings of the goddess of love and magic, Xymaris, I hereby bestow on you your second chance at life." The goddess started chanting.
Alex's body shined brighter than before.
"I can't wait to see you again, my dear." The goddess spoke seductively.
"Wait...again?"
Alex never got his answer, and soon all he could see was darkness. Until he opened his eyes to a blurry ceiling and heard
"My Lady, you have given birth to a healthy boy."
