I Am Memory

I open my eyes. I look at myself and wonder,

"Where am I?"

Everything around me is blank and when I look at myself, I feel as if I am missing something. Then I immediately knew what.

"Where is my physical body?" I asked myself.

"*Sigh* We got separated, I hope I'm okay" I answered myself.

I look around me and find nothing but memories of the past

"Am I just my own memory?"

After thinking this I searched if I could see memories happening in the present,

after due time I figured out how. Apparently, I can only see the memories of the past, however that means I could also see specific memories within seconds after the event.

"This could prove useful." I mumbled to myself

As I checked my memories that were very recent, I could see my physical body talking to a person who is very kind, my body even called her someone who is worthy enough to be her mother.

"It seems as though my body managed to gain some memory, maybe even most, then how am I even still here?" I asked myself.

I tried searching for memories and found the most gruesome memory I have forgotten. It was how I was killed, or how we were both killed and separated.

"How did things end up like this anyway?"

"For a reason."

The moment I heard that I yelped in the world of my memories.

"Who is there?"

"Is it not okay for I, who is a spirit, to choose not to talk?"

"Ehhhhh?! You're also stuck here?"

"Sadly yes, and it seems your, "body" absorbed me before being reincarnated."

"...W-Wait what? How is that even possible?"

"I have no clue at all even though I am the one and only, legendary, Braxos!"

"I have slayed many beasts and is a very powerful weapon spirit which evolved into what I am now!"

"Yeah, hard to believe..."

"I do not lie fellow spirit of memory, for I ask of your assistance in helping me get out of here."

"The reason why we are stuck here is because of you, if you weren't here, we would already be free."

"How so?"

"The moment I heard this brainless spirit say that I was annoyed."

"That is what I thought the moment I heard you ask that stupid question." I spoke.

"Bu-"

"Do you, haughty spirits, have infinite stupidity?" I asked.

"...No" The spirit replied."

"Then you better start acting what you are "legendary" spirit of a stick with metal melted on top."

"For your information swords are not a stick with meta-"

"Silence!" "You are getting on my nerves."

After that the spirit went silent. Although I do feel a tad bit lonely after a couple of hours.

"Might as well see what my body is doing." I thought to myself. I look into the most recent memories to just find a bunch of crap that my body is doing to get myself killed at any moment with just one single wrong move. Thankfully the strange girl who is named Punkt Gott, is assuring me and my body's safety.

...Two hours later...

"You there?" I called out to Braxos but to only be ignored.

"Sorry about the things I said earlier." I "apologized."

"So could we like talk it out?"

Obviously, I do not regret one bit of what I said earlier as I truly meant what I said, but if I want Braxos to talk then I might as well pretend and let it work out, right? Right.

"Why do you want to talk to me?" Finally replied Braxos.

"We might as well get out of here, yes?

"That I agree with." Replied Braxos.

"Well, it seems me, which is me, myself which is my body, and I which is you, Braxos! Is possibly about be murdered brutally by giants!" I happily said as a joke which is also the truth since my body IS going up to the Mountain tops of Giants.

Surprisingly Braxos could also see the memories and not live in them as we are now. How, might you ask? It's simple, we just choose a memory of a location and live in it, that way life isn't so boring. However, for Braxos, he could only see some memories that are accessible by me.

"Believe it or not Braxos but we should start finding a memory with graves to rest there after our main body dies." I said sarcastically.

"I hope I get released instead of dying." replied Braxos which sounded a little serious.

Some time later...

"Aha!" I yelped excitedly.

"What is it?" immediately replied Braxos who sounded pretty serious.

"We can possess things!" I yelled joyfully.

"Like what?" asked Braxos curiously.

"You could possibly possess weapons! And I could possess elements!" I said in wonder and with enthusiasm

"I never thought of that..." Said Braxos full of wonder.

"Welp since I wield the power of light, I might as well possess that." I said.

"And I hope to possess a worthy weapon."

After discussing all of this we chose the memory to go back in, and just imagine what we could do with whatever we possess. "What am I doing at the moment I wonder." I go and look into the most recent memories and find myself walking along with Punkt Gott talking. This gave me a sense of peace, a feeling where I get the sense of relief.

<What is happening in the real world>

Once we reached the mountains, the air got cold. It was absolutely freezing. A cold shiver drove through the mountains. Then, the terrain behind us changed. It turned into the same tall pillars that were covered in dead plants and snow. Then, the earth rumbled. Boom boom, it gradually got more intense. Then, from the depths of the snow, emerged a ginormous fire giant. With each step, it melted the snow, causing it to evaporate. I was struck with fear, I stumbled back, and fell. My legs were stiff, I couldn't move. Run. Run. Run! The giant got closer and closer. It raised its foot and stepped on us. But then, a spirit of that gave me the chills gathered all of the metal around us. All of the iron in the soil, everything. And he created a giant sword that cut off the foot of the giant. He then changed into an odachi. And landed in my hands. It was long, longer than any other sword I had ever seen. He flew up, taking me along. Above the head of the giant, we dropped. I infused the blade with my light magic and plunged it into the brain of the creature.

"Huff Huff. What was that?" I turned and searched for Punkt. Once I found her, I asked many questions.
