Chapter 111 - Igloo
-
"...where are we going?"
Cautious, and obviously reluctant, the Old Man asked behind me as we walk our way to that place. His young companions—the wimpish-looking guy and the surly woman were following behind him. They all we're holding their weapons ready in case of something happening. They're wary.
"A safe place we can take a rest into." I replied.
"I see..." There came a pause but then, he added. "A safe place, you say. That means, you guys must have been here quite long before, huh."
"No. We actually just came here an hour ago." I turned to them and pointed my fingers at my eyes. The latter stiffened and positioned themselves for moment's notice. Damn, these guys are paranoid in the head, aren't they? "I told you before, but I drank a Potion that enables me to see specific things that the Potion granted me into. Specifically, the Potion I drank illuminates all the treasures as far as my eyes can see. In this case, it gave me a certain vision that made me able to locate that safe place."
By the way, the girls went ahead before us, leaving me alone with these guys. I know you guys were excited, but you didn't have to leave me here with these guys...
Although, the silver-lining is, I didn't have to bother with the mobs as the girls will be the one to kill them. Everyone had each gotten their own new weapons, so I guess it's no wonder they're excited to test them.
"Hm, that should've cost you quite an amount, huh. Well, you're walking on a place with your lives on the line after all, so I guess for you guys' sake, that's a given. Who knows how much that cost you. 5 Platinum? 10?"
"I didn't cost me any." I replied. "I brewed them on my own."
Just me and my game knowledge, though. The Brewing Station I have had an automatic brewing function. Which is why, my only concern is the materials. Although it didn't really take me as a challenge since I know where to get them.
"What?!" The Old Man voiced out his surprise. Nice reaction. Although those guys beside him didn't seem to get it. How saddening. "You can even brew Potions? Just who are you..."
"Is brewing really that hard to make?" Asked the wimpy-looking guy beside him.
"Brewing is hard. Manually that is." I interjected. "I had an automatic brewing station in my place, so it didn't leave me quite the difficult. Anyhow, the talk is over, were here."
We proceed our way inside a small passageway. Beyond the passageway has already been lighted-up. As we approach beyond, the place finally come into view with us.
"This is...!"
"Uwah... I didn't think it was this large."
The space wasn't in any means narrow but instead is unbelievably vast—an ice Cave Chamber. And on that vast space placed a gigantic igloo that stood at least a few meters in height. It was colossal compared to the game that I was left jaw drop with my eyes wandering around dumbfoundedly.
"You're kidding...!" The surly girl remarked as all of us look at the igloo, stunned in awe.
I turned to the girls who were having a cheerful conversation near the entrance of the igloo. There were also remains of monsters lying on the ground. It seems like they had a blast slaughtering these poor guys. Not that I'm complaining, though.
Nonetheless, this place still needs some cleaning. The igloo is already fine, no cracks and still hasn't taken any form of damage. It looks so brand new that it felt like it was just built not too long ago.
"Nice work, everyone." I waved at the girls as I approached them. "Having a bang, aren't we?"
"Ah, Master!" The moment she heard my voice, Luna immediately went and start shaking me while she points her finger to the igloo excitedly. "Master! Master! Let's make this our base, please?"
"Ah, wait Luna, oof, calm down," She's too strong. It's starting to make me feel a bit dizzy.
"Ah! sorry, Master," Realizing her fault, Luna finally stops shaking me. I support myself and lay my hands on her shoulder as the dizzy assaulted my head. "I was so excited that I..."
"No. It's okay," I replied. "As for your solicitation, that was actually my plan. But for starters, how about we clean the whole place first?"
I know I mentioned that the igloo looked new but unfortunately, its body was currently buried in the heavy of snow. The place also needs some proper lighting. Moreover, the interior. I still haven't seen the inside, but it was probably being housed by monsters.
"Yes." Luna replied. "Then, I'll inform the girls then."
"Yeah," I nodded, then turned to the trio who was waiting for our conversation with Luna. "You've heard it. We'll be cleaning this place up so if you guys could patiently wait on the side then we'll be good. Capisce?"
"Y-Yeah. Will do..." The Old Man didn't say any more word and went on the sides together with his two companions. Wise choice, since I would have preferred to finish this immediately.
Thus, we started cleaning the place. Me, Luna, Lily, Seia is tasked with picking the snow and ice that started solidifying into the body of the igloo. Once the snow and ice were destroyed, we will then use our Magic Pouch and let it suck the debris accumulated. Truly convenient. this Magic Pouch, that is.
Akari, Astra, and Lemuen on the other hand, were charged with fending-off the monsters that dares attack us. Sadly, even if we say that they eradicate all the monsters here, it will just spawn from the outside of the chamber continuously, so someone has to fend them.
Well, I have no problem with Akari following orders. I'm not sure about Lemuen but I guarantee you Astra will surely enjoy the task she was given. In the end, everything was going smoothly. It clearly won't take long before we finish working.
"Hey," While I was picking the block of ice, one of the members whom we save—the surly girl came into me looking for something. "We've been saved by you, and now were being a liability. I'm not really as strong as you guys but I'm sure I can help with something... If there's still left for me to do."
What do we have here. She probably is the type to not allow herself to do nothing while the others work. Hm, If that's the case...
"Here," I began rummaging into my pouch and hand her my other pickaxe—the Beaver Shark. "Just emulate on what we're doing. I'm glad I still have my spare Pickaxe, though."
"I see... thank you." The surly girl took the Pickaxe and began picking the ice beside me. Oh, now that I've mentioned it...
"We still haven't introduced ourselves, right?" I remarked as I pick the ice. "My name is Sai. Sai from the Crimsonheart family. How about you guys?"
"...Lara, a commoner. That wimpy guy is my brother, Mikael and the old man and also my grandpa, is Seymor. Both of them were commoners as well."
"I-I see. Is there a reason for the mention of status, though?" Seriously, does this girl have some resentment towards nobles? I feel like her introduction has a hidden meaning to it. "Well, things aside, I know it's late for this but nice to meet you, Lara."
"...likewise."
Good. Looks like I'm making some good progress... Hopefully.
Not long after we finished clearing the ice encompassing the igloo, I, Luna, Lily, Seia, and Lara went inside the igloo. Surprisingly, it looks very different to what I expected. I mean, I expected the inside to be only a tent-like inside a dome or something. But what came to us instead, was...
"Well, this is a surprise," Lily remarked, her eyes wander around. "I had thought the inside was just an empty space, but this is..."
The Living room was located at the center with numbers of room circling upon it. Oh, there's also a second floor. Cool!
Some of the rooms also lay a numerous bed for accommodation. Somehow, this place reminds me of...
"A hotel...? No, a dormitory..." Luna added, her face turned forlorn. "Somehow, it reminds me of the Cabin back at the Crimsonheart's Mansion..."
"Luna..." Perhaps sensing my worried look her, Luna shook her head in response.
"Hm, It's okay, Master. I've been having so much fun every day, so I don't really mind those things anymore." Luna replied with a beam.
"I see," That's good to hear. She doesn't look bothered by it so she's probably not lying about. Though, I wonder how the Maids were doing on the Mansion. Knowing the situation, the Mansion has probably already been abandoned...
"—?! Master! Watch out!"
"—Woah?!" I instantly dodged something that came out of me within milliseconds notice. Magic? I turned at the origin of the projectile. There, a girl in a form of ice can be seen casting with its hands aimed towards us. She was located second floor of the igloo.
"Speak of the devil. A Frozen Elemental, huh..."
Seia and Lily immediately aimed their weapons towards the Frozen Elemental, but I gestured them to stop.
"I got this," A turquois ring starts shining in my fingers. Shortly, within my hands starts materializing something of a two sharp object—a turquoise scale.
Before the Frozen Elemental manage to fire her magic, I threw the sharp scale towards her. This ring that's currently in my finger is the Serpent's Scale that I got from Vaconawa—a Rogue Class Weapon.
"Ah..." Sadly, the two scale that I threw towards her missed. Yikes...! And I'm pretty confident about it too...
"Ah, Idiot—!"
"Hn—!!"
Good thing, Lily and Seia already came prepared and shot the Frozen Elemental in tandem, piercing it through her head with a bullet and an Energy Arrow.
"You missed, though?!" Lily complained.
"Ahahaha! Sorry. But no one seemed to get hurt, so... How about we start renovating the interior? The place still feels empty don't you think?"
"M-Master..."
"Uwah..."
"..."
Hey! I'm not perfect, though?! I'm only human after all. That's why can you guys please don't look at me like I'm a disappointment?! Also, you, Lara! Stop it!
"T-this guy just shamelessly changed the subject..." said Lily in disbelief, then sighing after. "I can't with you... so, what's the plan? Are going to refurbish this igloo as well?"
"Yeah," I nodded. "I want my things to be always look at their best. Which is why, I'll be taking no sleep tonight. Since were done here, you guys should be able to take a rest now."
"But Master, that's unhealthy..." Luna worriedly reprimanded.
"I'll be fine. I'll be taking a rest tomorrow so don't worry too much about it," "I assured. "Let's call the others and take a rest for the day. There should be plenty of beds you can pick upon. This place looks some sort of dormitory after all."
"Y-yes..." With a timid and displeased response, Luna left and went to tell the others. The rest then followed as well.
"..."
I felt like Seia shot me a look before she left and followed the girls. Does she have something to say to me? At any rate, I'll be taking an all-nighter this time. Alright, I guess I should start building then!
